anyone beat the solo campaign on veteran? i beat it the first run thru on regular and im trying to get thru it again on vet. some levels like in the favela im dieing like 15 times between checkpoints!

veteren to me was easy as shit (xbox 360)

use your teammaets they hella good in this one, you can even camp most spots and let them do the work.


most of the time you gotta hit a checkpoint.. either by killing a certain ammount of enenimies so that your teammates can rush up..

also sometimes the checkpoint is not directly in front of you ( as in distance to objective etc.)

try using other routes / cover instead of runnign straight through and you should be able to get a objective/checkpoint

you dont even have to kill all the enemies to hit the next checkpoint.. just certain ones sometimes so that you trigger somethign on the map so u can hit the checkpoint/teamamtes move up


be prepared to die ALOT

I dont find that stopping power really does anything, i can shoot a guy in the back 2x and he will die either way.

I was doing that yesterday i was trying to get the experience points for marathon and lightweight i went 25-4 without shooting a bullet.
I had some of my best games just using a knife but it gets boring fast :)

I'm running the PC version. No mods, there are hackers though. I've only encountered one so far.

There's apparently wall hack, aimbot, plus unlimited AC130. Fucker was just shooting the WHOLE MAP.

IW has like half the employees and can barely put on 1 CoD game every 2 years, not to mention the previous game gets thrown in the ditch. The number 1 feature for an online game is SUPPORT (imo) very few companies get it right, only blizzard and valve come to mind. TF2 ftw.

there are very few third-party source engine games, just like valve source games cod4 and mw2 are the same engine with slight upgrades.

Blizzard to this day still releases patches for Diablo 2 (1999) and Starcraft (1998).

Valve developed Online GAMES

Counter Strike (1999 - 4 updates in 09, half-life1 engine updates in 2008 for 10+ y/o engine)
Counter Strike Source (2004 - latest update in august)
Team Fortress 2 (2007 - 20 updates since APRIL, multiple free content updates this year)
Left 4 Dead PC(2008 -20 updates since March, free campaign released)


meanwhile Valve is also developing HL 2: Episode 3, has released Left 4 Dead 2 this week.

my point was valve an independent studio with a staff of 250, runs STEAM, develops new games, and supplies regular updates for their games that came out years ago.

i'm just saying I'd like to see some support if I'm going to buy a game, IW released like 6 patches for CoD4 and one free mappack (not even free, sponsored by nvidia,that had reskinned-renamed maps from previous CoDs).

I love TF2's Dev's. There's updates for each new addition is always humorous and it seems as if they really do enjoy updating.

I honestly thought the game was fine the way it was when it first came out and was surprised by the constant updates to-date.

Also, I spent too much time in COD5 zombie in the past months and degraded my "real life" skill too. I had 2200 kill in der riese with 3 ppl without using wunderwaffle and 550+ head shots (25%+ headshot). All with PS3 controller.

Yeah, 1:1 is perfectly fine... it's getting harder and harder to do nowadays due to the glut of experienced, skilled players as casual gamers move to console.

I can usually stay within the top five on any given server, unless a whole bunch of clan/super high ranking players are playing, and I make it a point to kill someone before I die in ever spawn. :thumbsup:

COD4 was the first game i bought for 360 and my first consol FPS and I ended up around a .95 K/D after a long learning curve of games that were like 4-30. haha

MW2 I had a slow start and was down to about .79 but Im now up to nearly 1.20 K/D and its still climbing. Id say in the last 30 games I've been above a 2.0.


I dont know how you can expect everyone to be above 1:1. for every kill, someone has to have a death. and if you knock off the unreal top players, and the complete noobs, the majority of people will fall in the .75-1.25. of the 10 or 12 people on my friends list with MW2, only 3 of them are above 1:1

also, some people might set up their class and stick with it. while other people might use guns that suck with iron sights and shitty perks trying to get 'everything'. one way will lead to more easy kills than the other. id rather get a score of like 20-10 than one of 6-1, at least you were involved in the game. or like a sniper camping a flag in domination vs a bomb runner in S&D.

Playing HC I rarely get assists, and some of the specialty modes you either get the kill or they get you, not many assists.

enemy doesn't pop out of nowhere and shoot you from left/right/top/back...

There is no team work, and most of the maps don't seem to have any formation so you never know when/where to expect your enemy...

Not much long range shootout as well. Most of the kills are either close combat or kill streaks

Its pretty easy
Pick up Sentry run to diner, place sentry by door
-hide behind the counter and snipe guys as they come in
-level 4-5 pick up the 2nd sentry by the tables
-rocket launchers and other weapons spawn on the tables as you go through each wave :thumbsup:

yeah as long as their mic is decent I can hear them great, I love the nice big mute button too so I dont have to be one of those people you hear having a conversation with someone else while playing (and thusly mute in game). Yeah I'm doing that right now and slowly getting used to it. I was a PC gamer for years starting back with UnrealTournament so keyboard/mouse is like ingrained in my brain.

