Tom did you lower that fit even more after processing it?

Metal: Nice shot of the bike. How much do one of those go for?

I tought myself how to ride one before I even took a riding course. It's actually way easier than driving a standard car.

^ i think i saw you and another accord heading to richmond the other night.. turning left onto knight from 49th.. then as i was waiting to turn left i saw another accord like you guys going down too....

RonaldTypeR 06-10-2008 01:51 PM

Yeah we were all heading down Richmond after the Hats Off to grab some food :D

!Yaminashi 06-10-2008 01:54 PM

I saw the hats off day posted on VAC, but I never bothered to click on it

I should've :(

Mananetwork 06-10-2008 02:08 PM

I really like seeing your posts RonaldTypeR. I think you have the locations nailed down, they're always original!
One thing your missing is the key concept of what you are shooting and maybe some pre planning of placement/lens and fstop

Levitron 06-10-2008 03:53 PM

So THAT'S why Hastings was shut off like that the other day. Took me forever to get to Barnet Hwy :(

Thanks a lot, I appreciate that! I usually try to find new locations, and just work with what I have..Most of the time they are just random though :D

Care to elaborate what you mean by key concept and pre-planning of placement/lens and fstop? I'd love to hear an advice or two from an expert so I can learn to take better shots! Thanks in advance

Ronald

I think what Tom means is instead of doing randoms/candids that you encounter, you should try setting up a shot.

So from what I gather, what Tom also means by "pre-planning" is:
-first of all, have a "shot" that you have in your head that you want to realize
-"pose" the car with a spot that has a background you imagined in your head
-set up lighting
-think about the DOF you want to have in the shot
-think about the overall feeling that you want to achieve

JordanLee 06-11-2008 12:10 AM

Hey Ronald, dope shots. Im relatively new to the SLR scene and wanted to know what kind of lighting was used and what settings? Thanks

On my way home today, spotted a parking lot that seemed to be decently lit.
Snapped a shot, and did a quick WB on it.

Would like some C&C.
I find it quite difficult shooting a dark colored car when the sun goes down...

Thanks in advance.

MikesJo 06-11-2008 09:19 PM

Nice shot but the background is too distracting for me. I'd try isolating the car now or if you're going to include the background think how to use it effectively. Good start.
