So from what I gather, what Tom also means by "pre-planning" is:
-first of all, have a "shot" that you have in your head that you want to realize
-"pose" the car with a spot that has a background you imagined in your head
-set up lighting
-think about the DOF you want to have in the shot
-think about the overall feeling that you want to achieve

Example RonaldTypeR, the 3rd picture with the shopping cars has HUGE potential!! The lighting is perfect and the background could be used just right to bring out the car. Try re shooting it by brining out the car from the carts (if you can) and shoot with a longer lens 125mm-175mm and center the car in the middle with the carts in the background. Kneel down and take it from a 3 footers perspective (because the car looks pretty low already).
Try to cover the frame from left to right with carts too.

3rd picture is distracting because of all those damn shadows. To many lights from to many corners make 3-4 shadows of the same pillar. Try to shoot it in the morning when the suns out.

Wow thanks a lot for all the advices and the how-to! I will try to look into everything a lot more next time, I don't even realize many of those things until you guys mentioned them!

Well, I took some pics over the weekend, and this time I tried to mess around with color temperatures, and processed the pics slightly different than usual, hoping that they'd set different moods..Here are a few..C&C will be much appreciated as always!

I really like them actually. I think #2 tho has a bit too much sky in it. Some people may like that tho. Good job! :)

wow those accords are pure jdm sex! awesome shots

Levitron 06-23-2008 11:40 PM

Good stuff Ronald!

I like the last two; not because of the warmer colour temperature, but because of the fact that you posed/framed the cars better.

Also, I like the attention to detail in that last one ;) I like the "special touch" that you added!

As for the first one, I'd crop it at the top of that concrete wall and clone out that bottom paint line. Not big issues though.

From a few weeks ago...
Probably overdid the post processing. But I had to edit out a telephone pole and cables going across the frame.

Huge improvement RonaldTypeR!!
I like number 2 and 3

Another excellent BG.
Not to take anything away from your car, great shot overall!

clone out "22" and the parking lines. would look a lot cleaner!
