I've seen these reels from various dealers and it's amazing how much gen z will take on 8+ year loans or trade in cars that are super underwater for clout.

AstulzerRZD 11-26-2025 09:09 AM

u say this like it's a new phenomenon

other than boring brokies insisting on Honda/Toyota like they're the second coming of jesus, who didn't try to buy or finance way too much car in their 20s?

This was 2005. I just graduated from Super Fuckers University and was working in West Vancouver as a Bank teller for HSBC. Busing to West Van was insane and i wanted a car. My first intuition was to buy a Lexus ES300 but once again toyota ownership slipped through my fingers due to the family being FLAT BROKE. My mom gave me 8000 bucks for a down payment and i leased the CTS for like $650 bucks a month. The caddy wasnt cheap, it was almost 40k and i was only able to afford the base model.

Should i have just taken the 8k and bought a used toyota? hell yes, but this is a 21 year old me and i was trying to get as much ass as possible. Its pretty hard to do that in a jalopy.

bcrdukes 11-26-2025 09:57 AM

Badhobz you are a boring brokie :lol

AstulzerRZD 11-26-2025 10:03 AM

Hobz disgust for Toyota is unreal - there's so much of it that it's almost like bro has a nuclear reactor just for Toyota hate

I actually met spy balloon with this car, so its a dream maker

Obviously Badhobz made the right decision to over-purchase the amount of car he could afford at the time, and it paid off big time~! :lol

Let's see who can guess the dealer who sold the car is. The guy is on youtube. Wonder if he will make a video about this.

Thank you for this.

This has become a case study in our finance class. :)

New Lexus GT GR. 600 hp. Half a million. They also realesed a few other models.

Fail. Price tag at close to 350-450k. Who you think you are ? Porsche ? Nobody’s gonna pay that for a v8TT and aluminum body / chassis. Hell my LC has more carbon fibre parts than this thing.

Fail. Interior is boring and ugly

Fail. V8TT at only 4.0L displacement make me think this is an all new engine design. Just like the v35 v6TT, does anyone trust Toyota anymore ?

Fail. Exterior is boring and proportions are ugly.

Fail. 3800lb curb weight.

Success. Thanks for bumping up the value of my LC today.

Traum 12-04-2025 07:48 PM

Hmm... I wonder what their target production numbers are gonna be.

According to Wikipedia, Lexus only made 500 LF-A in total over its 2 year production run, and all of them were only available through leases. (Then how did the blue one ended up being purchased by someone locally and stowed away for some 10+ years?)

Is Toyota gonna be stupid and only make a handful of them while putting them onto leases again?

Badhobz 12-04-2025 07:51 PM

That would be the only way to keep values high, but none of this car is that exclusive. Doesn’t really have an exotic engine or exotic materials. This is going to be a sales disaster for Toyota. Worst of all the Lexus LFA EV is sacrilege, although the design of that car is excellent. If they put the v8TT in the body they would have my money.

pastarocket 12-04-2025 09:30 PM

Toyota’s decision to build the LFA concept as an EV is hard to understand.

Global sales of electrical vehicles decreased this year across many countries.

This new LFA needs to be gas powered!

I like the exterior design though. The car is a beauty.

Good decision to get rid of the spindle grille in my opinion.

The Lexus GT GR will appreciate to unheard of levels. Quote me in 5 years.

EvoFire 12-04-2025 10:59 PM

641hp from a TTV8 seems weak

The hood is way too long on the GT, the car seems overstyled overall, so it better be function over form.

It's a shame the LFA is going to be an EV. I get it, Toyota needs a halo EV car but it's a shame that body is an EV.

Badhobz 12-05-2025 06:41 AM

They better not take that v35 v6TT and add two additional cylinders. That engine is a disgrace to Toyota.

bcrdukes 12-05-2025 07:33 AM

They will totally do that! :fuckthatshit:

EvoFire 12-05-2025 08:20 AM

The displacement doesn't match, and the 3.5 should be a long stroke engine.

Badhobz 12-05-2025 08:41 AM

Ah it looks like it’s just two glued together new 2.0 4 cylinder with turbos.

https://www.motortrend.com/news/new-...ogy-first-look

RabidRat 12-05-2025 10:30 AM

Why not glue 4x of the three-cylinder GR Corolla motors together!

4x G16E-GTS = 6.4L V12, 1200hp!

A bit further on in the same paragraph in Wikipedia...

Quote:

Lexus later changed their stance and allowed outright purchase, but only on the condition that they sign an agreement giving the dealer the first right of refusal to buy back the LFA if the owner wanted to sell it within the first two years. The dealer would have the option to buy back the used LFA for either fair market value or the original sticker price, whichever is lower.[44] In the European market, buyers could order their LFA through a single Lexus dealer located in Park Lane, London where it was purchased outright.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LFA#Production
So maybe Toyota has learned from lessons past?

It's Toyota, hopefully they're going to be super conservative to avoid the engine blowing up. The hood is super long because it's FM - front midships - they've pushed the engine behind the front axle.

I get the FM thing and I expect no less for a front engine hipo build, but that front overhang is utterly ridiculous.
