That thing in space is the Phantom Zone, the place where Jor-El had banished Zod.

Not even close, no television production works on that kind of schedule.

I worked on SV last season and SV only shoots about 6 episodes ahead of time, usually filming 2 episodes at a time. So right about now SV should be filming episode 6 and 7 for this season.

The writers have a general idea of the direction they want to take the storylines at the beginning of the season but they are constantly writing and rewriting. Scripts are due usually 6-7 weeks before air date.

I remember watching an episode where Lex absorbs some power that is almost superior as Clark (of course, not exactly the same)...and in that episode, Lex had a wound and then he watched it heal in an instant.

Someone who is more familiar with Smallville can clarify this.

Her baby is probably some meteor freak. Kinda farfetched, but it would be crazy if Lex somehow imbedded Clark's DNA from a couple seasons ago into that baby. (I dunno if he still has that blood sample from awhile back)

As much as we'd all like to see Clark and Lana back together, or maybe not, the story goes that he will end up with Lois.

On a different note, Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) said the next season will be his last. Maybe Smallville only has one year to go. and I can't really see the show doing well without him.

Smallville could have been much better. If they did something like 24 does, which is 1 episode leading to another and so on. Instead, it's a freak-of-the-week kind of thing. I still loved it though. I have been watching it from the beggining.

If you read the fan forums, Lana will be killed off in a few episodes!!! This is will make Clark even more angry at Lex and their friendship will end indenfinately!!! Lex will come back for until the show ends. . . it would be silly for producers not to sign Lex all the way through because they need to end the series with him in it. As we all know, Lex plays a big role later on in the Superman movies so there's no way they can kill him off in Smallville.
