This is based off of a game called Ingress that Niantic Labs and Google partnered up to make. They used the Ingress data and how people play that game to make this one. There are no Paid items in ingress. None at all. You have to go out and find them at different locations and are completely random. I assume this will be the same for the most part. Ingress is Green vs Blue (Enlightened vs. Resistance) but I think Pokemon Go will be more individual play against others with mass events for Bosses. I am Enlightened in Ingress and the amount of team work is awesome. There is no way to Hack the game for items but there are ways to "cheat" as have been found with Ingress.

You can battle your own team's gym. It's training and will increase the gym's prestige which makes it harder to take down. Also you can add one of your own to the gym so that's another pokemon someone of another team has to defeat.

Tips and tricks

1-when trying to catch a Pokemon in the bottom right corner you will find a box that lets you know about all nearby Pokemon

3 paw is pretty far away
2 a slight walk down your street
1 very close
0 your on it basically

2- when catching a Pokemon most people think you just throw the poke ball at it when you actually have to hold the screen. You will notice that when you do this that green circle will become smaller and then big a again. The goal is to make the circle as small as possible for the best chance at getting that rare and hard to get Pokemon that pop out.

3- A really cool thing you can do to get more xp is to put you finger on the poke ball when capturing a Pokemon and kind of draw a circle on your screen as small circle which will cause the ball to spin which gives you curve ball bonus.

4- How to get rare Pokemon
Is pretty simple all you need to do is level up, I've seen you tubers that are level 17 and almost every Pokemon they find has 300+ cp and own 1000+ cp Vaporions

6- How to find Pokemon

The best way to find Pokemon especially when your a kid and don't have a car is to use Incense Which draws Pokemon to your location and go to pokestops. Usually they have Pokemon in popular places. I live in Melbourne and go to Chadstone shopping centre and just walk around and find heaps of Pokemon everywhere considering it's so big.

7- Water type can be found near large bodies of water such as your local pond, lake, river etc. grass type are found in wooded areas. At nighttime you can find more dark Pokemon.

8- Best way to evolve Pokemon
Even if you already have a pidgy and half of your deck consist of them pick up a Pokemon every chance you get, the reason is this is how you evolve them, always keep the highest cp of that Pokemon and transfer the rest to get 1+ candy for that Pokemon over the space of 1 hour at Chadstone I had already evolved 3 Pokemon

9- Eggs

Eggs come in three rarities
2km- common probably not worth the hatch early on I've gathered
5km- rare
10km- very rare I'm currently in the process of hatching this one and will keep you guys posted if this gets to the front page
The best way to hatch these eggs is to drive, I'm guessing some of you have tried and know it doesn't work, this is because the app not only used gps but also a speedometer so you don't cheat. I believe if you go below 20 kph not sure what that is in miles you should be good to go!

You wont get banned for using the official apk you downloaded from a mirror. The people that got banned in Ingress were using modded apks, thus the ban.

^ when you first launch the game, it asks for you to sign in with google. so i assume it saves to a google cloud. i assume when it actually launches in canada, just signing back in with your google info will still have all your game info saved.

You'll know you've hit the jackpot when you see a bunch of BMW's, Merc's, and Maserati's driving around and randomly pulling over. I suggest keeping your following distance and stay in your car if possible, thats for Stanley Park.

Steveston Docks park in the gravel lot closest to the restaurants/bars, theres 3 PokeStops (make sure you park in the middle of all 3 so you dont have to move) and if you're lucky all 3 will have Lures dropped already.

I know you can't train them past a certain point if you're too low, but I'm not sure it matters what your level is if you're trying to catch it. What colour were the rings? If they were yellow, orange or red then you'll have a way more difficult time catching it vs one with green.

You can take a look at the meter under your pokemon cp
The closer to the right is max potential, once I got near I evolved the pokemon
I noticed one I passed level 13, I am finding Pokemon upwards of 500+ CP
Saved all my candies for those pokemon

The Oval in Richmond was bumping before it started raining. Caught a couple evee's and left.

there isnt really anything too groundbreaking that hasnt been shown in other games of this style, where you capture and hold key points, find and collect resources, etc...
the gameplay is mostly all borrowed, i think the theme is really all it has going for it.

Smallest and the ball has to hit the circle to get Excellent. Only got that twice for me so far. I find it's easier to throw the ball with index finger too

Yup, I posted a screenshot of that place a few pages earlier.

I live and work near there, and those 3 spots have had lures on almost all day every day since saturday. (All day as in everytime I check they are active with lures).

I can see that area on the map from my apartment, and is only like a 3 minute walk away. I was tempted to go there to take advantage of the lures, but then I'm afraid of what I might see... (a crowd of adults playing pokemon hahahaha)

Tips from a Friend who was a Beta Tester and now level 25 lol.

1. No matter how long the distance of the egg don't incubate/hatch until you reach
level 15+, you get rarer pokemon instead of common shit.

2. Don't waste candies/stardust on low level CP pokemon you'll catch 100+ CP common pokemon in the wild. Transfer weak CP common multiples of pokemon to get/stack candies.

3. It's better to max out the power up on higher CP pokemon rather then evolve. The higher max out power up carries over to the evolution. Ex- 125 Pidgey --> 320~Pidgeotto
Vs 65 Pidgey --> 165~ Pidgeotto Also takes less Candies then evolving.

4. Stack candies and evolutions with lucky egg and lures at pokestops. Get a lucky egg purchase or at Level 9 get it as reward. Lucky Egg doubles XP for 30 min (evolving and catching pokemon doubles XP during this time). Lures at pokestops attracts more pokemon for 30min. To optimize this find a friend who has a lure along with you find two pokestops within proximity of each other lure both pokestops apply lucky egg and for those 30 min catch pokemon and evolve for double xp. Plus the pokestops you'll be able to hit those 9-10 times each as they refresh every 3 min.

Doing this at Level 9 for 30 min I was able to jump Level 9 - 14. Depending upon the location of the pokestop using lures I was catching every 2-3~min.

5. Gym Battles, leave your 2nd and 3rd highest CP at gyms to gain pokecoins "defender" able to collect coins every 21 hours so no need to purchase coins at the store. "Battling" is all about spamming on the enemy but type does matter along with CP. Water > Fire etc. I rarely use the special attack long holding on the enemy as fights usually don't last that long. Avoid gyms with 5000+ or 3 or more pokemon it'll take longer to solo it.

6. Famous Land Marks eg Statues/Bridges/Libraries etc give out better stuff at pokestops berrys potions ultra and great balls.

7. The higher Level your are aka the trainer the stronger and rarer the pokemon you encounter.

Yea same, I've read posts that explain move set > CP. But there's no attack or defend or speed like in regular pokemon games its all CP.

CP stands for Combat Power, and it’s a stat unlike any other in Pokemon. The CP of a Pokemon is essentially it’s singular stat that indicates its power. Whereas a regular Pokemon game might have a level, attack power, defense power, and more, Pokemon Go skips all this and just gives you one single stat for the power and level of your Pokemon.

The battling system in gyms is all spamming anyways lol. Until they update it with actual turn by turn system then CP > MOVE SET.
The Special attacks long press/hold does a lot more damage but you gotta build it up and take punishment/health on your Pokemon.

This was apparently very easy to catch server-side on their old game (which is the same thing really) and would result in permaban.
