anyone remember the battletech cartoon of the 90's or am i the only old fart here?
Looks like you got short-changed on your missile pods though. Seems K'nex only had parts sized for *squint* LRM 5??
*screeching high pitch laughter*
i actually bought 2 when i found them, kept one in box for when my kids were older to build with them but never got to it. also couldn't decide what to build as it also made an Avatar. i was stuck between 2 mad wolf / timber cats or 1 of each.
any GI Joe fans?
when kreo released the HISS tank i had to have it, was one of my first big toys and wanted a block version
and then the dollar store was selling $5 knock off ones (real garbo blocks) and i got a few
I still have my gameboy games in storage... does that thing actually play them...? Still have my dark green gameboy from HK too. Nearly mint condition!

i dug out mine when going thru stuff to throw out, mine still works but the glass over the screen comes off (the glue stopped working).
I had to google if it did and it doesn't but apparently someone is working on a mod kit to make it playable
I have two original GameBoys, but the screen has taken a shit on both of them. I looked into replacing them but it's either a) too complicated, or b) comes in an easy to work with form but costs too much.
You can almost buy enough bits to build your own from scratch from all the aftermarket parts available.
My friend had the Game Gear and yes, graphics and colours were amazing in comparison but what a freaking battery hog lol. This was also in the age when batteries were not yet offered as rechargeable. Nintendo designing the Game Boy to only require 4 AA's was pretty genius. I can't remember the details but the way they got the screen to display different shades of black was pretty ingenious too.

i used to use 2 or 3 AA batteries and paperclips thinking i was smart LOL
OMG this one hits home. I remember talking my friend into lending me his Game Gear for something like 2 or 3 days (or maybe it was for a weekend, I dunno), and during those few days, I was pretty much glued to the thing. It made my Game Boy feel like such a piece of primitive b&w garbage.
But the battery drain was crazy. I didn't understand at first why my friend also included the AC adapter when he lent me the thing. Wasn't this supposed to be a portable that you can carry around? I very quickly found out how much of a battery hog it was.

I carried mine around in the car to play sometimes, and I also had (have!) a cigarette lighter adapter for it to power it hahaha
I’ve also got the original Master System adapter so you plug that into the back of the Game Gear in the cartridge slot and then you can insert and play Master System cartridges as well! Not exactly small and portable anymore at that point haha
Fun fact my Master System and Game Gear both are labelled “Made in Hong Kong” I wonder when was the last time HK did any electronics manufacturing like this?

I didn’t know about the Kreo ones but I grabbed some of the $5 dollar store sets they’re great for the price but man do they not stick together well, putting them together is an incredibly tedious effort of putting something on and something else falls off and needing octopus arms to hold it all together lol!!
