It was in Canadian tire for an out of province inspection, also bumped into an 2017 NSX there for an inspection as well.

It was orignally a US car, imported into Ontario back in 97 where the current owner stored it. Only 137,922km, entirely stock except for the wheels. Everything is as clean as can be, full interior all original and in pristine condition, everything still works and air con blows strong. Fully documented service history since 1997.

I looked for over a year now and was always trying to find a red coupe with black top, but for various reasons always let it slip. This deal on the silver one was too good to let go... and I ran out of paitience waiting for a red one at the right price with the right history.

As for plans, I don't really want to start cuz once you start you know you cant stop, and theres TONS of goodies for NSX to pour over.

I do at least want to get a nice set of 18F/19R wheels for it and lowered on the proper ride height. Lip, diffuser, intake, exhaust, steering wheel, seats for it. Thats about it. :QQ:

Thanks all! I'm not gonna add too much to the styling, waiting for a front lip to come out for it, and maybe do a small drop (0.75-1"). Since taking these pics I have dipped my rear badges black, gotten the rear 3 windows tinted 40%, added the factory window visors and smoked out the orange sidemarkers... I don't want to do too much as I'm a little anxious about the warranty coverage if I do.

Might just be me, but I like everything excluding the rear "vents" at the bumper corners. I'm sure Honda could figure out a way to keep it aggressive without the massive honeycombs present

It's a very very quick car compared to this Civic at 30k

So just a disclaimer - just stating the facts here before this debacle gets outta hand. Both are good cars in their own right and the 10k difference can only be justified by the individual making the purchase. As for resale values; a quick search of 2013/2012 civics show them being priced at an average of 14k for the EX-L model (Msrp of 27500 after tax - I did not include freight or any discounts. Strictly Msrp + tax) which means the Honda civic retains 50.9% of its value over the course of 5 years. The 2012/2013 wrx I only found 2 and averaged the price to about 27k after 5 years. Msrp was 40k after tax which means it retained 67.5% of its value. SO - the wrx holds its value more. Usually the wrx/sti doesn't get discounted till it's their mid cycle refresh and they are cars with high demand amongst the tuner crowd.

Just google the performance of the cars. It's a 270 hp awd vs 180 hp fwd around 3000 pounds.. i think its pretty obvious in a straight line.

Subarus hold their values... especially the wrx and stis. Nothing special? It finally had its drivetrain changed. Yeah looks are subjective but i think the new civic turbo hatch's rear is ugly. With the honey comb vents, its as bad as fake fender air vents on a hyundai tiburon. I think theyre trying too hard with the middle dual exhausts for an "upper" model civic. Dual exhausts for the si or type r? Sure

Why do you bring up reliability and talk about working on the engine? Same with the new wrx engine, it's pretty new too.

I think honda did a good job with the civic turbo cause it's still economical, with decent performance. It really depends on what you're looking for in a car.

Hi all... didn't mean to start a war on here lol:D Just to calm the waters, here are a few reasons that I got the car... First I like the look of it, but looks are subjective, so to each their own. I really wanted to get a manual trans, 6 speed bonus! Wanted a turbo, first one I've ever owned. I really wanted no-key entry and push button start, check. Needed to have a sunroof, got it. It has this thing called Android Auto that basically integrates Google Assistant into my car, so awesome. That last one also means I get navigation due to the fact that the car has a 7 inch screen and pulls up most of the important apps from my phone up to it including Google Maps. I find it so satisfying that all I have to do is press a button and ask my car where the closest Pho joint is and it pops up a list, another press of the button and it takes me there. I think its cool that it has Honda Link that sends me notifications to my phone when its due for maintenance. Not only that but I can actually book the appointment right from my phone! Lastly, its a Honda, and by that I mean I feel better about knowing that its going to last me a really long time and I won't have to worry about major repairs. That's from experience as the Honda Pilot that you see in the background of my pics has 340,000km on it and all i've ever done to it was change the oil, hell I haven't even done the spark plugs yet! So if there was another car out there that offered all this, then I didn't do my research very well, but in the end, I probably still would have bought this car, i'm glad I did anyways! Cheers. :)

I don't believe Imprezas were ever really meant to be pretty cars but value-wise an AWD, Japan-built, outgoing model of the WRX is hard to beat in performance, practicality and longevity.

