they are talking about making it completely wireless controllers between the wii remote and nunchuck. Damn i wonder if now is a good time to have all 4 controllers? or wait until they released a completely wireless set. Does that mean i will have to buy the remotes everything from the start again? or the nunchuck will just be compatible with the original wii remote..

i don't think GC controllers work on most VC games. my gf tried using the GC controller to play bomberman and that didn't work. she had to turn the remote horizontally and play it like that.

the classic controller is probably your best bet..they are alot easier to find than regular controllers. i just have the one classic controller and i kinda like it ...if they released an original SNES controller to hook up w/ the wii i'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Even if you buy the Wii and get 4 of everything, it's still cheaper than buying a 360 with 4 wireless controllers or a PS3 with 4 controllers (not that anybody would buy 4 for a Playstation anyways).

There's an easier fix for this - go help you friends find a Wii so they'll have a wiimote and nunchuk to bring over next time you play games. If they can't afford a Wii, they're not cool enough to be your friend, lol

well ya... u get what u paid for... i don't mind the wii... but the graphic is really really bad for some games... like red steel... reminds me of playing the n64 ~ and at least if u buy a 360 or ps3... you are paying for the actual component since the 360 and ps3 wasn't making any money off of it in the beginning... compared to the nintendo wii which the cost to make was only 100bux us according to some spokeperson from nintendo.

Quickest way of doing it is bringing in your games and let them scan in the barcodes and see their trade-in value. Otherwise if you phone them, you'll have to wait for them to type the names in - I worked with a lot of fucking retards (Boy am I glad I don't work in the mall anymmore!)

Oh yeah, anything released before PS2 probably won't be worth more than $1.00

So i did..i asked the EB guy how much it was..he said $69.99, and i was thinking there is no way its this expensive. So i went over to Wal-mart right beside it (lougheed mall) they are selling for $44.86! but because i have some gay credits left from EB i wanted to get rid of it. ¢×told the guy at EB to price match it, he said no way in hell they are doing tat unless u have a receit, or fliers. I said wal-mart dont do fliers on games, wat about website? he laughed at me again sayin website dont mean shit, anyone can hack into the website and make their OWN price..i was thinking wtf..so i had to go thru the hassel going to Wal-mart to purchase the god damn thing and come back to EB to show the motherfucker, and he looked at the receit in DOUBT...mumble some shit and price matched but didnt beat it by 10% (realized after i went home) or else the price should be $30 dollar difference! than i had to go back to Wal-mart and return the game...bunch of bullshit tatz for sure

* Find Mii - Crowds of Mii characters will gather on the screen (standing, swimming, walking and doing other things) and the player is given certain details to look for among them. The player then must pick out the proper Miis that matches the objective. The objectives range from picking two or three Miis that are identical, to picking the fastest Mii, or the odd Miis out (doing things that other Miis aren't).

* Pose Mii - A player must move his Mii to falling bubbles using the Wii remote pointer. The player must also rotate his Mii to the correct angle of the bubble by rotating the Wii remote. In addition to this, as the game progresses, the poses inside the bubbles change, and the player must select the correct pose (out of 3 total). When a Mii is correctly posed in a bubble, it bursts. If a bubbles is not burst and it eventually falls to the floor, the game is over. In the two player game, each player has different coloured bubbles, but they may pop each other`s bubbles for extra points.

* Shooting - Players go through various rounds of shooting balloons, targets, clay pigeons, cans and UFOs. There are targets that have the faces of the player's Mii's which give points when the opponent's Mii is shot. Ducks drawn in the style of the ducks from Duck Hunt also occasionally fly by.

* Billiards - Players play 9 Ball Billiards like traditional pool games. Players line up their shot in both an overhead 2D and behind-the-ball style 3D viewpoints. They may aim for contact on the cue ball at any point to add spin or bounce or a weird angle. They pull the cue stick (Wii remote) backwards, then hit it forward to launch the ball.

* Charge! - The player rides a cow by holding the Wii Remote sideways, and topples scarecrows to score points. The Wii Remote is also tilted forward to increase speed, and backward to decrease speed. The player must also jump barriers by jolting the Wii remote upwards as if jumping.

* Tanks! - This game uses the Wii Remote D-pad (or nunchuk attachment) to move a tank about the screen. The player aims on a target and fires shells. Shells can rebound off walls once. Mines can also be placed (by pressing the A button) that destroy all tanks within a certain radius. The aim of the game is to destroy enemy tanks while avoiding being destroyed yourself. There are 20 misions (stages) initialy but after achieving a gold medel by completing the first 20 missions, you may play through again to find that there are now 100 missions with more different types of enemy tanks to battle you way against. There is a multiplayer mode on this as you both play to gain the most kills but at the same time trying to get through the missions (if you both die then you end the game and your scores are added up) this makes the game more of a team based rivalry, both helping each other yet competing against each other at the same time. The further you progress the more variations in the enemy tanks are revealed, enemy tanks gain attributes like firing rockets, having the ability to lay mines, firing off more than one shot at a time, having multi-bounce fast rockets or even becoming invisible.

