Boostslut, 1 is the better picture. Play with the colour and contrasts a bit more, try separating the car from the background a little more

Boostslut 04-07-2008 01:48 PM

Thanks Mananetwork! So separating the car from the background, it means how it sounds? Park a bit further away from the background? Good feedback.

What's nice about it is you had back light, so the background wasn't as well exposed as the the car. More separation would of been good, but you were on the right track to start with. I saw you shot at F6.3, something like 2.8 or 4 would of helped. What you can do now is playing with contrast and isolating the car with vignetting or something cool.

Edit: PS, some tire dressing would have been good!

Mananetwork 04-07-2008 02:34 PM

I hope you don't mind, I saw tons of potential in this image... So I played around with it a little.. JUST a little

That's a really cool shot, except you're straight-on to your front wheel and it looks like there's nothing there at all :)

Looks like he:

-boosted saturation
-turned up contrast
-maybe USM (unsharp mask)

Did I miss anything? Maybe some dodging and burning here and there, but probably not.

Levitron 04-08-2008 09:31 AM

.....oh yeah and a crop too.

A good start...you already seem to have some principles down pat.

Like Soundy has already mentioned, the wheel turns might need to be taken care of better in your shots. Just keep in mind that sometimes a straight wheel works too! :)

ColinK 04-09-2008 10:51 PM

I couldn't decide between these first two :(