How many people commenting about the new Civic Hatch Sport have actually driven one? I know I have, and it's an incredible car for the money.

It's got tremendous value. The chassis feels super tight, handling is very composed, shifter is typical Honda smooth, has more than enough power for day-to-day driving with gobs of torque. Hooned it around a bit on the roads, was plenty rewarding. Also the motor was already dyno proven by Hondata to be severely underrated (crank hp is actually whp), and can be bumped up to around 200whp from just a reflash and 91/92/93 octane.

I test drove a 6spd and did not have to rev over 2k rpms to get around, pretty impressive for a Honda.

What other vehicle on the market right now can be had for 30k taxes and fees in, with CarPlay, a turbo motor, sport-tuned handling, a great 6spd, and as many standard features as it does? Not many. I know it's #1 on my list of cars to replace the Element with.

Neither lol I have a EM2 Civic (Those 01-05 ones I believe, worst gen ever) that I daily drive so I dont have to worry about all the usual road debris, door dings, salt, and asian drivers lol

Currently the S2K is insured and driven casually on weekends but I'm most likely going to store it away for the foreseeable future and just take the GTR mainly.

Looks like a 335 M performance. That's already not seen often along with that blue. If it's manual then yeah it's really a unicorn. A service advisor friend said he might get to drive a manual BMW once in 200 cars that he drives on the lot.

So I went ahead and changed out the rear valence back to a OEM 91 look... it had a OEM 02+ style on it. I think it looks right now, might be changing the roof back to black to complete that original 91 look...

I also pulled the accent light bulbs so the brake lights shows up like those JDM NSX on best motoring... the silver has REALLY grown on me

Also in the middle of researching and prototyping a custom gauge cluster for her, keeping it all original style but taking it up a notch... namely the 200mph speedo and 10,000 rpm redline counter. Cleaned up all the lines and fonts while still retaining the OEM Honda script, keeping all OEM function and warning symbols.

i've been at it for quite a while. this car has been at tremblant, watkins glen, palmer, atlantic motorsport park (i moved here from the east coast). I had a z06 before this, and I've taken school at some other american tracks also. I instructed with the Acadia Region PCA and some local east coast clubs, and i'm looking to get involved in as many west coast orgs as I can. I'll check the FB page for sure!

I just I should specify that I don't actually drive with my foot out the window. More so sitting at a light, etc. The reason I do it -to get her worked up- is because whenever we go on a road trip, first thing she loves to do is put her feet up on the dash. Prompting a lecture from me about airbags and foot sweat on my dash.

And for the record, she wouldn't push me around in the wheelchair. She'd end me at the hospital with the 'ol pillow over the face routine.

On another note...not sure what this means for my alignment. The worn part is the inner side of the rear tire. I had the alignment set to near OEM settings with no extra negative camber than stock. I did drive it harder this season and went sideways many times in the rain and always in the snow. LOL. The fronts are perfectly fine.

LOL I don't use them for wheel swaps since my body is not under the vehicle. Worst that happens is it falls on a rotor and I have a to bend the dust shield back. The jack would be high enough the body won't hit the ground and it's only vulnerable for about 30 seconds a corner while I swap wheels. [emoji1417]

If I'm just swapping wheels that I know aren't stuck on there I sometimes use the cheater method of tossing a wheel under the frame rail, so if the jack fails it lands on that.

Still a good idea, in case a socket rolls under there and you reach for it without thinking or something. Plus you won't end up smashing your brakes into the ground.

Hit a magical number today. Marks (approximately) 40k km that i've owned and driven the car.

Not sure what to do with it long term though. Something new is a want as a bunch of maintenance stuff needs to be addressed soon at 100k. However, its worth pennies in trade value and there's nothing that really directly replaces this.
