Love this class.

Have another set-up where I swap Sleight of Hand for Bling Pro and go with a SCAR-H with heartbeat and silencer.

I want to get ACR to replace that set-up but too lazy to work through all the kills to get the heartbeat. :(

SCAR-H seriously outguns the ACR up to quarter range. but the ACR is more acurate at medium range. but by the time the ACR outshines the SCAR-H, its already into M16 territory which is far superior. IMO. you almost cant compare the SCAR-H and ACR. the SCAR-H is like an M4 with way more jam. and the ACR is an M4 with more range.

Have been using it since COD5. I never been able to get used to using pad since im from CS generation. Ppl said it's cheating i disagree, many ppl have godly skill with a normal pad compare to PC mouse and keyboard. Personally I dont suck and not super skill either.

I've been running the Deagle Tac-Knife lately with either a silenced ACOG TAR-21 or using Lightweight with a UMP45. I don't really like the SCAR because of the small clip size (I like to burst fire, and 20 rounds doesn't give me much to work with), so I use the TAR since it's the same 1-shot kill on Hardcore.


EDIT: Heads up on LIVE! In some games the AT-4 Rocket Launcher has UNLIMITED AMMO with virtually NO reload. My brother was just in a Hardcore TDM with someone firing it and found that his ACR had unlimited ammo and no reloads. I think the patch fucked a few things up. Keep in mind that not all games are affected.

I bought FragFX V2 SE when it was on sale.

I tested it out in training session and I can never beat my time using controller after half an hour.

It's nice in design, but the firing button (left mouse button) needs a little improvement and the wire sometimes get in the way.

I will try again when the wireless one comes out.

I never use it on any MP and my kill ratio is close to 1.2 now.

There's a big debate over this, but in general any Team based matches will be preferable since you get Team Bonuses.

People say S&D or HQ, but then if you die a lot its not for you. Then there's Domination or Demolition which might suit you better since you can respawn. Just try them all and play what you suceed the most at.

hey, i always go & shoot down enemy UAV with my rocket. Does it actually kill the UAV tho? Like u can get the UAV after 3 kills and pedator missle after 5 kills. So many server problems and kids duking it out verbally. I swear I have hear the f-bomb dropped more often in MW2 by kids than adults in real life. Getting real tiresome. The mute button is a godsend.

Also, I made the mistake of Prestiging too....

it takes about 10 tries to get into a game when i first get on.

and im a lvl 63? now and im almost always the lowest rank. in a 12 person game, im the only non prestige, theres usually five 2nd, at least three 3rds, and a couple 4th prestiges. and then i hear the guys comparing all the time how they have 15-30 career nukes. my highest killstreak is 14. how is that fair matchmaking?

They aren't really hacking they use a glitch to setup private matches with private rules except they use a glitch to make the game count as ranked. So they can have an 18 person FFA game on Rust where the only way to end the game is with a nuke. It's total carnage and people use it just to rank up and gain XP fast as well as unlock certain weapons.

I found myself sucked during lv 45~55. it's like bottleneck and it was the same every time I prestige in COD4. If I sucked after a few games, I will just call it a day and try again tomorrow.

I found 1 out of 4 days of play (2 hours each day), I would suck so much that I don't want to play anymore....

OMG, the F2000 is an awesome rifle in HCTDM. Soooo deadly in close-mid combat. A bit lacking further out.

F2000 has an ass-load of recoil, but I've managed to snipe guys on Highrise who are at the peak of the crane from the ground area where you can jump to get to the roof of the gray building. It's like the furthest point possible to each side. As long as you shoot carefully, any gun can have unlimited range.

TAR-21 is also death in Hardcore.

M16 over FAL at a distance, IMO. With thermal it makes a great substitute for a proper sniper rifle - I like running it with thermal and silencer for Wasteland, Derail and Afghan.

Well, at least in HC. I don't play regular anymore so I can't say. The FAL is a killer rifle before you unlock M16 though. :thumbsup:

On Hardcore the UMP should be 1-shot kill without Stopping Power anyways, there's no point in running that unless you play normal games.

I've swapped over on my main TAR-21 setup to something a little more trigger happy. Reloads are a bit slow, but it's still quicker than the RPD, MG4, or M240.

Thats impressive because of the map no matter how bad the opponents were. Thats all I do is knife with the same setup that guy uses except sometimes I'll use ninja (for silent running) instead of commmando pro depending on the map.

I'm not nearly as good as this guy but I'm getting better. Getting 8 or 9 kill streaks with the knife isn't uncommon. I haven't fired one bullet from a gun in probably my last 6 or 7 hours of playing, I'll I do is knife.

Skidrow, Sub base and airport are the best maps for knifing and wasteland is one of the worst, I hate that map.

I use to be constantly at the bottom and now depending on the map I'm top 3, knifing or nothing the guns are useless to me. :)

And you're right, ganking an all-knife player is not hard at all. Some games I will have beastly games and others I will have absolute dismal games. If people were more aware of their surroundings, it wouldn't be so bad.

