First time going back to a costco in quite a while and I'm disappointed that they don't serve/provide onions with the hotdogs any more. Rotisserie chicken is still good.
Speaking of rotisserie chicken, I saw they also added cooked/ready to serve BBQ ribs. Anybody try this yet?

For you coffee geeks out there, both newbies and addicts, some Costco locations have the Braun K9170SI on sale for $149.99. It's a multi-brew coffee maker capable of brewing coffee a variety of ways, and is SCA certified. A great buy and alternative to the Technivorm Moccamaster at less than half the price. This unit is regularly $265 or so.
Anyone seen these tire totes at a local costco?

Couple years ago sure but not the last 3-4 years
Any know which Costco still has the Kirkland Pet Bed?
I think the one I have has reached the limit of its service life. Kitties love them... so, I want to replace it with the same one.
Was at Surrey Costco and they didn't have it anymore.

Not surprised especially with the new restrictions in the lower mainland.
Stocking up to reduce your trips out for shopping feels like one of the few things you have control over. We stocked up on non-perishables last week so we don't have to go to Costco for a while.

The ribs that are pre-marinated self baked is 2x better at half the price. More tender and juicy.

The full rack of ribs? They are great with the honey chipotle marinade etc
However the downside of those ones are they need to cook for 2 hours

I haven't seen TP at the Willingdon Costco in weeks
So many at 8:00 am. Get your grandparents to go at 8:00 am during seniors' hour, or go at 9:00. If the number of seniors in the warehouse is low, they let regular customers in early. I think they make the call at 8:30 am.
I go to the Brighton Avenue location and they have lots there in the mornings. I haven't been to the Willingdon location in a couple of days, but when I was, they had a shitload in stock. Could they sell out that quickly?
Honestly, I have not purchased toilet paper in a long ass time. This pandemic is not making me shit more............. Paper towels I can see running out, because you need to disinfect and whatnot, but toilet paper?

You can always order TP online. Buy 3 cases be good for a long time
I haven't seen TP at the Willingdon Costco in weeks
I saw and bought TP there just last week.
I’m at Willingdon Costco right now. 20 pallets of TP. Each pallet is 6 feet high. I’ll upload pics later when I get home. It’s amazing. A wall full of TP and paper towels.
As promised............ Kleenex section to the left and bottled water to the right.
I broke down and purchased those hazelnut cream filled donut things. Not bad at all. Not as good as Angel Doughnuts from Duffin's, but not bad. Everytime I see those things, the produced date is always the day before and the expiry is one day after. W - T - F ?
Oh, Bailley's Original Irish Cream creamers were on sale. They're non alcoholic, but what the hell. I'll try anything once. It says on the bottles, made with real cream. 2 x 1 Litre bottles for $7.99.

WTF is up with these lineups again? Did something change?
For the last few weeks there hasn't been any lineups to get into the Willingdon Costco, I tried going the last 2 days and both the Production Way and Willingdon locations had long ass lineups at friggin' 2 in the afternoon on a weekday.
This have to do with the new restrictions? I just drove on past and said fuck it, not about to lineup in the cold and rain for coconut water and toilet paper :lol

Nothing changed... it's just more people are doing some panic-shopping again.
I was at Richmond Costco last morning. The line looked bad (past the parking lot entry/exit to Bridgeport Rd), but it moved relatively quickly... I was lining up from there to the warehouse in about 5min... definitely a lot better than the previous lockdown when 15min+ wait was normal.
Anyway, I'm well stocked (still). At least 2packs each for TP, PT and Kleenex. Also easily 1+ mth of supply for food/drink if it comes to that. Only thing not enough is milk... but I also have some milk powder that I can use in absolute emergency. Actually just went to Costco Richmond for my pet bed. :D... I know I know... priorities...
I think the lesson is... just stock up on everything that's non-perishable/frozen stuff you can easily rotate. This virus will be with us for easily another 6mth to a year.

I’ve found them listed as available/in stock but every time I’ve tried to order them they won’t deliver to my postal code. This has been going on since March so I’m fairly confident it’s not going to happen until things are back to normal. That said, anytime I’m shopping Costco delivery I try again.
While on the subject of ordering online, I tried Costco’s yellow fin tuna for poke and was very happy with it. According to reviews it may be hit or miss so YMMV but my batch was quite good so no complaints. Luckily I got 10lbs for $150 and it’s up to $190 now but I’ll order again as it’s a hit for the whole family https://www.costco.ca/oceanprime-yellow-fin-tuna-poke.product.100521237.html
https://i.imgflip.com/4m1sfx.jpg
^this was my first attempt. I’ve made the tuna marinade a lot lighter with less soy to preserve the nice pink of the natural tuna since this pic was taken. I don’t have any pics of more recent attempts. Plating poke for 5 is time consuming and I just wanna eat when it’s done lol
Edit: also did a poor man’s replication of Nobu’s Yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño which was another way to play with the ingredient. It didn’t turn out nearly as great as the real deal but was still good though lol.. has anyone here tried Nobu’s version? So damn good. Had it in Vegas and NY.. man I want to travel again!

