it replaces the old Ferrari California, which was their entry-level car.
Interesting note, the maserati granturismo, my old maserati granturismo, was originally suppose to be that ferrari california, but instead they gave it to maserati as their halo car and decided to produce this pig ugly thing 
You can see the resemblance 
even the chassis underneath is very similar with the ferrari being aluminum and maserati being steel. both share the same engine f136
so it goes Ferrari California -> Ferrari California T -> Ferrari Portifinio
I miss my maserati.... just looking at that picture makes me sad. 
p.p.s. that ferrari california looks like a bitch ass beetle.
