I dunno. Seems to me all of these things are just desperate measures to cost-cut to stay afloat, rather than "poor taste" and "bad decisions" as they're framing it. E.g. the inconsistent and weird fonts being used in badging: probably because they were sourced from lowest-bidder suppliers.
VW, Audi, Porsche its all the same trash. They are all going downhill. VW will die first given how mismanaged and unprofitable the brand is.
Just look at the paint blobs on my hitlerbox trunk!
It looks like i painted it with a spray can. Pretty much on par with my LC500 toy car paintjob.
I was watching this factory tour of the 911 and its not any better than a VW factory. All of it goes down the same assembly line. From your 911 S/T which is like almost 500k, down to a base model 911 thats 150k. Same trash. Look at the engine assembly. just some retarded bloke who doesnt give a rats ass putting it together in an average shop that isnt even hermetically sealed from dust/debris. Not wearing anti-static clothing like the Japanese.
The amount of idiots working on the car to spit them out is the same as a VW GTI.
Only 1-2 takumi craftsmen work on the vehicle at a time. Per day they can only turn out 18 or so cars for the entire global market as only this factory builds it.

I thought chinese people loved audi cause the logo looks like the number 8 sideways lmao
Audi led the game with the R8 and the LED running lights and RS vehicles with unique engines (V8 in the RS4, V10 in the RS6) Now most of them are a derivative of a VW engine aside from the 5 cylinder.
The only VW I attempted to buy was like a mk5 vr6, but then gave up afterwards. There's interesting cars but then there were none that won't financially ruin you. W8, plaeton, TDI v10, w12, s6 v10. Even the s4 both will ruin you V8 and v6. Like there's nothing worth buying, just under steer and engine out unreliability.
This gti won’t probably ruin you. But like all modern cars, the carbon build up can happen with as little as 40,000kms (especially in city driving, short distances and with subpar gasoline)

I mean… you gotta be like that to even want to make a video in the first place “Yes I do think people want to watch me pontificate about x y z I’m going to film myself!” but most people do a better job of hiding it lol
When's the last time you saw somebody buy a new audi?
i hardly see them on the road anymore. I think ive seen more RS models than their plain jane lineup. Actually ive seen more porsches than audi's. They just dont appeal to the the average german car shopper anymore. At least you know bmw's are moving. i see pig nosed m3/m4/i4's everywhere and those iX's and fugly 7 series are dime a dozen.

He’s one brave ass motherfucker. To buy an all road NEW after the previous gen all road was notoriously known as the most unreliable piece of shit on the planet.

And no. Each generation isn’t better. Look at my stupid mk8 shitbox. What a garbage can on wheels that is compared to the mk7

B9/9.5 is peak Audi IMO. Better than B8 and the leaky oil piston rings, and better than B10 and that stupid ass haptic touch crap and gloss black everywhere.
B9 gen has been very reliable, I have only had 1 issue and that was resolved as a TSB that took 45 mins to do at the dealer.
MK7 was peak VW GTI/Golf R as well IMO. MK8 is faster but a step down in quality.

This is one of the FEW times I agree with people complaining.
They're also going to complain about the fix.... which looks like full width Lincoln style screens.
I'm not supposed to know this but (ex in my case) product planners talk.
This is 100000% a people and politics problem in Germany.
1) Management has 0 clue what to do with software.
If the software supported 'x' feature, they'd put a checkmark on their PRINTED excel spreadsheet: there was NO requirement for reducing # of clicks/being intuitive in general.
C-suite fixed this by buying Rivian.
2) No, the engineers don't need more autonomy.
Their product development is stuck in old ways which costs a shit ton of money so they:
Overspent on fixed engineering/tooling costs for legacy shit.
Underspent on value engineering so stuff works better with HEV/PHEV/EVs.
3) Badging/steering wheel BS happened because a VP needed to keep headcount.
C-Suite fixed this by starting a new team at Scout to move fast .. and "inspire" the rest of the company.
VW will be in a wheelchair in a decade.
GM, Ford, BMW, MB, Toyota, BYD and Geely will be the only ones left standing.
Yeah vw group will be kaput shortly. They cannot adapt to the changing times and that no ICE sale mandated by the EU is killing them. They aren’t remotely competitive to EV leaders and they are bleeding out cash.
So much so that they have to overcharge all these Porsche douchebags to at least keep that part of the business afloat
