not gonna bother preordering... just gonna pick it up in store.. im sure they have hundreds of copies per store. had a bad experience pre-ordering before where ppl who just walked into the store got it sooner than i did lol |
im lining up |
what's the probability of no stores having stock? I have no desire to line up as I work the following day |
I'm lining up. Will be at the Nordel Crossing EB. Have my order of WoTLK CE pre ordered. |
so why lineup? |
So I can level up a death knight without too many other people around in the starting area. Starting at midnight has its perks. |

er...question. what kind of loot rules does your guild have? my gm won't use DKP cuz his wife would probably end up with nothing for a longass time cuz she rarely raids. |
we use DKP system. Long post inc? This post details the VVV DKP system. In case you're completely blind, the link to the DKP statistics is in the nav bar on the left side. Earning Points DKP points are earned as follows: - 3 DKP for a farm boss kill - 2 DKP per good attempt on a new boss - 20 DKP for killing a new boss for the first time - Bonuses are also awarded for extra raid-wide dedication and performance at the discretion of the officers. The following are NOT worth DKP: - Karazhan / Zul'Aman - Trash clearing - Stupid wipes, whether on a new boss or not The officers may also award or revoke DKP for other reasons, at their discretion. Leaving the guild(even if you return) will reset your DKP to 0. The DKP officer reserves the right to assess penalties to raiders who do not abide by the following rules. Waitlist DKP An officer is assigned to handle the waitlist on each raid. Who this officer is, will be noted in the guild message of the day during the raid. You must whisper this officer to get on the list, and must join the vvvwait chat channel. At points during the raid, the waitlist officer will call for a check in in the vvvwait channel. All waitlist people must respond IN THE CHANNEL. Whispers to the waitlist officer do not count. When your name is called from the waitlist, you are expected to be ready and at the instance(usually summon is available) within two minutes. You are expected to have all reagents needed, be fully repaired, and have all needed consumables on hand. Waitlisted people earn 3 DKP per farm boss kill, 1 DKP per new boss attempt, and 3 DKP for a new boss kill. They do not earn any bonuses. You can do the following things and remain on the waitlist: - Play an alt(this alt must get in the vvvwait channel) - Arenas - Battlegrounds - Farm - Quest - Dailies - Anything else you can stop doing immediately In all cases, you must drop whatever you're doing right away if called on. Doing the following will result in your immediate removal from the waitlist: - Entering any 5 man instance(except to run a lowbie through - but you MUST abandon it immediately if called on) - Entering any raid(except for quest stuff - ie, entering a cleared Kara to complete the quest chains there). - Failing to be ready to raid within two minutes of being called on.(including being AFK when called) - Failing to answer a check in. - Logging off without notice for a extended period. Removal from the waitlist will result in a complete loss of all your waitlist DKP accumulated that night, no matter how long you were on it. Spending DKP VVV uses a closed bid system. Dropped items are assigned to different officers. To place a bid, you send a SINGLE whisper to the officer assigned the loot you want, with your numeric DKP bid. The highest bidder gets the item and his bid is deducted from his total. In case of a tie, the first tiebreaker is the highest current DKP total. The second tiebreaker is a roll off. Restrictions: - You cannot bid more than your total DKP except where noted below. - You are allowed to bid on multiple items from one boss, but your total bids must not exceed your total DKP.(IE, if you have 90 DKP you cannot put 50 DKP bids in on two different items because the total of 100 is higher than what you have) - You cannot use DKP earned during a raid to bid on items from that same raid. DKP gains are not considered until the end of the raid. - All guild members are equal where DKP is concerned. Those DKP rules always take precedence over guild seniority, rank, importance to the raid or attendance. Minimums Every epic item has a minimum bid. Bids cannot be lower than this minimum - it must always be paid. The minimums are as follows: Weapon*: ------------------------------------ 25 *(Exceptions below under "Trinkets") Major Armor Piece: ------------------------- 20 (Chest, Legs, Helm, Gloves, Shoulders) Minor Armor Piece: ------------------------- 15 (Boots, Belt, Bracers) Trinkets, Jewelery & Offhands: ---------- 15 *(Includes offhand weapons 1.4 speed or faster as well as wands and throwing weapons) Notes about minimums: - EVERY guild member ALWAYS has the right to bid minimum on an item REGARDLESS OF THEIR