I'm going again tomorrow, lol. I'm trying to clean up the garage. I bought those wire racks today. They work really well, so getting another one tomorrow. Willingdon only received two layers of Lysol Wipes this morning. I found out Brighton also received a limited amount. I'm thinking each location gets a pallet. They put aside what they need for the warehouse and sell the rest. Just a guess. Every dairy case has a Lysol Wipes canister for customer use. Must go through a fair amount over the course of the day.
I don't order a hot dog early in the morning, but I made an exception today. And yes, they DO NOT HAVE ANY ONIONS............
I got my fill of onions at KMS Tool's 3 Day Sale. Gawd, those smokies are so damn good. Caramelized onions, ftmfw!

What the hell are people still hoarding Lysol wipes for? Are you people STILL wiping down your groceries? Fomite transmission is rare and you should be washing your hands/sanitizing anyways - which is the vector viruses come into you anyways.
I bought 4 tubs of Lysol wipes at the beginning of the pandemic and still have 3 full ones sitting around. I basically only use it when I go pump gas or when I decide to eat in the car.

Even if they took more than one the cashier would have likely took it away. I went to buy a few things this morning including paper towel and kleenex. I took 2 kleenex's not realizing it was a limit of one and the cashier took one away advising all paper products had a limit of 1 per membership.
It's nice to finally see wipes in general easily accessible now in stores be it not Lysol brand for those who really care. It isn't at the level of hand sanitizer but it's still easy to get.

if you go to different locations throughout the week youre at least giving a chance to others to grab some while they are in stock. There is no guarantee there is stock at a future date

I use them to wipe down the plug at the charging stations. I also clean the other plug for whoever uses them next. If the wipe still looks useable, I clean the buttons, the cable, and the rest of the unit.

The difference is the use of sugar, versus corn syrup. Pepsi makes a similar product.
Another great item they have at Costco are those little hand warmers. No batteries required. Chemical reaction. I remember throwing in a pack of them in the kids’ Halloween bags along with the chocolates. Don’t know why I stopped doing it. If and when they go on sale, I’ll get a couple of boxes for next Halloween. I’ve been using them lately when gardening in the backyard. Fricken leaves and branches, lol. Sometimes I leave them in my glove for too long. I’m on faiya!
Edit: Just remembered. I gave them out to the parents who were with their kids, not the goodie bag. I remember how cold and miserable it was having to go trick or treating with my own kids.
The things we parents do for our kids, eh?

Not me.......... I go to Costco to get other items. I go to Costco as often as I can, because I love the place. Sometimes I leave without buying a thing. I have posted ways people can get those wipes at Costco. I've given heads up on when things will become available at Costco. Hell, I've even given and resold items to people on RS who really needed it. Honestly, if you, B!tch, PM'd me telling me you've tried everything in your power and couldn't get the wipes, I would gladly give you some. Instead, you post here about others hoarding?
Let me tell you what hoarding is.......... People who retire and go work under the table while collecting their pension. I retired when I could, because I believe young people need jobs. I miss my job. I made a difference at my job. I could have kept working. I live a comfortable life, but don't believe in taking more than I need. Now, do I go about doing something about those people who take more than they need? No, because I would then be judging them.
Don't take this the wrong way, but get some help if you have mental issues........
god bless
I always thought it was better because Mexican Coke used natural cane sugar as supposed to fructose corn syrup?
Oh, don't get me going on high fructose corn syrup in ketchup. It makes ketchup taste like Xindi Ass (not that I've tasted Xindi Ass - watching reruns of Enterprise, ATM). This is why I take good ol' Canadian ketchup with me when I travel south of the border. No wAnder Amuricans are so edgy............ everything they consume has high fructose corn syrup in it. If that doesn't do it, "pink slime," will.

