I think this Derek guy is actually trying to point out the pot rally it is a slap in the face for the police department. Having so many people gather to celebrate a banned substance shows their lack of effectiveness in the so called 'drug war'.

I would have brought out the riot police with water cannons, that would have cleared the steps pretty fast.

Possesion of marijuana IS against the law in case you haven't heard.
I feel sad for people that smoke weed actually. If your life is shitty enough that you need drugs to escape reality then you have bigger problems than smoking an illicit substance.

You'll hate to know that a significant number of the doctors, lawyers, and dentists out there (in addition to a many other high educated professionals) all smoked pot when they were younger, and some still do to this day.

Anyone who smokes pot or does drugs is an idiot. There's absolutely no need to use illegal substances like that and by doing it you just prove how stupid you really are. It doesn't do your body any good whatsoever.
Police should have entered the rally and arrested random people. You can't get them all, but you can get some. Make an example out of them by throwing them in jail, fining them... We don't need losers like that.