CURRENT DKP. This is an exception to the first rule mentioned earlier. - If you bid minimum on an item and win it but you do not have enough DKP for minimum, you will go into negative DKP. Offspec Items and Alt Bidding - Offspec items are defined as those that do not aid your primary role in the raid. The three roles are Healer, Tank and DPS. If you are a hybrid, then the role that you perform a majority of the time in raids is your primary role no matter what. - If you are performing a different role in raids than you normally do(for instance, a hybrid healing rather than DPSing), your primary role does NOT change. - If you have multiple tier sets, taking set tokens and turning them into pieces that do not aid your role count as offspec(for example, a resto druid wanting a token for a feral piece) - The minimum bid on an offspec or alt item is the stated minimum value minus 10, and the highest possible bid is the minimum value minus 1. The offspec minimums and ranges are as follows: Weapon*: ------------------------------------ 15 - 24 *(Exceptions below under "Trinkets") Major Armor Piece: ------------------------- 10 -19 (Chest, Legs, Helm, Gloves, Shoulders) Minor Armor Piece: ------------------------- 5 - 14 (Boots, Belt, Bracers) Trinkets, Jewelery & Offhands: ---------- 5 - 14 *(Includes offhand weapons 1.4 speed or faster as well as wands and throwing weapons) In case of a tie, the offspec bidder with the most total DKP wins the item. If a main spec bidder has less DKP than the normal minimum and there are offspec bids, they can still bid the normal min to put them into negative DKP to trump all offspec bids. Two final points to note: 1. In the event of a double identical item drop (ie: two or more of the same tier token), both winners will pay the lower of the two winning bids. 2. There is a safety cap to prevent gross overspending: - A winning bidder will only ever be charged a maximum of double the second highest bid. - If there are no other bidders the winner will pay only the minimum value for the item. with WOTLK on its way, there has been talk of revising our dkp system. imo for any guild dkp system works the best. loot council works fine as well.. but im not a fan of it |
Depends lol for our guild we usually go main spec first and then ppl who wants it will roll. Highes roll gets the loot. Then it is off spec and if no one wants the loot then it gets DE and we roll the shard in the end. In Pug or BT any major 25man run we usually limit to one drop per person. Meaning if you roll something and you get the drop you won't be able to roll for anymore items that time unless no one else wants the drop then you can have it. It also depends on the run though. Most run I been to ppl are pretty nice and will pass the item up if someone needs it coz it will upgrade them more. We usually don't go by top dps coz some class can't do as much damage as other class but they provide vital buffs and other stuff to the raids. But I image with the new changes to spell power and soon duel spec rolling will be confusing. You will have mage locks priest spirest rolling for the same gear which kinda of sucks. Now there is duel spec. Say you spec for Resto shammy for this raid but realy other than raid you are always Enhancement so when a dps gear drop of coz you are going to roll for it. Other dps in the raid might complain since currently you are spec for resto but rolling for dps gear. Is not really off spec anymore coz it cost no gold to re spec and you do have 2 spec. Unless in WoLk blizzard up the drop rate of items I can see there are goign to be tones of agurement and stuff. Good thing our guild already decided that what you spec currently for the raid is ur main spec so your other spec is off spec. Quote:

god damn bounce. that's a longass post but i like it lol i've been trying to get my guild on DKP for wrath and even for kara the last few months. but my GM just won't have it. so i had a major argument with him yesterday and i finally blew up and told him he won't do it because it'll mean his wife won't get shit cuz she never raids. she pops in occasionally and then fucks up when her pet decides to go after random mobs. and they fucked over some poor kid that tanked kara for them last week. wouldn't let him roll on tanking gear cuz my guild was trying to gear up a new warrior tank. the pally actually whispered me asking for help. Turns out my imbecile of a GM didn't even explain the loot rules leading to all this crap. and then, the pally saved my gm's ass on the isle by healing him when he was almost dead, and what does my GM say?? "oh, he's probably sorry he caused so much trouble for us." and mr. GM decides to bitch at me for pugging BT and MH and says i should be with the guild more often. yes...i should...especially when his wife takes my spot amirite? argghhhh /migraine i'm not sure if this post even made any sense. slightly frustrated atm. lol |
