its all good not to care about your image, but when you look like you just crawled out of a dumpster it might be time to step it up a notch. the business world isnt just about being a |337 h@x0rZ ;)

you're pretty fuckin clueless, champ. i'm sure it helps you sleep at night thinking i'm some virgin computer nerd. sorry, that isn't the case. hell, maybe i should have kept my job selling cordless phones to senior citizens and maybe i'd be cruising in a BMW and pretending to be a baller just like you... nobody's perfect i guess though, right?

thanks for the business advice there too. definately means a lot coming from a salesman. you still didn't answer my question about the FS retirement package.. i was actually serious.

how about stopping the arguing or taking it to PM :). I'm sure there's members here that don't want to see this shit. Any regular member would be told the same thing and/or given points so I don't think the rules should be any different.

the world doesn't revolve around you son, and most of us actually don't want to be just like you. i've spent thousands on my hobbies and blown more money than you can imagine. last month i impulse bought a new violin for fucks sake.. and i don't even play. quite simply there are more things that matter to me than my car and my clothes. it's too bad you're too dense to understand this.

anyway, this is pointless. if you'd like to continue being a dick, give me a call sometime and we'll discuss this in person.

I'd hate to jump in on this but it's kinda funny.

That's not an impulse buy.... that's just stupid.

Not really, considering one of my passions is music and I'm looking to extend my ability to play different instruments.

My phone number is already posted a few times in this forum.

It sounds like you have a good job. I was more referring to retail sales, which in this city, doesn't get you too far. Something along the lines of business to business sales with high volume would be preferred.

I still don't know much about your job, but it sounds rewarding. And to be honest i'm a little jealous.

And yes, as many have said... Sales jobs are rewarding, especially if your good at them. I'm quite happy selling commercial transport truck parts, pays not shabby and I get to buy nice things like new supercharged Miatas :)

eviljeenyus 06-22-2006 12:08 PM

Are you commission based, base rate, or both?

SmokeyTheBandit 06-22-2006 01:30 PM

what i have been doing for the past while and traveling abroad..

i have been doing sales for fortune 500 companies. mainly Rogers Telecom and Shaw Cable.

i have also done sales for ATCO in alberta. if you google ATCO, you will find its massive.. from supplying albertan's with gas, to providing the us military with top of the line SONAR & satilette equipment.

i've done sales from plain jane residential services to full out business of any kind.

i am now getting myself into the realestate market. i figured i've learned alot dealing with various companies and working with different marketing strategies that i could do well selling houses.

everyone and there dog is doing it, but from what i can see. not very many young people are in the market. mostly men/woman in there 30s to 50s.

however, i dont know the market that well yet. it seems a bit scary to get into long term.. because i've heard after 2010.. the market will crash. but again, i dont have any real educational background to put down into it.. as i am just getting my feet wet in the market and i plan to learn everything and work beside an agent for 1-2 years before i just dive into it.

if your smart, dedicated, have connections.. 6 figures isnt a dream in the business, but for someone like myself, i probably wouldnt do very well. thats why i plan on taking a diff learning approach, apprenticing i guess you could call it.

anyways... thats how my parents made there money.

My step-mom is in the real-estate business, and from what she tells me, it is the top few realtors that make all the money...and the rest struggle to break even. It is true about it being mainly older people that sell houses, but that probably has a lot to do with most home buyers being over 30. But people are starting to buy younger now, so you might have an interesting market niche.

everyone and their dog is getting into realestate now.

I love how talk about exhaust turns into a stupid arguement about materialist lifestyles.

Seriously people, why? Do you think you can call yourself better than someone because you drive a nice car and hang out with hot girls? Do you think you can put someone down because your lifestyle is different from his? I think you guys are both doing what you want to do, so what is the point of arguing?

Besides that, I dont understand what the whole deal is with people dwelling on their possessions and going on about how you're "cool and successfull" because you have this and that or because you have a spendy lifestyle. I look down on people with materialistic mindsets. Isnt there more to life than your belongings?

Shun you both anyways because I have an airplane and you dont. jk
