oh yah. And everyone can thank Hughes for that. If Hughes was about the money and wanted to stay and live the good old life and play hockey and not care about winning a cup he would stay. And the Canucks would be another 10 years of being in the mushy middle again. But Hughes being a hockey guy and knew this roster wasn't going anywhere.
Which forced Aquaman and management back into a corner with the only options to rebuild.
From a financial standpoint, I don't think Aquaman wants to pay for another fired coach. From a tanking standpoint, it makes more sense to keep him around if things are this bad. I honestly wonder if this was part of the plan all along and to bring Manny up from Abby after his 2-year contract is up.
I don't think I can handle another year of Foote. Too many remnants of the old regime. He was Hughes' hire.
I say finish the season and then bring Manny in for the next year. There's no guarantee he won't get poached by another team, so it makes no sense to wait for his contract in the AHL to finish. Manny will be good for all the kids' development.
Anytime info comes from Seravalli, especially in regards to the Canucks, I'd take it with a massive grain of salt. If Petey wants to go, I don't blame him. I'd also wish him the best of luck in another city.