Trailing slightly off topic but honestly even without all the exposure regarding the american mcnuggets I could clearly taste the difference in texture and flavour. It was quite disconcerting... I was super drunk and I still only ate 1 and tossed the rest of my 20pc, that's how bad it was.
When I go shopping for meat and poultry, I make note of where the product comes from. US inspected meat scares the hell out of me. I have no proof or have I researched it extensively, but I simply don't trust the USFDA. Not because they're dishonest, but because a lot of weird stuff is allowed to be in their meats and poultry. The chicken used in the US McNuggets could be pumped with all kinds of chemicals. The price difference between our nuggets and theirs might be because of this? No idea, but every time I go eat at MCD's, Bugger King, Jack in her Box, etc. in the US, I get ill soon afterward.
Maybe the border closure is a blessing in disguise.

Man, like the usual prime rib packs of burgers are pretty good, just Jesus you guys gotta try making your own from the organic ground beef.
Take one pack of the ground beef out of the fridge let it warm up a bit, doesn’t have to be room temp just a bit more pliable. Add one egg, mix and form burgers.
We have those fancy little metal rings with the tamper to make fancy looking towers of food so I use these to make 4 patties from the pound. DO NOT ADD Salt/Pepper
Once they are formed put them on parchment paper and let them chill in the fridge for a few hours, can be overnight etc.
Rub with a tiny bit of olive oil and slap them on the grill, now season with salt and pepper, wait till they free themselves on the grill, usually 3-5 minutes. Flip, season, couple minutes lid down, add cheese, let it melt and take them off.
Best burgers you can make imo. Adding all the other shit into the mix just takes away from the burger imo. These are the tastiest burgers ever, so good
underscore
11-23-2020, 08:01 PM
For ground beef I get the burger patties from the butcher section if I can, since they're straight ground beef just in the shape of a burger it's the same as the big slab but way easier to freeze in portions.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before but Costco recently restocked on the frozen 3 pack duck breasts for $16.99
I think this is a great deal! Usually one duck breast is $10-$12. I already bought 12-15 packs already during the pandemic lol.
It's so easy to make too. Just salt and pepper and pan fry it. So good.

I’m at Costco looking for XMas gifts. The Brighton Avenue location still have the blue nitrile gloves in stock. For any of you who are still looking for then. Limit of one
Also, Sun Rype Blue Label Apple Juice is on sale. Works out to $1 each. No big deal in itself as that’s the going sale price everywhere, but the ones they carry at Costco are the Organic ones. Haven’t seen those at your run of the mill food stores.

People hoarding for sure. I went to Metrotown this morning to buy a pack of toilet paper and it was semi chaotic. Granted I only buy Charmin so I'm already limiting myself.
1st stop Superstore, No charmin but the entire toilet paper aisle was fairly wiped out. About 5% of stock left at around 830am
2nd stop Walmart, No Charmin but they were fairly stocked with Royale and other brands
3rd stop T&T, well they don't have a huge stock to begin with but they were about 50% stocked and I grabbed the last Charmin blue, had a few of the ultra strongs left.
To your other question, yes limit of 1 on all paper products including kleenex as well when I went 1.5 weeks ago. Even online it limits you to 1 when you add more than 1 to the cart.

Ah, a fellow hoarder............ :bigthumb:
The funny thing is...I am not even hoarding, I buy 2-3 packs at a time and actually finish them loool.
30 days with receipt. That's the new rule. I was talking to one of the people at the return desk. She told me most people keep their receipts in an envelope and leave it in their car. That way, when something they bought last week goes on sale, they look through their receipts. I always keep receipts up in the visor. Just today, I got $5.00 back for a pack of 9 volt batteries that are on sale this week. I purchased them three weeks ago. I needed 9 volts for a bunch of water leak detectors I purchased. They all use 9 volts. Anyway, I knew batteries go on sale always in November. Never in December when you need them the most (Xmas toys and shit). BTW, hoarding batteries are never a good idea. Even though it says guaranteed for 10 years, they don't. Well, they do, but when you use them, they don't last very long. It's like people who buy milk without checking the date. One person told me, "I'll use it by that date." Yeah, but why not buy one that's way fresher. Not one that's two days from expiry.
Forgot to add, a supervisor can override that rule. I actually had that happen with an air purifier I no longer needed. It wasn't opened. Maybe that's why? I'd try. Never hurts to try.

The funny thing is...I am not even hoarding, I buy 2-3 packs at a time and actually finish them loool.
Don't take it personally. It's more of an inside joke where someone insinuated or perhaps even accused MG1 of being a hoarder and we just ran with the joke. The original comment was a bit over the top, and quite frankly, unnecessary.
For the record @MG1 I don't have any issue or care what people buy. I just don't like or appreciate it when people run at things like a mad dash or if their life depended on it and buy more than what's really necessary for themselves (i.e. masks at the peak of COVID.)

