I would like to forward you the following picture and video of one of your FSgt's, a FSgt Jason Li. I received word that he is a member of 655 (a FSgt and a 2IC of a Flight, no less), and as an aged out air cadet, I find this extremely disgraceful and disgusting. There are videos of him involved in using that hockey stick and smashing the windows of which he stands in front of. As well, his list was among those on CBC and the Vancouver Police Department's list of criminals involved in the riot's that happened last night.

At 0:52 in the video above, you can see him enter the screen in the #5 Ehrhoff TShirt, with a hockey stick in hand, and proceed to attempt to destroy the remaining shards of the glass pane.

I have received word from my friends who attend McRoberts Secondary School (the school which he attends) that he was placed under arrest while at school today. I am extremely embarrassed that this is how youth represent themselves nowadays, and moreso with him being an Air Cadet.

Since I didn't want to drink and drive, I left my car at the River Rock skytrain station overnight and slept at a friend's place. I came back to discover my car like this:

- Windshield smashed
- Both side windows smashed
- Rear hatch glass smashed
- Rear hatch dented
- Front passenger side bumper damage
- Rear bumper damage
- Driver's side mirror pulled backwards
- Slurpee all over my hood
- Dents on my roof and my sunroof caved in from someone standing on the car.

Trying to sell the car right now too. A huge dec is going to kill my resale value. I'm probably out $2-3k in resale if not more.

I was downtown too at Ap Gu Jung on Robson. Once we saw the car was on fire we left and got back to Richmond. Watched all the craziness on TV with a pit in my stomach wondering what is wrong with people.

Then I wake up to discover my car like this. I'm just lost for words as to how a city can behave like this. :(

You have to understand, the onus isn't on regular citizens to document this for the cops, it's not your job, while it's admirable and brave for you guys to be out there filming documenting, I feel, personally, that you guys were doing more harm than good. Videos clearly showed that only a small sample of the large contingent were actually doing the rioting. You can see everyone whip out their cellphones and digital devices ready to capture these youtube/twitter/tumblr/fb moments. If everyone just got out of dodge then the police would've had a better handle on the situation.

The rioters only persisted because they used the throngs of people as their shield and camouflage.

While I do kinda agree with what you said, I do have to say that it began more as a small group of people who had set up shop to burn, and break shit which stirred up a whole other category of people to start rioting. Seeing everything at ground level, I can say that most of the people who were actually trying to stir up trouble were those white trash emo "anarchy" kids. Those guys smashed the windows first (not breaking them only cracking them) and move on to other windows in the vicinity. After seeing the windows crack and how easy it looked, everyone wanted in. All it took was 1 person to crawl inside and 50% of the people video taping would stop and try to get in as well. I saw kids as young as 8 (he was no midget, he was a little boy) looting along side his older brothers for makeup (WTF), to FOB asians going H.A.M trying to break windows, to those 'kawaii' Japanese girls egging guys on to go in and loot them a bag (LOL).

Also did anyone get to check out the Art Gallery? There was a fuckin' dance party there packed with people yelling RIOT. Shit those guys definitely weren't a small sample of the large contigent. The group there was bigger than the group breaking into London Drugs!

You have to understand, the onus isn't on regular citizens to document this for the cops, it's not your job, while it's admirable and brave for you guys to be out there filming documenting, I feel, personally, that you guys were doing more harm than good. Videos clearly showed that only a small sample of the large contingent were actually doing the rioting. You can see everyone whip out their cellphones and digital devices ready to capture these youtube/twitter/tumblr/fb moments. If everyone just got out of dodge then the police would've had a better handle on the situation.

The rioters only persisted because they used the throngs of people as their shield and camouflage.

i went by the police impound under the viaduct and saw some of the cars from last night. i could barely recognize the bmw, and the remains of the truck was there, as was the versa that got rolled and torched at the post office. they also had the two burned out police cars there as well, but there was also an unmarked dark grey crown vic that was completely trashed. there was also a badly vandalized black ford fusion, which might have been the one in the pic above...

I've had a long day and a bit to drink so I apologize for the rambling. I just went back from page 1 and can't help but comment...

I remember listening to hockey long before I could see it. My grandpa and I would listen to hockey games in the 80's and it was my strongest bond with him. Listening to Jim Robson and Gary Monahan was an exciting time for us. My grandpa passed away 4 years back and hockey hasn't felt the same since. That being said, I went downtown yesterday with a heavy heart thinking of how I wished my gramps could be here to witness history.

And now, in some morbid way I'm glad he wasn't here to see what happened. It was hard enough for him to explain 1994 to me. The disappointment of losing combined with the strong reaction would have been too much for him.

Anyways, I thought I would share some more photos of what I am having to deal with at this point.

Since I didn't want to drink and drive, I left my car at the River Rock skytrain station overnight and slept at a friend's place. I came back to discover my car like this:

A summary of the damage:

- Windshield smashed
- Both side windows smashed
- Rear hatch glass smashed
- Rear hatch dented
- Front passenger side bumper damage
- Rear bumper damage
- Driver's side mirror pulled backwards
- Slurpee all over my hood
- Dents on my roof and my sunroof caved in from someone standing on the car.

Trying to sell the car right now too. A huge dec is going to kill my resale value. I'm probably out $2-3k in resale if not more.

I was downtown too at Ap Gu Jung on Robson. Once we saw the car was on fire we left and got back to Richmond. Watched all the craziness on TV with a pit in my stomach wondering what is wrong with people.

Then I wake up to discover my car like this. I'm just lost for words as to how a city can behave like this. :(

Sorry to hear about this, man. I too had hoped that no RS'ers had their cars vandalized or burnt, but sadly this doesn't seem to be the case. I'm so glad I didn't bother driving into DT yesterday to watch the game like I had originally intended. Hell, I'm glad I decided to watch the game at my friend's place in Surrey instead. First time I can honestly say I've felt safer in Surrey than Vancouver... :lol That said, they would have had a hell of a time trying to flip a car that's only a couple inches off the ground...
