It's the full, no shame DIY Back yard special. Suction cups from princess auto as feet, 3/4" rod with a pool noodle slid over it for softness/protection. Holds a kayak just great. Total cost? About $40.

Not bad since when I went to rack attack, they quoted me way more than what it is online (about $700, not including any kayak accessories)

Seems like revscene is on a road trip. Didn't plan this but after staying in Prince George, we had an extra day left so we ventured through the Rockies; with no plans. Ended up camping at the Columbia icefields glacier after hiking up at 10pm and forgetting to book a site. Woke up to pissing rain, car got stuck in mud, couldn't pull out, 6hours later:unstuck. Was suppose to leave for home at noon but it was too late so we drove to Banff (Johnston canyon) - after touring morraine lake, lake Louise - to camp for the night. Leaving tomorrow at 8am for Summerland then back to Vancouver.

Not a bad 1500km detour. Definitely like having the taller sidewall for dirt roads.

Was gonna get my new tires mounted at Discount Tires in Bellingham today but they fucked up for the second time..
So I ordered online about a month ago and it arrived at the store the next week. When they called me to pick up the car only the fronts were changed because they ordered me some all seasons for the rears. So that was fine, it happens, and they covered the installation fee for me. They said they'd get it in the next week as they have to ship it from another state. Two weeks went by and still no signs of anything. I call them and they said it's here already and not sure why I didn't get a call, so I made the appointment for today. Went in today and they were moving locations across to the other side of Fred Meyer. They took my car in and called me back in half an hour saying that they must have shipped it out by accident while they were moving everything. Totally unacceptable.. they said they could only cover my gas money $30-40 but I fought to get $100 because they wasted so much of my time. I got compensated but I would never go to this location again..(
so I said fuck it and went for a drive along Chuckanut Drive

It's a great little 20 minute drive with a lot of twisties along the mountain and even a tight hairpin

motor is a small block 340, 4SPD A-833 standard trans w/ hurst short throw + reverse lockout. The shifter arms are misaligned or the lockout malfunctioned and has got reverse gear jammed stuck. havent got a chance to work on it yet

Finally got my car back after the detail and 3 layers of Prestige Armour and some form of slickness coating that they just released. Definitely worth the week wait for my car, so happy with it right now and I haven't even been able to wash it to see the water beading effect yet. Swirls are all gone, and yesterday while parked someone slightly marred the paint on my car somehow. It was a weird spiral shape with about 3 inches in diameter.. I was pretty choked but when I went home and wiped it with barely any pressure on the microfiber towel, the mark actually came right off. So far so good, hopefully it's worth the investment :)

Its a sky ski. Im guessing its the same thing you are thinking about. Probably one of the craziest things I have ever seen in the water. Still haven't tried it out tho. Its hard to follow the performance my moms 64 year old boyfriend puts on so I stick to the wakeboard.

Yeah I was thinking about the Spoon mirrors, the CRX has them. Was also contemplating a White Crow front bumper with a CS lip for that racecar feel but at the end of the day I decided that I should not put too much stuff into the car otherwise I'd feel like I'm not satisfied with it. With the color change, wheels, lowering, and a bit of interior stuff I think it's fine the way it is. Simple is good (Y)

South Bound on the Sea-to-Sky view outlook exit, 2 minutes after the "Welcome to Squamish" sign.

First test on 1.5+ hour highway drive and highway driving comparison between the S3 and the RS5:


The S3's acceleration was quick when overtaking other cars, almost as quick as the RS5.

However, for the curve sections, there was a significant amount, but manageable, body roll, more than the RS5.

In fact, the RS5 had very little, if any (couldn't feel it), during the curve sections (based on 4+ trips on the Sea-to-Sky).

South Bound on the Sea-to-Sky view outlook exit, 2 minutes after the "Welcome to Squamish" sign.

First test on 1.5+ hour highway drive and highway driving comparison between the S3 and the RS5:


The S3's acceleration was quick when overtaking other cars, almost as quick as the RS5.

However, for the curve sections, there was a significant amount, but manageable, body roll, more than the RS5.

In fact, the RS5 had very little, if any (couldn't feel it), during the curve sections (based on 4+ trips on the Sea-to-Sky).

Toss a set of H&R's on the S3? I bet a nice progressive spring, with a 1.5" drop would cure a large amount of the roll issues.

Iv never bought a new vehicle with proximity sensors, but if I had the option It wouldn't even be close to my build list. I know a bit more extreme conditions, but at work they get covered in mud or busted a bit and everytime going into reverse or something the dash beeps like someone just put a bomb in the truck. Another 2000km bites the dust. Drove down to Goldendale, WA(with my housemates) to skate maryhill loops road and check out the aftermath of the recent wildfire. Our camp site of choice was 5km in from paveroad so that was definitely fun, car got stuck in sand twice and I'm pretty sure my liners are ruined. After, we left for Portland to attend a couple races. Portland was so dense, one ways everywhere and traffic was a bitch midday weekend.

^ Love the area around Goldendale. The drive through there is super nice, all the 'wind farms' are pretty cool to see as well. Crazy to see how many have popped up over the years. Whenever I'm headed south, I always head down that way. Might be slower than the I5, but it's way more of an enjoyable drive and waaay more scenic.
