Bench means nothing in game as its the 6 slots that actually play, don't know why they keep putting so many bench spots in the dressing room (my guess is they are just lazy to take it out as it might screw with things)

I'll get another copy for PS3 as I had to sell mine last week but when I do I'll join the team and see what's up, I play all my NHL on 360 but I can switch to PS3 for a change of pace and team (they put in a mandatory 12hr "waiver" waiting period from quitting to joining another team)

This is true. When I was on last night there were only 5 max. Average was 3-4. Plus waiting for a game isn't too bad if it's full. We're all nice guys we can sit out a game or two to let others play :p

I dunno how it's done but they somehow glitch the game so that you get stuck in a "waiting for user" screen where the camera just pans around for minutes. Eventually the game desyncs and the game doesn't count no more.

A similar glitch was in NHL 10 before and it really ruined the game. Worse than any glitch goals or hipcheck abuse.



On another note you guys make me want to get NHL for ps3 as well so I cam play on both my friends club and rs club.

1 timers with teams that play alot together can be deadly but I noticed most teams always go with 1 strategy and fall apart if its taken away, perfect example was last night when my bro and I played a team last night that was in Elite on paper but all they did was that 1 shot in the slot everytime, so we just clog the middle and we beat them 2-0 easily ...

I know some people are cheap but I would totally recommend buying at least 1 boost pack (2 way forward or offensive Dman) when starting cause it makes a crazy difference in game and also makes you not want to throw the controller at the screen :)

becuz im sure most of us are not :alone: to spend 100+ hours unlocking boosters LOLOL

it helps a lot until u reach superstar/legend as there will be enough points to reach the potential of hte booster

at the same time, by the time u reach superstar/legend, you have have a majority of the boostslots unlocked already

I always buy a booster pack right off the bat. You're not gonna be able to compete on a decent level unless u do.

And eventually you'll unlock all the boosts and your player will be a superstar and you will no longer use the boost pack.

That's the thing with this year's NHL ... everything seems to be a "grind" to complete ... I'm willing to bet it would take more than a year (after NHL13 comes out) to get 100% of the trophies.

The list doesn't end there... and oh ya ... unlocking skill points is another story entirely ... new this year is you have to INDIVIDUALLY edit, level up & upgrade EACH player position!...
OH and if you don't spend REAL MONEY (damn cash sucking EA) to buy a boost pack, you have to play 2 FULL SEASONS (164 games) of Offline BAP and get something ridiculous like 150 goals ...
Sounds extremely time consuming... oh and don't forget you have to play as Goalie too (online and BAP) to unlock those ...

What a tedious game ... some people have jobs too ya know :p

That's the thing with this year's NHL ... everything seems to be a "grind" to complete ... I'm willing to bet it would take more than a year (after NHL13 comes out) to get 100% of the trophies.
I mean dayum man...:

True... I might grab a couple if I get sick of grinding through the BAP ... I'm doing pretty good without'em though. I got 4g-1a-5p in my last EASHL with our Revscene team hehe ... which boost pack would be the most useful to buy if I was only to buy 1 or 2?

Thing is, it's not HARD to do, it's just time consuming... which means it gets pretty damn boring pretty darn fast ... slamming home 5 goals every offline BAP game at the CHL level waiting to get drafted into the NHL ... I fell asleep playing these ... I've only got 8 games in on that ... :okay:

Pretty tough to play online when my HUT is made up of mostly fringe NHLers, AHLers and Euro league players and I'm playing against some of these other guys with star studded teams.

I also think EA needs to put less emphasis on this deking system as well. Not every player in the game should be able to pull off Datsyuk-like dekes, it makes it less realistic.
