Got a question-
im using the aspire clapton coil 0.5ohm.

for some reason i can only really taste my juice at around 20w.
Once i get it to 30w+ i stop tasting the flavor. Why is this? The coil says its recommended at 40-45w. Why is the taste so muted in this range? Almost a burnt taste anywhere closer to 40w.

I started the break in of the coil at 10w. But really anything past 28w changes the flavor completely.

The wattage range usually doesn't have much to do with taste, as that (typically) depends on the juice.

All the recommended wattage range really determines is a sweet spot that doesn't burn your coil's cotton too fast.

You'll notice different juices bring out different flavors at different wattages/temperatures. Also, word on the street is that for some reason claptons are better used with dessert flavors than fruit flavors.

I even read about some juice that was purposely made to taste different at high and low temps :suspicious: :lawl:

I think 24 is my favorite. 22 and it spits way to much. 26 is too thin.

Hm, never had much of a problem with spitting with 22. I found 22 heats more "evenly"? like its a quick but steady increase to desired temp (watts), then it steadily decreases. With 24 I find that it's like on/off. Like as soon as you press the button it fires at 100% and then immediately drops to 0 when you let go. Not really a bad thing, maybe it's my builds, or I'm just used to the 22.

Now that I'm completely off smoking, it's become more of a hobby/interest, getting to play with new toys and taste new flavors.

for me its a combo of all these things listed. i started vaping to quit smoking but now its a hobby and ya, i vape for the sake of vaping. its worked out well. i stopped smoking pot and started to drink a lot more booze, then i was drinking and smoking cigs a lot more and now all i do is vape. i have booze every now and then.

prob gonna go with that option instead of the minivolt since battery life is better+still small enough to bring to clubs or sneak into events

I will look into that. I will be using subtank nano with the 0.5 coil. Heck even the istick 30w is attractive to me for the size. Really want a pocketable device that would last me all day. Already have subtank mini kit as my main mod.

havent used my subtank mini in months since there are way better sub-ohm tanks available. the subtank mini was the best of its class when it first came out. It barely uses any juice though. I just had shitty luck with the burning coils the last time I used it. burnt like 2-3 within a weeks because I followed the recommend wattage lol

Higher mah isn't the be all end all of batteries. There are different batteries with different electrolytes that work better for different devices (regulated vs unregulated, for example).

But generally speaking, you'll be fine with any. I've pretty much used every brand out there and haven't had a problem. LG, Samsung, Imrens are all good for regulated. Efest has had some flack lately, but I've never had a problem with them.

I bought some new .3 atlantis coils for my triton and on the second day its already giving me dry hits. Vaping it at 70w when it gave me the dry hit. Wasnt chain vaping and i checked that the coil isnt burned. Not sure what is wrong :(

Check that you're not on temp control mode with a kanthal coil? Or if you've accidentally fired it on TC?

Other than that... Maybe your coils aren't primed properly? Once you burn the cotton on them, the burned taste is going to always kinda be there, even if the cotton on the outside still looks white.

With these newer tanks you need to overdo the priming like crazy because they use so much cotton. I soak the hell out of the coils as much as I can, fill the tank, leave it overnight, and the next day I close the airholes and suck. Probably overkill, but fuck, tfv4 coils come out to like $5-$7 each. Rather do all I can to prolong their lifespan.

Using a sigelei 150w so I dont have tc. I'll leave it overnight to see if it changes. I always thought filling the tank and letting it sit for 10 minutes that it should be good to go but i guess not since i just learned what priming is lol. Still a rookie to vaping :derp:

i can taste hints of banana, cinnamon and walnut - not much banana bread per say but its definitely a sweet juice

i tried it in my tfv4 and herakles - loved it in my herakles plus - on the tfv4... was kinda meh because it highlighted the sweetness too much but on the herakles plus the flavor profile was more nutty and banana with a hint of cinnamon

i tried vaping it at 60w, 65w, 80w, 85w, 100w - the banana profile is more emphasized as the vapor is warmer but eventually gets too sweet for my liking - so 60w is my sweetspot at the moment

ill definitely want more of this juice - but would love it more if i can taste more of the bread rather than just sweetness...

as it stands its more like a banana dessert sprinkled with cinnamon than banana bread

will let it steep some more to see if the flavor changes

I've been ordering bulk from Mt Baker Vapor, which, after exchange, comes to about $5 / 30ml. Their quality is not as good as the branded stuff obviously, but there are some flavors I really like, and it keeps my addiction costs relatively low.

