I'd say it's still cheaper to cook at home, and I know what I'm getting when I'm at home. A lot of my groceries costs are in fruits cause the kids only eat all the expensive shit.

it's true, park and tilford save on kitchen is legit.

it may seem overstaffed, but my guess is they get a lot of people from the movie studio next door as well as the port industry nearby who go there for lunch.

burger was very good. fries were meh.

So here is progression of items to try - beef burger, chicken burger, then beef sandwich!

Must have next meet at this location with dinner included. (It's a bit far to ride to though )

I find it difficult to go to casual restaurants/pubs anymore these days.
I'm so bored of the menus, they're all the same. Your typical appies (fried crap, Nachos,), Salads, Burgers, Steak entrees, Pastas, maybe pizzas, and "ethnic" bowls.

When I eat out, it's for food I can't or don't cook at home. There are very few restaurants that cook a better steak than I can at home, so that's out. Same with burgers.
Very few casual restaurants do pizza better than an actual pizza place, so that's out as well. Same with those "ethnic bowls", if I want those then I'll just go to that respective ethnic restaurant (the only problem with that is that those restaurants are usually not the nicest places to dine at).

We went out to the Fireside Grill last night, the only thing on the menu that really interested me was the duck breast with Potato Pavé, and that was $44 for two 1/2" slices of the duck breast.

I'm going to pop over the bridge to check this Save-On out, it's fairly close.

If you guys like burgers and are in North Van anyways, you really are missing out on going to The Gull, it would feel weird to me heading to NV for a burger and not going there instead

They are all the same for the most part as they are just getting mostly prepared stuff from Sysco or GFS
There’s lots of good stuff around though. Go to au comptoir or faux bourgeois for good burgers or steak or duck or simple French stuff if you want casual, not cactus or whatever place that’s trying to be them this week.

for those of you who sometimes follow recipes on the internet but hate how recipe sites are some of the most garbage sites to browse... popups, ads, sometimes they refresh and lose your position, long paragraphs of fluff, etc...

just type cooked.wiki/ in front of your url and it will condense everything ad free.

just saw this on reddit, it works amazingly on mobile or desktop

What, you mean you don’t enjoy reading a 10,000-word life story about how Grandma inspired the recipe first?

Jokes aside, thanks for sharing that.

I use Youtube more than static webpages for recipes these days. I'm more interested in the methods/process. A lot of the those static recipe pages are posted by people who aren't good cooks.

Thanks for this suggestion, going here with a colleague who's a burger fanatic next week.