Does anyone else think this thread encourages hoarding? Nothing against you MG1 just my thoughts.

No, it was the B!tch. I wasn’t offended by either of the two posts. Listen I survived 16 years of living in the heart of the DTES. Anyway, god bless...........

1st stop Superstore, No charmin but the entire toilet paper aisle was fairly wiped out. About 5% of stock left at around 830am

They do. Everything is tracked by membership number.
I guess they're just overwhelmed by people returning stuff at the drop of a hat. People really take advantage of the return policy. I guess that's why it's at the discretion of the supervisory staff. They're forced to place limits. Time of 30 days is enough. Plus, having to present a receipt is what most places put in place as a rule. Someone could have purchased the same item from a place like Wal Mart and return it at Costco, although most items have a Costco specific bar code.

They’ve been making a bit bigger of a deal for returns with no receipt recently.
I bought a ceiling fan online in June and returned it unopened in October just because it wasn’t going to work. It still had the stupid Costco shipping slip taped on the box. The guy gave me a bit of attitude in that I needed the order number at least etc. I said my wife and I are both on the joint account and I could provide name, email, date, etc. But I didn’t have the order number and the stupid packing slip didn’t have it either..
He kinda just stood there doing nothing while I attempted to call the wife to get the number because she ordered it through the app, when that wasn’t going anywhere eventually he dug around and found it. But yea I think they are giving a little more pushback lately, if you can call that push back

This is interesting to hear. Yes they can use your membership card to look up your purchases but online is different. It always used to be you could return without receipt but you would get the last price in the system. So if your item went on clearance (ending in .97) that is the amount you would get back.
Sounds like a lot of people are using Costco online and local warehouses are dealing with piles of returns. My local Costco has signs up no returns on Lysol wipes, toilet paper, rice etc.
And yes one toilet paper per family at Langford. Been like that for a while now.

Always hit and miss funny thing the Grandview location is the location I usually go to cause I lived close to there for a number of years. I'm a few mins closer to the Metro one now and because the weather sucked this morning I opted for cover st Metro which is my most hated version but it was early and I was literally going to be in and out.
Found a jar of Safie Sweet Beets in the back of the pantry. So good. Perfect with Curry. Not cheap, but it's something I treat myself to once in a while. Good shelf life, too. Frugal me likes to dump canned beets in the left over liquid (brine, juice, whatever) to get money's worth. Although nowhere near the freshness. Nothing like freshly opened jar of pickled beets. A regular item at Costco. I discovered it at the Bellingham Costco a few years back. Samples do work. I fell in love with it at first bite. My mother made home made pickled beets and this product is so close to the ones she used to make. It's slightly better............ sorry, mom.
https://safiefoods.com/product/home-style-sweet-pickled-beets/
tried a jar of butter chicken sauce (can't recall brand) from costco, easy to cook with and tasted great IMO.
It's convenient and alright. They go on sale every now and then. That's the only time I buy the stuff. Comes in a 2 pack. Name has three letters in it like KFC, lol.

The Spirit E-330 is their basic model. Made in China, but that's ok, still has the warranty, and is generally pretty good.
It's a good grill, 699 is a good price for it. Spend the extra over the Nexgrill or whatever other brand Costco sells usually, as it will last longer.

Mine has the 3 burners plus the broiler grill as well as the element on the side. I believe I paid around the same. I’ve had older Weber’s in the past snd the quality seems just as good. The only downside I noticed right off the bat is they have the ceramic coated grill grates as opposed to the full stainless ones.
Imo for the price probably hard to beat and it’s more grill than most people need

I have a Napoleon Rogue and can't say I love it - it's not as hot as I would expect and flareups are way too frequent IMO. Napoleon has good reviews though - they're generally considered as good as Weber so maybe it's a case of buying the cheaper Chinese made one.

Another things you can do to reduce flare-ups is to clean the grill box and the burner caps (the triangle hoods) underneath regularly. I use a paint scraper to get everything off into the box, and then scrape it out into the grease tray every 3-4 months depending on how often I use it.
Also, if you get GrillGrates it will help to reduce the flare-ups. I am a believer in them now after having them for two seasons. Better searing, more even heat, and much less flare-ups than before - only when I do something super fatty like pork belly, even then the flaring is very minimal.