So I actually took my Wii on WiFi today, and was surprised to discover that there was a new channel that you could download on the Wii Shop Channel.

Called "Everybody Votes"... You have to download it from the Shop (it's free), and also install a system update to get it working

It's somewhat intriguing... Seems pretty useless at the moment though.

Basically you go in and there are set questions limited to your geographic location and worldwide questions. You can vote a or b on a question and also pick which answer you think will win.

When voting stops you get the stats on stuff like how much you are like everyone else. You can send suggestions to nintendo for future questions.

DKC is awesome and everything, but the controls when you use a GC controller are a little difficult :/

The Y and B buttons are a bit far from each other, and awkward to use together (you have to press/hold them at the same time frequently).

Gotta run to FS/BB ASAP and get me a classic controller so it can feel just like the original SNES version :D

I actually had a TurboGrafx-16... It was the first game system that I got when I came to Canada, and I loved it more than the SNES! (at the time)

Yeah dude. My original Wii unit had a memory problem and I took it to Nintendo and they replaced it free under warranty. They gave me a brand new console and managed to transfer all my data - HOWEVER... I wasn't able to edit my Mii's on the new console :(

So I basically said fuck it and just sold it all away in hopes I'd find another Wii soon and just mod it.

Unfortunately, I've been looking and it seems like there are less and less chances of getting a Wii. Guy at superstore said the Nintendo rep told them it'll probably be 2 months until you can walk into a store and pick one up.

On a brighter note: I got a mod for my NDS! Something to hold me over till I get another Wii :)

I beat the game in early December, and yes, I do agree that the controls and the game itself are both masterpieces.

I could be wrong if he changed the prices recently, but last time I went (yesterday), COMPC was asking $100, but a few stores down, some other store was asking $120 incl. installation.

People get a mod because the WII isn't region free. Some people want to play important games. -____-;;
I'm not buying two WIIS just to play some Japanese games. If anything go blame Nintendo, even the PS3 is region free.

Well games or console, one or the other still works fine. It's be pretty lame if they change it. If they do that US needs to start importing more games. There's a ton of good Japanese games that never make it into English, esp. RPGs =[

well ps3 ain't exactly region free... but the bluray region is the same as asia :P so it can play jap games ~ region free enough for me ^^

bluray movies are the same region coded games not ... the only thing that's region restricted on my ps3 is the ability to play ps2 import games and other regions dvd... as for ps3 games it can play all ntsc games but not pal i guess

The wires aren't supplied with the Wiikey. I installed mine last Friday at work... lol. What I did was put an inch or 2 of duct tape (long enough for the Wiikey) on the metal part of the dvd-rom and solder the wires (try to get the thinnest wires) to the Wiikey and to the pads on the Wii. After soldering the wires, I placed the Wiikey on top of the duct tape and put some more duct tape around the top so it doesn't short-circuit the chip. I'm pretty sure there's an easier place to put the chip. Overall, it's pretty easy to install for a first timer like myself.

get some wires around 30AWG from the source or wherever. first thing to do is to tin ur wires. use flux paste and put a tiny amount on the wire to help solder flow ~ and put a tiny coat on the solder points on the pcb. the pcb don't need to be tinned coz those points already have solder on it ~ so melt a tiny bit of solder on the iron ~ tin the wire, apply heat to the wire and it should transfer the heat to the pcb assuming u used flux and the wire is tinned. the whole process shouldn't take more then 1 sec. if you leave the iron on the board too long you risk overheating and burning off the pads ~ as for where to put ur chip ~ best place is the metal plate on the dvd ~ and u really only need to strip off like .3cm on the wire... if u strip too much you risk the wire touching other wire or pads that it's not suppose to. personally i think best is to have ur wire lie flat on the pcb less bend on wire = less chance of it failing later

There is NTSC-U/C, NTSC-J, PAL, etc.

When/If games start being region protected, you will no longer be able to play games from Japan. You'll only be able to play NTSC-U/C games on an NTSC-U/C system. The Blu-Ray region is completely irrelevant in games.

hmm i thought the games itself are already NTSC/PAL coded? i mean my import games are NTSC-J and my north american games are NTSC. at least it say so on the box ~
