Did you alter the second picture? The contrast is stunning but it's a bit much. Could use better lighting too!

Ronald, just so you know, you shot that at F5.30

:)

Thanks for the advice guys :) I get what you guys are saying, and will definitely try that out soon..

Went for a drive a couple of nights ago, and took some pics..I like this one the best, but I want to hear it from the picky guys hehe :D

It looks good, except all the lighting is in the background. This would have potentially made a fantastic HDR. I do really like the composition, but the background is just too bright compared to the car and keeps distracting me.

If you shot this in raw, you may be able to an HDR still, I'm not sure though, I've never tried from just one image.

MikesJo 09-18-2007 07:50 AM

The shot is good but i really hate that location. I've never used it but I've seen so man pics posted on this forum shot in the same place with the same background. Gets boring.

It's not you, it's that location :).

RonaldTypeR 09-18-2007 10:04 PM

Thanks for the advice guys! Yeah I agree, this spot is overrated and boring haha but I've never taken any car shots there before, and if anything, I was just curious to see what it looks like :)

I did shoot it in RAW, so I will see if I can play around with it some more..

My first attempt at a car shoot:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/PICT5139.jpg

Could have been better, but I only have two hands.

ColinK 09-19-2007 08:32 AM

I like the idea behind it. What I would recommend next time for this situation would be to cut out the big light on the right, it's way too bright and distracting compared to everything else being black

Senna4ever 09-19-2007 09:21 AM

Yeah, I tried to retake/improve this shot, but I think the night needs to be a foggy one for it to work.

I like that one. The light is alot less distracting, and it works pretty well with the rest of the photo...i like how its dark, and kind of mysterious.... i agree that if it was foggy, it would have added to the feeling though, and made for a better picture.

^^ Film camera correct?

The two last pictures are my favorite!

ColinK 09-29-2007 06:05 AM

^ same here. Nice shots!

Car Chick 09-29-2007 11:47 PM

gawd, i love the look of film. Nothing beats it. (except maybe the fact that the negative can't get destroyed by light in DSLR lol)

Anyways, great photos. Really makes you think differently about each one when it is film.

You guessed it, I was on my way home from picking up a second flash and it was raining, so I needed some cover.

First time shooting in RAW, and I don't have any real lighting equipment so I used a 2 million candle power spotlight diffused with a 4L milk jug pointed towards the roof.

mc25 10-03-2007 10:55 PM

I like it dude. I like how the interior dash light matches the exterior colours, looks rad.
What car is that? (besides a BMW :p)