You even want to be sicker use the care package glitch. A lot of people know this but all you do is get your 4 kills for the package. You bring out the grenade that calls the airdrop but instead of throwing it start running, you'll run even faster then you do normally with lightweight and you can skill knife. I do this all the time, I run so fast I'll sometimes have to double back in a figure eight and get the guy second time around, hard as fuck for people to shoot you. Commando sometimes works better then ninja especially on maps like Afghan, flying off the cliff and coming in behind the enemy team I'll just keep running a circle waiting for them to come up the side so I can stab em from behind.

It all depends on the map, some maps are not that great for knifing so I don't bother.

and im a lvl 63? now and im almost always the lowest rank. in a 12 person game, im the only non prestige, theres usually five 2nd, at least three 3rds, and a couple 4th prestiges. and then i hear the guys comparing all the time how they have 15-30 career nukes. my highest killstreak is 14. how is that fair matchmaking?

Dude, I'm level 26 and routinely get into games with guys who are 60-70 and have my ass handed to me. I'm lucky to have a 0.45 KD ratio right now.

I like GroundWar especially when there's 18 players. I'm the type to run around by myself and sneak up behind the other team, so I like the bigger games with more opponents to kill. Its also harder for guys to setup to snipe since there's so many players on the map.

Totally crappy and super quick works awesome for unlocking weapons I love it. It's not really taking advantage of others so I don't see an issue with it killing a friend 25 times in a row in a game full of other random people and then nuking on the other hand is super cheap. When you start to prestige up and lose all your weapons the last thing you want to do it level up normally it takes for fucking ever, especially if you have limited playing time like myself. The first 40 levels if really quick but from 40-60 it's tedious and slow.

I pretty much play nothing but groundwar. The nice thing about it is obviously the party chat with friends as well as friends can join your game in progress.

Prestiging gets you more slots to make different characters. Everytime you do it you get another slot, so you hit lvl 70 and then go back to lvl 1 again. If you don't do it then you top out on experience which basically means you're playing but getting nothing for it. I'll do the thing I mentioned above for an hour with a buddy to unlock whatever I want to unlock on a certain weapon then I'll go back to playing groundwar normally.

I switch the assault rifle with the M9 so I do it with two pistols. Some targets will line up for a double hit and that saves a bunch of time.

Doing it with two pistols is actually easier than using a rifle. It forces you to pick your shots and prevents firing off too many bullets at one target (maximizes the accuracy bonus and it'll let you miss a couple of shots).

I've done it solo in the campaign, and when I got the achievement, did it in 29.9, but when I made a second Gamertag for Xbox Live, did it again in 27.8

Use last stand. Sometimes I would get 2-3 kills off of it while in last stand. Play the game normally. It'll come.

All I do these days is get shot in the back. Doesn't seem to matter what the game mode is I'm always flanked immediately and shot from behind, seriously hurting map designs. I find that there's almost never a "line".

Flashbang is your friend. My favorite thing to do is when someone is camping where the only access is a ladder and they're just waiting for someone to come up it. What I do is is have my throwing knife ready and when I'm still on the ladder I throw it right at their head. Most satisfying kill!

I used to suck bad at FPS games. In CS I always had a negative KD ratio. If you know someone who is really good watch them play in person you will learn so much.

I watched my younger brother play and learned things like. Don't be shy with your grenades/flash just throw em at the red dot on your radar or even randomly in small maps. Go prone whenever you reload. Always, remember when you shoot you give your position away so someone new will be running in your direction. Stay low use cover when you're not rushing. Don't sprint around corners but walk. Some times you have get a feel for your opponents if they're the camp and cover type, you can't always be sprinting around the map.

Not as many people use UAV so it's a must for me. I use lower kill streaks but I can use them more often 3-4-5 if my opponents are pro or 3-5-7. Really helps if you want a higher KD ratio.

Those tips are generic, but can work for anyone. The BEST way to learn to play is to take those cues and develop your own style. I choose to find a corner to reload, and THEN peek out to see anyone. "Giving position away"=lure. I learned to sweep rooms, and cross choke points in an effort to draw fire. I also work the perimeter of maps hunting for campers and you usually end up behind the enemy if you do so. Thing is, sprinting everywhere (and knifers will agree with me on this), reveals a whole bunch of shit you could never get if you worked slowly.

Man, on my knifing account, I religiously work the perimiter. I never ever go into the middle or into any choke points. However, long corridors and very open areas are a knifers worse nightmare. If you work the perimiter even if you have marathon on and not knifing, you could get behind the enemy and kill them all in groups. You never want to be in front with the other dolts. You practically want to be far away from your team mates (if you're doing death match) because they are nothing more than "HEY LOOK WHERE I AM ON THE MAP" for you.

It's amazing how many people don't use silencers.

I use the F2000 and TAR-21 alternately, and on Hardcore I can't exactly justify the use of a Silencer if UAV people are so rare. I used to use the TAR-21 ACOG and Silenced, but I dropped it for the long-range accuracy unsilenced, and Sleight of Hand. People are STILL too stupid to use sound and realize that their teammates are being dropped by a loud weapon.