You gotta step up to the Prestige (Mine is 5 years old and absolutely fantastic). The rogue are the Chinese made low end line. The Prestige lines are the Canadian made ones and are way higher quality. This is why you see the Rogues in box stores like Home Depot and Prestiges in specialized dealers.

Get a paint scraper or flat blade of some kind to scrape down the sides of the box. Works much better than shop towels or whatever else... scrape it down. If you need, you could even powerwash the burner hoods and grates if they're especially dirty.
Definitely consider them, they're worth the investment. Look out for the seconds sale for a much cheaper set, nobody will care that it doesn't match cosmetically lol.

Quantity of burners doesn't necessarily correspond to heat output because burners can be different sizes/outputs themselves.
However more burners gives you the ability to better control of your heat zones, especially for indirect cooking.

It wouldn't be normal to really have any gunk inside the burner,
You shouldn't really need to spray into them with water. I mean I guess you could, but the concern would be getting them dry inside after.
What normally happens if you use your BBQ a lot is the burner's flame holes will get carbon buildup, which effectively reduces their size and performance. My Napoleon gave me a little kit with a drill bit and tiny pipe brush which I use once a year to open them all up again.

BBQ consists of metal tubes with holes in them, covered by some sheet metal heat shields in a metal box. With a couple 1.5v batteries connected somewhere down the line to a little igniter. You could hit that thing with a fire hose and it’s not going to do shit but make a greasy mess of your deck lol. May need to dru out your igniter but that’s about it. I hit my BBQ with a hose/degreaser every couple seasons. If it went completely under water maybe you would have a regulator issue. Not sure, never taken one apart. Honestly just a solid scrub with the BBQ brush is plenty most of the time. The only issue with some of the cheaper stainless BBQs is they will rust out. I’m sure water sitting in there won’t help that situation.

3 burner makes it easier to do stuff like smoking meats or for indirect cooking. With 3 burners you can run 1 burner and still have more than half the grill for indirect cooking or smoking.
A couple Xmas' ago I slow cooked a prime rib on the bbq with 1 burner going - it was bloody amazing. Next time I'm gonna put a bit of wood in there to give some smokiness.
Also makes it easier to manage the heat in your box - if I've got something that drips a lot but I need the heat I turn down the burner underneath the drippy stuff and keep the other 2 burners cranked.

Hey welcome back.
I drink them straight most of the time. I mixed it with whiskey once and ended up drinking way too much.
It's a bummer it's not a twist cap, super inconvenient when I want to quickly get a drink.

Damn, the Fanta Pineapple is so damn good. I’ve had family and friends wanting their own. I went about an hour ago and there were a handful left. Also, haven’t been to Costco at the end of the day for quite some time. Seniors hour for me these days. Anyway the place was half empty of product. One of the workers told me today was a slow day. Damn. Most if not all hand sanitizers wipes and masks were being blown out. KN95 masks that used to be 39.95 were being reduced to $9.95.

Four days ago two full pallets. well, 1 and 4/5.
KN95's were at the Willingdon. Went today, none left. I plan to wear masks all the time now. Especially when I'm at the casinos.

Kelowna Costco is terrible for this; picked over by late afternoon every time we are there. Went to Kamloops Costco last weekend and it was eerie to see a store much quieter and with everything in stock.

Richmond Costco about half a skid of the KN95s when I walked in. They're right by the entrance.
About quarter a skid left when I left.
They're individually packed and fold flat. Be nice to just throw them everywhere for emergency use and whatnot.

I got this last week for $189 and imo its a really good deal. Other comparable benches i see being twice as much. I needed a bench for me to work on my little projects in my garage and it also replaces my 5 year old small 5 drawer tool box which i surprisingly sold on FB for $150 within an hour. I think i bought it originally for that much. The bench is twice the size of my old one, and with the 3 drawers, has top storage, and bottom storage and u can store tools underneath the wood piece aswell.

It would be nice if it came with wheels
You need to fix more stuff around the house for her..........
The first present my wife ever gave me while I was dating her, was a Black and Decker Work Mate, lol. She loved the fact I was a handy man. I was really into woodworking back then. Anyway, you can always add wheels. Just about everything in my garage is on wheels. You can store way more stuff if they're on wheels. If only I can remember where I put stuff, gulolol.

Hit it with a wipe down of simple green and then hose and a dish soap. Need to make it semi presentable or my wife won’t have it. Not sure when I get to this project. Lol curious if she will notice.
I think I need to start a YouTube channel with all these projects. Lol.