I still get the premium stuff from shops from time to time as a courtesy to them and a treat for myself. But there's no way I can be doing that on a regular basis.

in my Griffin its not as peanut buttery as I thought but its pretty spot on with the candy.

I still gotta figure out the right wattage/temp to hit it at though. was doing around 75-100W and 500-600F

what kind of wire, how many wraps, what's the resistance?

Coil is probably janky, it should only display that when its too low resistance. Check your coil? Ive had resistance jump happen, time to build!

I guess if you were past the 14 day return policy, in all fairness they had the right to refuse. But having said that, they should've just given you the damn $6 battery to retain a customer. I personally am not a huge fan either, but they're generally OK. I stop by if I'm in the area and need to grab something, though they're not my first go-to shop -- I usually just go in, get what I need, and leave.

My reasoning is kinda shitty on my part, I'll admit. But every time I go in there, I just get the impression that it's really "bro'd out". I mean their customers are their customers, so that's neither here nor there. But when I was looking at juices one time, their employee was staring at the tv the whole time and helping me with one hand. Didn't really seem like he wanted to talk, so I just picked up a couple things and left. Which is fair. They're a store, and they sell what I want. I get what I need, they get their sale. But speaking in relative terms and judging from that alone, the employees and the vibe at other stores just feel way more approachable and friendly, and that's enough reason for me to go elsewhere if I can, because let's face it. Prices at all the stores are pretty much the same.

I think ESV is good. The guy that helped me explained everything. Told me what wattage to run at and how that causes the voltage range to variate and why those voltages mean. Higher than x.x causes too much burning while lower than x.x causes juice flooding.

He also offered to teach more about self building (cotton stuff) if i have time or drop by anytime as well as how temp control works for different kinds of coils etc. Or consult youtube.

Filled up my juice and gave me tips to cover the air hole before tightening etc. Overall very helpful.

However when I bought the exact same one for someone else at esv at a different day, I was explained less. Was told to run at a different higher wattage. Didn't even know of different coil settings. But at the same time, I can see i was pegged as vape newb and probably didnt want to overload me with info, which I can understand as the ideal case for many casual users. Hobbyists already know their shit.

With that said, i think all the reps were chill and are the type that if asked, they would be very willing to take to help in depth.

almost 95% chance the tank will leak, so unless the shop is willing to take care of you in regards to the leak (only way to really solve it is for them to give you a non-painted subtank), I would avoid at all costs. The battery has been fine for me since though.

I'd skip the two suggestions and get the kanger kit that you had questions about (easy device, single battery, no need to get an external bay charger). Much easier for someone who is new at vaping.

High VG kills coils more, but high PG juices are basically obsolete these days. Depending on the tank you have and how much you vape, 2 weeks is pretty much average life.

I think anything goes. I'm on a eGo One mod with a Hercules Plus Tank . IMO tank matters the most.

make sure your mod can push out consistent voltage. some have drop offs depending on battery levels

That would also depend on your desired voltage tho. For example, my mod and battery can't handle what I want - 75W, which is it's max. But if you fire lower than the max, you shouldn't need an upgrade. That being said, you should probably buy a new battery every year or so.

Evic VTC Mini paired with Uwell Crown Tank.

Thinking of getting a new mod box.
Currently using the Aspire Pegasus. Its a 70w max output.

Im vaping almost at the max output with the Pegasus and thinking i may need something more. So my question is, should i get a 150w that takes 2x 18650 battery (Aspire Archon) or one that takes 3x battery (Reuleaux rx200)?
I know the Releaux rx200 has the option on using 2 or 3 battery which is pretty dope. But i do find that the overall size of the Releaux to be quite big. Especially if im bringing it out with me.

p.s. I dont build my own coils. Just use tanks since i dont feel like dripping when im out.