F2000 has that Ghost In The Shell feel to it, kicks so much ass to use on HC.

I still hate the map design, especially Favela and Rundown. All I do is get shot in the back regardless if I'm camping, moving fast, moving slow, doesn't matter. There's not a single choke point anywhere, it's completely unrealistic. They either needed to allow for more players to actually allow for there to be something resembling a fire line, or not have so many ways to flank the enemy. It's not cause I suck or can't handle it, it just makes the game so frustrating to play I actually don't want to play it sometimes.

I'd be down for an RS match sometime.

whenever wasteland comes up, i leave the server. its just a bunch of thermal snipers picking people like me off as we head to the tunnels. I personally dont find sniping fun, so i dont do it.

I like to play free for all and like the others on here i stick to the outside of the map, running around the edge picking people off as i come across them. i just started using care package and have found that getting a good drop like pavelow early can basically win you the match.

I actually every map except for Estate. When it lands on this map I leave the server right away.

Wasteland can be fucking gay when it's all snipers but I love fucking shit up and having battles in the tunnels.

Besides these 2 I have no issues at all with the other maps and love them all in different ways.

EVERYONE just works the outsides of the map. That right there tells you they're flawed. If you stay right along the perimeter you're not getting flanked so easily. On Favela once I actually moved through all the buildings in the middle for a full minute without seeing a single person because literally all other 11 players were running circles around the outside of the map. When maps force everyone to use the same basic strategy you know they're not very good.

Maybe I'm just being too picky, but I like to play mil-sim type games and compared to previous COD's this is an arcade game. Let's be honest, there are WAY too many people that just sprint around the outsides of maps with a pistol and tac knife that use the commando perk to knife you from like 10ft away. If that's the top setup for this game, which it appears to be, then a lot needs to change for MW3. Odds are when Bad Company 2 comes out for PC I'll stop playing MW2 altogether.

The underbarrel shotguns on HC have almost unlimited range and makes it easy 1-2 shot kills. More range than the model 1887's when they were good. I'm just running around with it and its epic WIN.

Calling ANY Call of Duty game a mil-sim is a joke. They're all entertaining military setting 1st person shooter games, but none of them are realistic in any way. If you want a decent mil-sim shooter, check out Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising.

I finally sagged this yesterday, so far it's pretty awesome, the storyline didn't really pull me in like MW1 did so I put that aside for now. Online is pretty sweet, I don't really like that maps as much as the MW1 maps, but then again it's a pretty different game now.

I think why a lot of the comments above were about the Map designs. Especially if you start wonder into the middle areas you can get flanked from pretty much in any direction. As for Avoiding killstreaks get Cold Blooded or get to cover when they show up.

Also, a new mode, Global Thermonuclear War is coming with it, basically a Domination with one control point that's a nuke. First team to control it for 100 seconds gets the nuke, with the last guy on it getting the credit for the countdown (easy way to get a nuke without the 25 kills...).

There's a few vids of the new mode on Youtube, but I leave it up to you to spoil it for yourselves.

I'm trying to work my way up to the tactical knife any tips?

Seems like getting 75 kills is going to take forever, as I don't use it primarily cause I can't do anything with my M9 long range haha.


Easiest way doing it LEGIT is to use the pre-selected class "Ghost Recon" which you already have a magnum + tactical knife. A knife kill with the magnum counts towards as a magnum kill. That's how I got my tac knife insanely fast.

I am a religious knifer and my setup as follows for FFA or SnD:

Ump45 Silienced
Magnum + Tactical Knife
Throwing Knife (I love this)
Smoke Grenade
Perk 1: Marathon Pro
Perk 2: Cold Blooded Pro
Perk 3: Ninja Pro

Also with harrier, you can tell which way its aiming by look at which direction its facing

go play the campaign. learn how guns and the range work
play for about an hour so you get a good feel.

after that, and only after that you should go play online.
you will still get raped because you dont know the maps.
however, at least this way you can kill more people

Shotty attachment on rifles does a good job as well. Twice the range of the Akimbo Model 1887's from before the patch/with FMJ, and is a bit of an easy kill.

Stopping Power
Steady Aim (untill you get comfortable sight aiming quickly) then Comando
Smoke Grenade to help get you out of sticky situations because you wont be able to outgun anyone

Personally, going undetected is the best.

I use one setup to get boss scores.

Primary: Scar-H (Silenced) or ACR (Silenced)
Secondary: Raffica (Whatever attachment you like.)
Equipment: Claymore's and Stun Grenades
Perk1: Scavenger Pro
Perk2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk3: Ninja Pro

I don't remember what levels those perks unlock at if you're at a lower level. But if and when you are able to use them, do it! Plant Claymore's as soon as you get them. Chuck grenades in areas where you don't see a team mate. Knowing where the enemy is while you stay hidden is key!

Also, you don't need red dot sights, etc. Unless you are a horrible horrible aim. Get used to the iron sights.
