I think I might have youtube'd how to remove the fin, or it was in the instructions? Can't remember, but it's only a few bolts you have to unscrew, pull back the cover and pull out the fin. You can also replace with a different one but I find it good without .

hard to say... compared to the lotus its definitely a change (good and bad)
lotus is more nimble, lighter, and raw
nsx is more refined in a sense of technology? not quite sure if thats how i should word it ... atleast to the lotus

both cars will definitely bring a smile to any driver

pretty much.. gone through 8 sellers - all 8 asking for way too much, they think their cars is worth more than market price, thinks its mint when its not

then when you finally agree on a price they flake out comes the day of signing or even doing a PPI

majority of the nsx "sellers" only want to waste peoples time to get confirmation of how much their car is really worth...

im lucky that the current seller of my NSX is super down the earth, knows how much his car is really worth (ie. not asking for a ridiculous amount... well in my case i think i got a steal of a deal tbh), is ready to sell (even though he has much regrets atm), and he understands the frustration of buying an nsx since he was in my shoes just 6 years ago.

I had a fun time prying my ITR from the seller. He was very flakey and didn't really want to sell it. Good thing you finally found a seller who followed through.

^^ i did. I'd actually talked to the owner several times on FB about buying it before he posted it. It sold for a lot less then his bottom line was, I'd say it's a BAT fail for him.

What I was most surprised about is the fact that this car lived in Ontario for 180,000kms of its life and saw it has pretty much ZERO RUST underneath when we raised it on a hoist at work. A friend's 2001 M3 is currently at 362,000km right now and did a track day last year without a hiccup and still going strong, so I'm not too worried about mileage (right now at least :pokerface:)

No floors
No brakes
No clutch hydraulics
No interior

Water instead of transmission fluid
Doesn't run
No fuel leaving the tank

The whole story is much longer, includes fun things like exploding clutches and (possible) Mexican chop-shops. But the adventure was totally worth it. And hey, when you get it North...why not do a three day, 1200km mixed gravel and tarmac driving adventure?

Man that's so awesome.. I just purchased my first project car after biting the bullet and giving myself more confidence on working on vehicles myself without much background knowledge. I just picked up a 71' MGB tourer w/ OD. Got a bit of cancer all over, but all of them do. Took it for a drive yesterday and I felt like James bond with the top down. These things are a blast. I would love to hear what you have plans for it! Paid $2k for this sucker and not regretting it at all, even though I already snapped the fan belt on day one.. LOL

There are so many DIY videos online to help me fix some of the typical issues with the car, super pumped to get this thing going. I'll probably just drive it for now and possibly consider a restoration years down the road, but right now i'm just enjoying the drive.

Nice B! Mine is missing a whole lot of interior and other bits, but the beauty of a California car is that it's rust free. I do need floors due to it being stored outside for 25 years without any cover, but the flanges are solid so floor replacement is pretty simple.

Mine has a great 'period' race look to it, having been stripped down for track racing just before it was parked many years ago. I'm torn between keeping it as is (which means no foul weather), simply improving it, or doing a full restoration on it. I have some pretty valid business reasons why the restoration makes the most sense.

Those guys are crazy. It drives quite well with standard tires (stupid first gen run flats)and the hydraulic steering is nicely weighted. The seats are also very plush and supportive with impeccable material quality. This was Lexus's flagship and thus its complimented with acres of wood and leather everywhere. Quite the amazing ride for under 20k.

zone 6 inch lift with 5 inch rear lift coils and fox performance series 2.0 struts up front to level out the lift. cv angle isn't affected by having "additional" 2 inches of lift or leveling up front. it basically sits the same as having leveling strut up front with no lift kit.

I was gonna go 35" but with 6 inch lift, 35" looked small

How are you liking it? We'll likely be replacing our 1st gen Matrix with one in a few years time.

Well I have been driving it for a week now and I honestly like it a lot more than the Matrix.

First off, we got the CVT version. When we drove off the lot, I noticed how quiet it was from the engine and the noise from outside. As for interior; what I like the most is that everything is close by. No more extending myself like Elastic Man to grab something out of the glove box. The AC on full blast: :sweetjesus: especially on a hot day like yesterday. The back up camera is great for parallel parking, no more guessing where my rear is anymore. Also, it comes with a button which folds your side mirrors in! Comes with heated front seats, tried it out today and boy does it warm up quick. Talking about seats, it hugs your body when you are cornering. No more holding onto the steering wheel for dear life when cornering. I like how the lower ride height compared to the 2nd gen Matrix. Exterior wise, it just looks cool.

The only con I have for it is the cargo space (with the seats folded down)and hatch opening. Not as big as the 1st and 2nd gen Matrix.

Overall: :thumbs: the extra 5hp Toyota gave to the iM, I can feel it the powwaaa LOL. Now there are 3 Toyota iM in my neighborhood.
Beware if you going with the Electric Storm Blue. If you scratch it, you can see it from a distance.

Great question. I think the biggest thing that changed was that when Ford released the msrp of the 2018 RS, it jumped up about 10k more, and I knew if I didn't get the car now I would lose out as this was already the very top of my price point.

For driving, the more seat time I put in the more superior to the ST it is. The driving dynamics are totally different though and that's what threw me off. The ST is a torque monster and hits peak boost well before 3k rpm. Around town on a roll it would be hard to mess with. The RS drives way more like an STI. Moderate turbo lag but once it kicks in it pulls right to redline. Since all I did was test drive the RS, obviously I didn't drive it like I stole it, so it was underwhelming. Definitely not the case now.

Great question. I think the biggest thing that changed was that when Ford released the msrp of the 2018 RS, it jumped up about 10k more, and I knew if I didn't get the car now I would lose out as this was already the very top of my price point.

For driving, the more seat time I put in the more superior to the ST it is. The driving dynamics are totally different though and that's what threw me off. The ST is a torque monster and hits peak boost well before 3k rpm. Around town on a roll it would be hard to mess with. The RS drives way more like an STI. Moderate turbo lag but once it kicks in it pulls right to redline. Since all I did was test drive the RS, obviously I didn't drive it like I stole it, so it was underwhelming. Definitely not the case now.

It really is! I was looking at the 996 and other cars but this one popped up and I'm glad it did. I wasn't expecting to be impressed but I drove it and was sold.

This one has less then half of 140k kms. It handles like a dream and all the controls are nicely weighted and feel good to operate. I especially love the steering feel compared to my previous cars. It reminds me the most of my old S2000 but more solid, with more power and better build quality.

I would say to anyone else who is thinking of getting a Cayman - do it!
