went with a friend to check out a C63 at audi richmond first thing the guy says is "no negotiating, final price, no test drives" starts up and theres a weird tick from the engine :lol and the engine was warm too buying cars is awful nowadays |
go tell Audi Richmond sales to go eff himself? You are trying to sell an used vehicle without test drive? Uasually like this, I will tell the sales to introduce me to their sales manager, I will deal with the manager, and just make it a house deal... lol |
I thought I would share this because somehow, when I came into this thread earlier, Revscene and Google Ads decided to judge me. https://i.imgur.com/5rIx5Cf.jpeg Revscene and Google are not wrong, though. :okay: |
I guess I shouldn't tell RS that Failbook and YouTube have been showing me ED ads? Perhaps it knows something that I don't?! |
We need a "your latest RS ad" thread, with people posting pics like bcrdukes |

In Evo's experience, I would have been more adamant about only checking for that thing. Cause if it doesn't have it, I'm not buying it. So why waste both of "our" times. I get that dealers are tryna curb tire kickers, but to that same degree I think if you're adament with your approach, they'll want to make it work. But I think I'm also not afraid of confrontation, so it's very simple to me - "I'm looking to purchase a car in the immediate future. This car is in my shortlist and this is what's going to happen." Or if you want to be a dick about the questionnaires, you could also just you don't consent to your private data being collected, etc etc |
Man dealers still have that covid attitude for cars? and now it's $1000 document fees lol. Can't deny the pleasant buying experience of a tesla compared to dealers. |
LOL WTF... I AM THE ONE WHO IS BROKE AF, but my RS ads says otherwise... Why google needs to let me know there is a 16.9 million Veneno for sale... I can not tell you... https://i.imgur.com/kCnZ2bJ.jpeg but honestly..... I wouldnt blame the sales too much, they actually have very little control over the sales experience... it comes from the TOP DOWN... and sometimes not even the sales managers calls the shots.... i am not implying anything hint hint wink wink.. but lets say now the Hyundai Richmond is under new management... it err... lifes hard... my coworkers are painting a pretty grime picture.... |
Thank god you bounced. Otherwise you would have been absolutely miserable |

I don't mean to rub salt on the wound, but didn't he also buy his Prius brand new? :D Broke AF my ass. :accepted: |
well he does daily a 3 million dollar "car" so i guess that's par course. |
Is CELOC a thing? Car Equity Line of Credit? With all the car hoarding we're doing, imagine if we could unlock a bunch of cash from these investments! |
I think CELOC is for more of the blue chip / upper echelon of car investments, the sort of variety you see at a Sotheby's auction, and not for low-brow daily drivers like a Corolla or Honda S2000. :D |
Nah you have to think bigger. What you do is you buy the LC500, and then take out a CELOC against it to buy the Boxster. And then you CELOC the Boxster to pay for the LC500. It's wins all the way around. You're welcome. |
That's some Jane and Finch logic right there. |
Man, speaking of car hoarding. Something like 8 years ago, my friend saw an ND1 at a Honda dealership in LA and said it was a good spec and he wanted it. So we got 1-way flights for the following Saturday to go and buy the car, sight unseen. We picked up the car and drove it back. Just now, my friend got an email from that dealership. They said it was the anniversary of him buying that car from them, and "hope it's still treating you well!". I go "yeah right. that was 7 cars ago, keep up!" "it may have been more than 7. i have a problem. ...Atom, Spark EV, Fiesta ST, BRZ, i3, Prius, GTI, ND2, Model 3, Cayman GTS, AMG GT, GT3" LOL |
It pains me to admit this but I was once a car and motorcycle hoarder as well. Actually, I still am. Worse. In multiple cities. :fuckthatshit: Curious how your friend liked/disliked the AMG GT. That's a car I'd like to explore but haven't had the time to explore into Mercedes category yet. |
AMG GT are under valued imo... at least on paper, it should be as expensive as any 911 of the same year, that was their benchmark, as well as Vantages, it was suppose to take the middle road of Vantage and 911, but exceed at both ends on specs for both of them.... but no... If you are okay with paddles (and AMG GT is actually one of the better Merc paddle shifters), it is a great buy, and I think they are under apprieciated. For me though, if it has to be my toy, it has to be manual. I already have the autotragic DDs, I am NOT chasing lap times, I want a close ratio manual just to have fun in.... If I ever get the priviledge of owning modern Porsches (ie 996 and newer, I am paying the premium to swap out the final drive to have the ratios closer together) Its not like I am going to chase those 250kph+ top speeds.... |

I know this is any oxymoron but are they even reliable and suffer from catastrophic issues? I'm okay with the paddle shifters. I understand Mercedes has never been good at offering manual transmission, with a few exceptions. This would be a cruiser / GT touring car for me and my wife. I still have a soft sport for the RC-F but they are rare, but also not the same category as the AMG GT. I will reserve the LC500 hoarding to Badhobz. |
The AMG GT is an amazing car, know friends who've owned a GTC. If you are just putting around town it's pricey to operate, but not a HUGE issue. When it becomes a steep hole is when you start tracking it. Friend that owned the GTC is well off, but he traded the GTC for a G80 M3 because track day consumables was insane. He said the performance was phenomenal, but the cost of that performance was also phenomenal. He said 911/M cars is a no brainer if you want to track it. Everyone else the balance is still wrong. |
Probably will not track it. (I'm probably lying to myself.) :fuckthatshit: |
