yes f-stop is related to aperature
big f-stop just means a big f/# (ex. f/22 is a big f-stop and f/1.8 is a small f-stop)

this is related to aperature (how much your lens opens up to allow X amount of light in) as a big f-stop (ex. f/22) is a small aperature (small opening) and a small f-stop (ex. f/1.8) is a big aperature (big opening)

think of it as an inverse relationship b/w the two

i think.

thanks, but it seems most people i know don't appreciate that shot as much heh :)

That overhead door was at the back of coquitlam centre, near the starbucks (right beside The Bay i think). I would have never found it if my friend didn't point it out as we were driving by haha

yea okay, so the f-stop is just the measurement of the aperature right? At least that what I thought it was.

^ yes. lol i totally forgot to explain it more technically :\ f/22 = 1/22mm opening if i haven't forgotten and so on

I find the sign too distracting...when scrolling down it was the very first thing I saw, and I read it without even noticing the car.

Your other pictures look great though! What camera are you using?

MikesJo 03-28-2006 09:44 AM

Looks like it's in really good condition for a '62.

The pictures look great, and lucky for u it would be easy to photoshop out the sign!

GranTurInj 03-28-2006 11:42 AM

I am using a Canon Digital Rebel XT.

The beetle is in pretty good shape.

And how do I remove that sign in photoshop? I'm sort of new to photoshop still.

metal 03-28-2006 11:58 AM

Spend some time with the clone brush to get rid of that sign :)

metal is right, play with the clone brush, or simply do some nifty copy paste work. i will touch it up if i have a chance later.

If you don't mind, this was a perfect chance for me to play with photoshop a bit, since I'm a total noob at this. So feel free to let me know, all you pros out there (like Dennis :) ), what I could've done better. I know you can still see some dark spots in some areas. It was really hard to get it perfect using the heal or the clone tool, since the building is on a bit of an angle.

PS. I love that car :)
