The best profession for you would probably depend on what class of toon you have created. I have an elemental shaman and I have gone with Dragonscale Leatherworking and Enchanting. DS LW I went with as tehre are many patterns that I can get that will benefit me a lot. Enchanting I went with for the +12 Spell power on the rings. I would not recommend going with tailoring if you are anything other than a priest, lock or mage.

As for making money, I made about 4000g in the couple days fafter the last big patch making glyphs on my druid. I had bought most of the mats I needed over the previous couple months but the market is very saturated right now (on my server at least) and there is not the same amount of money to be made. I do make a good amount of money every day on selling enchanting supplies as well.

Enchanting materials also sell for alot, and when you max it out you can charge people to enchant their gear, or be tipped, and make more cash.

Yeah, 1 stack of nightmare vine goes for about 27g, 1 fel lotus is about 25g. Yay for me!

b0unce. [?] 10-28-2008 09:02 PM

With inscription people leveling it, low level herbs are selling for a ton.
Kingsblood sells for 50g a stack now, while it was like 2g a stack.

Koflach 10-28-2008 10:19 PM

i can't believe people are still paying that much money for herbs when there is next to no money in inscription anymore.

b0unce. [?] 10-29-2008 06:50 AM

yeah lol, guildies are giving em away to us

unit 10-29-2008 08:35 AM

money is important.. so i suggest you do 2 gathering professions to make the most.
if you choose a crafting profession then its usually extremely expensive and you'll end up broke for a long long time. also, almost no point of being a jc, enchanter, etc... since u can just pay someone to make stuff for you. you dont wanna drain like 2000+ gold on a profession when u can spend maybe 100g at a time to get stuff made for you.

mining and herbalism will make you seriously rich

Soem good advice but I would not make your main character a herb/miner. If you are going to be raiding your main should have professions that will help you do better in raiding. My elemental shaman was originally a DS Leatherworker/Skinner. I needed to squeeze every point of spell damage I could out of my toon and decided to bite the bullet and level up enchanting to get the +spell damage on my rings. Having an extra 24 spell damage for me is worth dropping skinning and spending the money on leveling up enchanting.

He's right. Recruit-A-Friend is seriously awesome if you have a friend to level with.

terkan 10-29-2008 06:17 PM

does RAF have a limit on the lvl gap?

Inaii 10-29-2008 06:20 PM

I think you have to be within 5 levels don't you?

well for one thing there are twink servers!
imagine an azeroth where everyone is level 19! and you go to bg and its only 19! man those servers are so fun! i mean everyone was 19 both factions and raiding was hella fun! it was like being in highschool with the crew and going to the rival schools and dummying them! LOL but im not sure if they still have them around as i only just came back to wow in preparation for WOTLK!

on another note, a friend of mine asked me about powerleveling for his character and i told him that i would follow him around and kill his mobs for him, and he laughed and said no he meant about powerleveling services and i was like wtf do you mean? and he told me, well i didn't know they had stuff like that! i knew they had a virtual gold economy but nothing in regards to powerleveling services for characters.
Anyways i couldn't answer him anything about it so i'm asking his questions here plus the first one is mine so excuse the noob:

1: is this really a fact?( that there are services for powerleveling?)

2: Anyone here use these so-called services? (feel free to pm me if you do)

3: is it safe?

4: how much does it cost?

5: Whats the best one to use?

6: is there anything local?

Anyways, i guess it would be a big business especially coming up to WOTLK.

The limit on the level gap is 4 levels. If one person gets higher than 4 levels, neither of them gets the RAF experience bonus. Also, the link between the two accounts for Recruit-a-Friend is only 90 days.

terkan 10-30-2008 01:12 AM

say if i put all my talent points into frost.. is there a point in buying fire skill?? or i should just stick with the frost skill?

3: is it safe? I wouldn't say so, if you get caught you get banned from WoW permanently

4: how much does it cost? Depends on what level you're trying to get. 1-60 is like $50ish.

5: Whats the best one to use? I wouldn't use any, but that's just my personal opinion

6: is there anything local? As far as I know there's nothing local, most of the power leveling services are done from Asia

Anyways, i guess it would be a big business especially coming up to WOTLK.

stupid quote -.-

stick down 1 tree.
i leveled as frost, its more survivability and kiting your enemies.
fire/arcane is more 'killing em quick' style

_Hotsauce_ 10-30-2008 06:32 AM

Blizzard offers legal power leveling services, it's called Recruit-a-friend. Sure it requires you to both start a new character, and one person start a new account, but that's only about $50 for WoW/BC which is what someone said "real" power leveling costs.

I can't stress enough on how easy and fast the RaF is. For example, last night we ran through all the quests in the Hinterlands, took maybe 2 hours, we went from 49 to 53.75.

Inaii 10-30-2008 06:40 AM

Some people are too lazy to put any time into their characters. They want instant gratification with none of the work. Hence why I said I wouldn't use any.

Also, if you (the person asking about the leveling services, not you hotsauce) had typed WoW power leveling into google, you could have found out in less time than it took you to type that post out.

Mr.HappySilp 10-30-2008 07:41 AM

WoW is down for maintance again lol. Just when I decided to get up early to avoid the crowd so I could find the rare spwan for the mail pants and chest ~ boo

usually it shows once they hit 70 imo... bc the players arent really good at playing their toons. even for me after hitting 70 w/ my combat rogue and re-spec'ing to sub, i had no clue what i was doing and was totally useless in bgs (and still am)

mk1freak 10-30-2008 12:23 PM

My guild don't have enough ppl on or ppl aren't willing to run anything -_- I have to pug my kara runs for the last few weeks. But I was able to get into black temple earlier ^^

Rofl. That's the only thing I hate about being in the major cities. The amount of spammers and beggars is just inconceivable!