Finished the restore. Got pretty fed up halfway through and started half assing the job. Side tables will need to be stripped and redone. Fliptuner gave me a burner set but sadly it doesn’t fit. I actually chopped and welded it in more places then I’d of be willing to tell an insurance company. Sadly it’s still not quite right. So once I get the burner situation figured out, I’ll purchase the new flavoruizer bars and start Cookin.
The before and after photos don’t make me feel great. That was a shit ton of work but looks way better in person. Haha. Gross greasy work.

Call Costco with that item number and they will tell you right away if it is in stock and where. They will even tell you if they are getting any more in this year or not, and if they are, when.
Choose "1" on your phone as soon as you get the prompt.
I call them all the time. Both Willingdon and Brighton Avenue locations are really good with helping customers with requests for info on products they carry.

If anyone is wanting all season tires Costco has some pretty good rebates right now, just picked up a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires for just under $205.00 a corner taxes in ($130.00 instant rebate) it looks like there is going to be a major winter tire shortage so don't get caught if you are wanting to upgrade.
Wow, Costco Bellingham is making some nice changes. Starting off with a Costco Carwash. They broke ground and are working on the supply lines (water and electrical). On the way out today, I noticed something interesting. Drove up to it and realized it's a tire filling station. Two pumps where you just dial in the psi you need and the station beeps and stops once the target is reached. Same system they use in the tire shop. And yes, it's nitrogen, gulolol.
Also, I notice after two years of it being in place people still don't get the LED pump icons at the top of the entrance to each island. They are either lit red or green. Red means the pumps are being used. Green means a spot is available. I don't know how many times I've had to get out of the car to tell people to move forward into those spots. It's a great feature, but nobody seems to get it. In any case the gas at Costco is always cheapest in the area. Not even close. Even after the discounts you get at Fred Meyer and the casinos. Plus, it's Top Tier gas, gulolol. Gas was $4.99/gallon for regular grade on Monday.
Forgot to mention. Chicken Bake from the deli - so good. I even purchased two boxes of the frozen ones.

MG1 - do you know if the gas pumps now take the digital Costco cards or do I still need my physical card? I always keep forgetting to bring my physical card so I haven't gone to get gas since pre-pandemic.
I have no idea. I always have my card with me. If I forget the Executive Card, I have the Costco Mastercard as a backup. I see this red scanning thing blinking on the pumps. Could that be the reader? Best to call them.

Debating if I should buy the wet vac at costco for $80. Regret not getting it for $50 awhile back to vacuum interior of car.
From my experience, you cannot beat a Ridgid shop vac from Home Depot. The one's sold at Costco are sub par. Not everything at Costco is great. In fact, most non food items at Costco are not anywhere near good to best quality. Cheap, maybe, but that's about it.
Just my two bits. With Ridgid, you can get replacement parts and accessories, while anything from Costco not so much.
And, the Ridgid shop vacs at Home Depot go on sale once in a while. Black Friday, Labour Day, Boxing Day, Fathers Day, etc.......
Just an example, I was pretty tired of things being blown around by the exhaust. Diffuser from Home Depot. Problem solved. HEPA filter? Yup, they carry various types of filters. Accessories like special attachments, all available at Home Depot. I have three Ridgid vacs at home. Some as old as 20+ years. At work (when I was still working) Ridgid took helluva beating, like dropped down stairs and loading docks, lol. Still works. Just have to red green it.
Haha......... just remembered an incident that happened at the processing plant I worked at. These two fellas got into an argument in the lunch room Fight ensued. one guy fell backwards onto a Ridgid shop vac. The vac top came apart. The other guy picks up the hose with the top still attached, He swung it around hitting the side of the building and other objects. Long story short. I was supervisor/crew chief. I made sure management didn't find out about the altercation. The two combatants were brothers, lol. Only brothers would fight like that. The Ridgid shop vac......... survived.

I bought this Ridgid one last year for $79 on sale.

One of the best things I've ever bought. Just make sure you get the car cleaning kit, which for some reason is more expensive than the vacuum itself, lol.

There's this one if you don't mind having something larger. It comes with the kit itself. You save $20 versus buying it separately.

Rigid are probably preferred over the Costco one, agreed
I find however when using the Hepa filters, overtime you blow the motors fairly regularly. I bought a brand new rigid one when i started my renovations and ended up blowing the motor about a year in after vaccuming my attic out, drywall dust, etc. it’s too much work to hang out the filter all the time. However you’ll hear the motor sound different indicating it’s definitely time to bang it off

What do you do when Mrs. Hondaracer makes a similar sound?
