My 2010 ES is still super quiet. Hadn’t skipped a beat since 2010. I had one issue with it so far. Ball joint went and dealership charged me 125 dollars to replace it. Lawl ! You’re right. Modern day Lexus is very much trash in comparison to where they used to be. The LC is probably the last Lexus I’ll ever buy. |
Dealerships fill gas? I thought they leave everything on E |
Hard to say for sure but probably yes. A lot of cars have gone unsold! |

Isn't nanaimo surrey by the sea? where's the demand for a porsche dealer. nanoose bay/parksville for the old rich dudes? 911 for the hippies after they park their EV coming back from a pipeline protest? |
I was gonna say the same thing. This is why that exotic mystique Porsche is trying to create by moving their 911s to exotic car status is completely asinine. Your bread and butter Porsche units are driven by prositutes and wives of middle management douchebags. I guess they’ll sell a few more boring SUV’s in Nanaimo |

Lugaro Jewellers closed their Rolex arm in N Van and opened it up in their Victoria store last year. You wouldn't do that if there wasn't a market there. |

Nanaimo has had a Mercedes dealership for decades and we also have a BMW and Audi dealership. They are all owned by the Gain group who also own VIMC. |
I'm always sketched as fuck if I test drive a car on e. Like I'm not buying this if I have to walk, and you're that cheap to put gas in what else are you cheaping out on. |

Every time a car like this is released, anything built before 2015 goes up by 10% in price. |

I've love to find out how much of a stripper Macan you can get nowadays. In theory, it starts at ~$68k. But I don't think I've seen any new ones going for less than $80k. |
The Porsche Tax is real. No way you’ll get a stripper spec car. |
As I said, the VW group is milking Porsche's brand and clients to extract as much as possible to keep the whole rickety operation afloat. When you charge people 80k for a macan that has the same 2.0 EA888 engine as my hitlerbox (42k loaded to the tits, 32ish k if you want a stripper one with DSG) the same MQB platform, and a barely noticable 2 inch lift, youre stealing money from idiots who care about the porsche crest (which was sketched out on a napkin to bring more exclusivity to the brand instead of being a VW https://www.elferspot.com/en/magazin...FEbsJXWf-RuYT6) All the retards who keep saying the macan is the best handling SUV can eat a dick. its basically a golf. |
Isn’t Macan MLB - which included Audi A6-8? Comparison with Golf R (55k?) or Q5 (62) probably better. A 6k upcharge from a Q5 doesn’t seem unreasonable Or 12k from Golf R might |
The old Macan is based on the old Q5, which is now I think is 3 generations ago now as there's a brand new Q5. The Macan had an incredible 9 or 10 year run while still selling ok. VAG's brand engineering is getting close to GM levels of insane, as you know some cars are basically the same underneath. We already don't see all of it as we don't get Skoda or Seat here. The Lambo Urus and the RSQ8 is basically the exact same car underneath. Which I think also underpins the Cayenne GT. Back when the Q7/Cayenne/Toureg thing came out, at least they kept the drivetrains unique. At lease their cars don't look the same like back in the day with GM. |
Do people shopping in that price range think that way? VW sold like 5 phaetons and a lot more Bentleys. What would you change if you put Macan on the newer platform? The turbo 4 is competitive with B48, PDK >> ZF8, and GTS rides way better than X3MC and GLC63. Driver assist came in 2018 and autopark in 2022. At least VAG have kept the V8/10s, unlike Ferrari. |
It's not fair to say that the Macan is basically a glorified GTI. The story for Macan's development sort of goes like this -- initially Porsche started chassis development based off the Audi Q5. But as they played with it, they weren't happy with handling dynamics of the Q5, so they started making changes and such to the point where the end product was ~80% different than the Q5. I seem to think only the floorboard and some other hard bits are still the same between the Q5 and the Macan. So I'd say it's fairly juiced up Q5 that definitely deserves more money than a GTI / Golf R / Q5. But does it really justify the premium Porsche is asking these days? I honestly don't think so. Still, I think everyone will agree that Porsche is really milking the Porsche brand for all it is worth. As good as all the different variants of the latest 992.2 are, C&D / MT are both saying that the base model 911 is now the sweet spot in the 911 line up partly bcos of how steep Porsche has set its pricing. Typically, that sweet spot designation goes to the GTS trim. Quote:
