Engine is a little rough, probably a combination of dirty O2 and MAF sensors and 2.5 year old gas.
Car is pretty comfortable but almost got in 3 different accidents today.
Sitting this low takes some getting used to compared to the Fiesta which basically feels like a van

I feel the same way! Tbh i didnt plan to keep the car as the last car i was looking to get was an na1 nsx this was just an impulse-frustration buy.
Once i spent some some time at the forum and discovered that this chassis can be a partsbin /host for a 1m/m3 parts it was then i realized this car is for me :fullofwin:
(If i pushed for the nsx i will be unhappy with a stock one and focus on maintenace for awhile because moneypit lv99 . Not fun at all.haha)

Went to Roche Lake which is about 30 KM south east of Kamloops (Highway 5A). Very scenic and beautiful drive. The Lake requires a 5km drive through gravel roads that meander left and right as well as up and down. The Sedona did well. Carried 7 people and a lot of gear. I'll never understand SUVs. Minivans offer practicality in their most raw form.

Was worth the drive.

i got rekt on the curves as they were able to take them at high speed, but i was a little scared in my M as suspension is soft because luxury, while they have sports style. Id lose them on the curves but the v8 would catch up in the straights hehe

Tried out the Miata at autox, lots of problems with it but a fun day nonetheless.
TBH I haven't checked the tire pressures in 3 years and still haven't, alignment is awful and the engine is misfiring (hopefully just something simple like spark plugs or o2 sensor)
Also after my first run it was overheating, added 2.5 bottles of water and the temps ran pretty well the rest of the day
Haven't put the rear sway back on yet either, I didn't plan on bringing this car but a gout attack in my left ankle has prevented me from driving the Fiesta.

Nah its interesting, there's a specific muscle that's aching and the way the Fiesta's clutch pedal pushes in requires me to be sorta tippy-toeing to use it. The Miata sits much lower and im using my calf/leg to step on the clutch.

if it's cosmetic and you are not into 100% originality... NA2 front conversion?

but if there is structural damage... take payment for the car :(

I would have it repaired in HK so you can at least send it to people you know, and also monitor the repair process.

If in Japan, you don't know the bodyshop, you can't see imperfections that the photos cannot show after the repair and the car will get shipped back to HK until you see the imperfections in person.

having my NSX in an accident last year. I would say go ahead with repair as long as no frame damage. be prepare for a long wait time thou due to parts is harder to come by. my NSX got hit on the passenger side front. Visually is not a huge damage.
Repair took almost 1 years, lot of time was waiting for parts. I still have to drop it off at Burrard Acura for the headlight. Passenger head light is not going down right now.

So as long as you are ok for the long wait time i say fix it. It is harder and harder to come by for a clean NSX.

@Dinfung - would you say the prices for your repair are similiar?

The bodyshop guy is going to come with me to the terminal today to check for frame damage and reply me lead time for parts from Japan. If there's frame damage or too long of a wait for parts, I'll let her go.

Ive removed the bumper/fender/headlight and seen the frame
By the looks of yours it doesnt seem like the aluminum frame is affected

I needed the 1M almost 500$ fender liner (there goes the intercooler i was planning on getting.lol)
I was able to snag the half of the fender liner at BJ bmw
The other half are are none stock on all the bmw dealers in north america and needed to be ordered from germany 2-3 weeks wait time
And for an extra kick in the nads my order which should have arrived last week was shipped to halifax :facepalm:
Hey atleast its in canada now (thats what i tell my self to feel better.haha)

The quote you got is very reasonable. I basically got all the same part replaced plus front subframe, a bunch of suspension parts, 2 wheels refinish, the whole passenger side painted (I end up paying extra 2.2k, to have the full nsx painted) ICBC Claim so far is 3xxxxCND.

@thumper: 'New' parts I'm told. I'm not actually sure meaning if they are stockedin Japan still or just new unused sitting somewhere. And yes, I'm told that this will not be in accident history, since it was not a motor vehicle accident and there are no plates on the car and it was not on public roads. The guy importing the car for me, told me that incidents like this are NOT uncommon. Perhaps there are a handful of incidents every year, but usually is damaged on the way, in the container, shipping, off the freighter etc. My case is rarer in that the car was off the freighter and was damaged at the terminal by a terminal worker.

So yeah. You can probably assume that some damage to imported cars are not reported... So my advice I suppose, is make sure you check the schedules of when you car arrives, etcetc (If it's taking longer than usual... yeah). Also make sure you check the car thoroughly.

Yup plastic but with the new fender/bumper increasing the width by 2-3 inches i actually modded it by adding a piece to fill the gap but failed to make the diameter bigger
(If you notice the 1m wheel well is bigger
