https://www.theguardian.com/technolo...tian-extremism

The Anti-Defamation League has labelled Charlie Kirk's organization, TPUSA, as being extremist. The ADL is an anti-nazi organzation that fights anti-semitism.

Elon Musk is in a rage about this and has called the ADL a hate group - the ADL has previously defended Musk after Musk made a "Roman salute" at a Republican event.

As you all know I'm a simple man but when an organisation that is ok with Nazi salutes says that the views of Charlie Kirk's organization are extremist I guess that must mean something.

mikemhg 10-01-2025 10:26 AM

Been saying this for a minute, hence I didn't even feel like going back and forth with Hehe, it is a waste of my time.

If you're blind to the Christian nationalist movement and its storied history in the US, you would not be able to read the dog whistling Kirk and his shitty non-profit organization TPUSA is pushing.

Fuck them.

68style 10-01-2025 10:41 AM

But it’s encouraging conversations and discourse Mike, prove me wrong!!!1!!11!!!

And no I won’t interrupt you every 5 seconds with a tangent or whataboutism :derp:

mikemhg 10-01-2025 12:31 PM

I doubt a guy coming out of Argentina (Hehe), a country built on its own extensive storied issues with historical racist ideologies would understand anyways :lol

Keep fighting the good fight Hehe, hopefully those whities will fully accept your people as their own eventually :)

Meh.

Meh.

I have had a lot of issues with racism growing up as you said. But that never stopped me or my family to do great.

As a matter of fact, my dad went from a net worth of barely 6 figures to 8 figures during his stay there (about 15 years). In his car perspective, he went from a crappy cheapo used Ford Falcon to brand new Range Rover while there.

That’s why I could never believe when someone says racism is an issue when it comes to making big. It’s only how you see it. If you constantly want to believe that it’s the systematic racism that’s holding you down, then you’d never fight against it.

I personally just don’t see it as an issue but rather motivation to work harder.

And once you make it big, they would be begging you to join their group. Whether it’s investor group or philanthropy. The amount of ass licking I’ve seen is unbelievable. And that’s coming from people of all races.

Just got back from my china trip, I thought it was going to be a shit hole based off everyone's negative sentiments.

It's cleaner than Vancouver, no human or dog shit on the floor, and you can buy so much luxury :lawl:

When I saw blue skies in Shanghai, I thought it was supposed to be super polluted, I'm so confused.

Hate to say it but.. Western/European propaganda. I think we're the brain washed ones LOL.

While my experience was similar back in 2019, I think it's fair to say that there is also the possibility that we, as tourists, may not get to see. I would disagree that Western/European propaganda is the reason we may feel that China is a hell hole, but there are lots of areas in China that normal tourists don't get to go to, so we don't see the real China, or what happens behind the scenes. On the other hand, China has changed a lot over the past 30+ years.

I did not enjoy my trip to China, no matter how clean or crackhead-free it was. Would I live there? Absolutely not.

I went in 2005 for a week, never saw blue sky once through the smog.
The streets were clean, but there were LOTS of beggars on the street. Not crackheads, but disabled people who seemed like they were cast aside by society.
Also the spitting on the sidewalk... that was pretty gross.
But I did feel safe walking around at night, that street with all the night clubs door to door was kind of neat. Don't like one club? Take your drink to the one next door!

Sounds like they've cleaned up quite a bit in the past 20 years.

BIC totally did not see those kids sewing soccer balls for Nike and putting together my Uniqlo t-shirts nor did he see the concentration camps for the Uyghurs where the Chinese are systematically committing genocide.

It's easy for tourist to visit a place and think things are great in those places. It's the same when old timers think things were better in the old days. I'm sure there's lot of good stuff in China nowadays compared to when I went 20+ years ago - my parents always rave about it but there's plenty you don't get to see if you don't actually live there long-term.

BTW: Does anyone know which Scandinavian country Honda ended up moving to?

Do share. Heading there in a few days actually.

You're Taiwanese. get the fuck out of my city you separatist bastard!

Shanghai you go for the shopping, food, and thats about it... not the most scenic city.

but this sort of shit is cool

Shanghai Zhujiajiao Ancient Town Tourist Zone <-- instead of going to suzhou, you can just do this fake ass version.. suzhou is still better, go there instead)
Former French Concession Zone <-- best of colonialism, my parents' ancestral home is in this district.
Xintiandi District <--- shopping
Tianzifang <-- arts and crafts and trash
Donghai Bridge <-- rent a car and drive this bridge, itts pretty awesome. its insanely long, and connects a few islands to the mainland.

They probably poured all that spicy soup into the river. That hotel was $120 cad a night for 600sqft, 50th floor lol

westopher 10-01-2025 04:42 PM

I went to Banff and it was clean as a whistle. No homeless people and snow capped mountains everywhere! This country couldn’t possibly have any issues.

Gerbs 10-01-2025 04:45 PM

There were no beggars, disabled chopped up ppl begging, crackheads.

People don't even spit that much either which is odd. There's no honking and 80-99% of the cars are EV.

At one point, we had to nam squat, smoke and start spitting to become the stereotype.

We drove by semi conductor factories where workers get free housing and meals but work 9-9-6. Apparently it's great economic opportunity from people goin from tier 4 farmer life to tier 3/2ish wealth.

Please send videos of the genocide or kids factories from live leaks.

Kind of conflicted, if these factories for Nike or Uniqlo didn't exist what economic opportunities would tier 4 kids have.

I'm being slightly facetious about child labour - that's mostly moved to other poor countries but the genocide is not really in dispute. If you're saying it's not true your head is buried under the sand.

Genocide watch has China at stage 9 out of 10 (extermination) for their actions against the Uyghurs people. https://www.genocidewatch.com/country-pages/china

A simple Google search shows plenty of human rights organizations reporting on this - China doesn't get punished for it b/c it's simply too powerful to be punished.

Canada is not a nation without sin, both past and present, but China's current actions in Xinjiang are full of sin even as they move their people forward in incredible ways.
