today was a really bunk day.. all week i've been out of town contracted at teck cominco in trail. finally it's friday and we're on our way back to kelowna and what happens? water pump on our truck goes. so i end up taking a greyhound home from christina lake, and my foreman stays the night waiting for the new water pump from cookson. in the end i'm home about 5 hours later than i should have been, and i had to walk from the greyhound station with all my bags to the mccurdy area. if i didn't come home to a full fridge of cold kokanees i don't know what i'd do..

well left kelowna at 5:30am and got to Golden in 3 hours. taking a break and heading out to Calgary for sport compact nights

so one of my headlights burnt out again... these silverstars are only one month old! sweet, gotta love how long they last.

today i called D&M auto recylcling on the westside looking for some 92-95 civic or 94-00 integra lower strut forks....

He asks me: "why, you need shocks? "

I reply: "no, i found a set of Koni adjustables in vancouver but i need the lower forks that connect to the control arm."

He shouts back quickly: "well i have a set here ya know.. Tokico's...... illuminas...... adjustable, theyre the best you can buy."

I reply: "well those are good, but i only need lower forks"

He just goes off: "yeah i just bought a set of illuminas for my wifes car eh. $230 bucks a pop, theyre the best you can buy. how you pay for yours??? I've rally raced and stuff and theyre awesome. what kinda springs you running? those ones about the size of a beer can?"

bewildered i reply: "the struts are $500. and i dunno the springs are about stock honda size, theyre Eibachs. "

he says: "$500? each right"

i say: "no for all four"

He says: "oh yeah those springs are shitty the car rides super stiff and has no suspension travel. You should get somthing a foot longer you have to compress on. wait till you put them in they'll feel horrible. the illumina is a way better strut, thats why theyre 230 each."

thinking he's on drugs now, i say: "well they still had to be compressed on, theyre stock honda size and the car rides great, nice and smooth"

he says: "yeah well thats cause you have crappy koni's in there"

finally choked i say: " DUDE, Koni adjustables are adjustable struts in damping and ride height. Theyre MUCH better than any illumina. and Koni's are still not the best you can get! Eibach springs are some of the most expensive, best riding coil springs made. ALSO, i do not have Koni's in my car YET because i need lower strut FORKS from a 92-95 civic or a 94-00 integra so i can install these shocks... .... ....

he says: "well hey can i let you go, i am buried in paperwork and it's just about 5 so i wanna go home. call me back tomorrow"

i say: "well quickly tell me, DOYOU have any 92-95 civics or 94-00 integras in your lot. i need lower strut forks."

he says: " yeah i have some old civics like yours out here, gimme a shout tomorrow"

i shake my head say "ok bye" and i'm left speechless