Just looked up my KDR on PC for MW1, 2.3:1 lifetime. I don't go less than 2 or 3 to 1 in MP these days but I don't think I'll be repeating that on PS3 :haha: When I consider myself decent I'll post up my username so I can play some fellow RS'ers!

oh btw, i found that the easiest was to level is go for free for all.
lots of kills so you get your weapon challenges.
which gives you points.
300 kills for every weapon is 10,000 points. more than enough to level if you are under 30

That's the thing. I HATE using the M16 because EVERYBODY used it back in COD4 and I feel a bit dirty using it. I'd rather break the mold and use the TAR, I've got a better record with full-auto weapons, but the FAMAS is also pretty solid.

I only run the RPD with a RDS/Holo sight because it's pretty accurate on its own.

Normal. You just need to get used to it because MW2 has so many possible entry/exit into a given area, and a lot of possible sightlines for snipers/long-range shots.

Just practice aiming. Don't always sprint btw if you are cause that slows you down in taking out your gun when you approach a enemy. Learn to walk just like CS:S. And yes learning the maps is a huge help.

It should be how many kills you get with that specific gun. The dual is called Akimbo. Check your gun if it has that attachment.

Lightweight Pro helps with aiming after running, but then you can't run Stopping Power if swift kills is your thing.

All the SMG's, all the Machine Pistols, all Handguns, the Ranger and the Model 1887 shotguns can run the Akimbo.

I use M93 Raffica with Akimbo and Silencers and is really unfair at close-range lol.

I've been running care package, sentry, harrier for my killstreaks. the sentry has been working well for me usually getting 5 kills a time or so. the only downside is anything dropped from a crate doesnt count to your killstreak. and my care packages have been total garbage lately almost always counter-uav's and ammo drops.

^That is THE set up for getting the nuke and racking up kills as far as killstreaks go. Beginners will have a hard time getting to the 7 kill streak though but after that its pretty easy from 7-11kills. Accuracy is sitting around 23 ish I htink while my KDR is 1.60. Some of my friends are at 1.75-2.00 but a friend I know is at 4.05 jesus christ.

that took me and my bro a while....

i found the .50 cal sniper rifles actually kill juggernauts better than any 5.56 rifles. another options is use machine guns with lots of rounds with none-stop shootings. ;)

Don't have the Holo sights yet, or is that just personal preference? I've heard that the Holo sights give better aim, but this setup is a monster if you can deal with being outgunned by a SCAR.

For my FAL setup, I changed the ACOG out for a Thermal, and went 22-4 on a Hardcore TDM on Wasteland, it's fun killing snipers.

I've found great success with the silenced+heartbeat WA2000, dual Rangers, Bling Pro, Cold-blooded and Steady Aim Pro. I might try Ninja, to see if it is more useful than the increased aim time.

I've switched over from regular. It gets easy to find out where bitches are, and I just snipe them back with a FAL and move on.

EDIT: I've been using a Silenced M21 lately. The M21 and WA2000 are like the only sniper rifles that let you be mobile. No one hears you running with Ninja Pro so that's why I find snipers a bit easy to kill once I see them.

Basically you become a suicide bomber. As soon as you die you will blow up regardless of how you die whether you got knifed, shot, or fell to your death. The explosion from the Javelin is fairly decent so if the other person is within range they will die along with you. Get killed from a distance though and it was all for nothing.

On me, the size large is a good fit if I want to layer underneath, but they're so warm I chose to order some mediums instead for a tighter fit.

^ The levels don't really mean anything. It just tells you how long they've been playing. Really. Technically you should get better when you progress through the levels. Trust.

My KD was so shitty. Like extremely shitty at the lower levels. It's only got better when I hit level 45ish? Maybe I am teh sucks but my KD is now 1.04. It used to be something like 0.44.

Truth! The last 2 COD's I was able to hold just over a 1:1 ratio playing each for a year and in both those games I started out slow well below 1:1 but as my level got higher I slowly creeped back up.

Now fast forward to Modern Warfare 2 and same shiet. I started out slow yet again with like a 0.5 ratio and now at level 49 I've creeped back to 0.87 and climbing. I have no idea what it is because it isn't like I forgot how to play 1st person shooters every time I start but just takes a bit of time.

For me, using the red dot sight instead of the iron sights makes a diff for me. LOL

Dealt with some weird shit on Live this afternoon. First a Hardcore TDM that was 9 on 9 that was NOT a Private Game so I was getting points from it. Then, a public HC TDM that got routed to a Ground War sized Free-for-all that had TWO teams, you could shoot at ANYONE for points, including team mates, and had NO score, just a 10 minute timer. I didn't want to risk being banned for it, so all I got out of that one was the title you get from knifing with no ammo in your gun.

Yea mang I started playing it at like 3pm and after 1.5 hours straight the end was no where in site and I bounced. I wonder what the bonus would have been if I stayed till the end. In game points alone I got like 20K and over 300 kills. Even though the end was no where near it was fucking fun as hell playing that hour +.

i dont know if everyone at infinity ward is on christmas vacation, or was on glue when they coded this game, but the hacking is absolutely unbelievable. the whole multiplayer game is getting completely torn apart with this private-public matchmaking/gamesetup hack. and its taking them forever to fix the holes and release patches.

i gotta admit tho, some of the games ive joined are pretty fun! my K/D is getting shitkicked tho.
