Forgot to review my stay at MGM too so I'll try and keep it brief - Located on the South End of the Strip next to NYNY / Trop / Excalibur and not a bad of a walk to Monte Carlo, PHO, Aria, Bellagio, Cosmo - Stayed in the renovated Deluxe King room - room is pretty nice with all the fancy finishes (wall paper, marble countertops, wood and fabric panels and electronic shades - a notch down from Aria) - They got a great selection of restaurants including Wolfgang Puck, Emeril's, Craftsteak, Witchcraft and also a food court with Mcdonalds, Nathans, Asian place to boot - IMO they got the best pool 3 of em and the the best part is the lazy river. You gotta rent a tub and try this place its sweet!!! - Casino is really dated but they are in the mids of renovating it and adding a ultra restaurant / lounge Hakkasan on the strip entrance. I wanted to check out the Mansion but had no clue how to get there (this is where all the High rollers, VIPS and Celebs stay rate is $2500 per night or so and often by invitation only. Overall I would recommend the MGM if you find it at a right place and like to stay in the South End of the Strip |
Went to Vegas twice this year already.. First time stayed at Treasure Island.. it wasn't so bad..sucked that it was at one end of the strip.. went there monday-friday during reading break.. but unfortunately there wasn't as much people that were around our age group at our hotel..until the day we left.. Also we were able to hit up Lavo one night. It was kinda small but my friends and i really enjoyed ourselves. Second time, stayed at the Bellagio. pretty nice hotel. had problems with our a/c.. as it was only letting out warm air.. we eventually got it fixed and from then on it was great. We went to XS and Marquee. of my favourite clubs in vegas.. XS so far is my number one pick. Personally i'd say that it does not necessarily matter what hotel you stay at really.. because you'll find yourself not in the hotel as much as you'd expect to be.. |
Just got back this week. Did the $20 trick at Planet Hollywood and it worked. We had 3 of us staying in 1 unit so they upgraded us to a larger room since we had suitcases and golf bags. |
Gotta do the $20 trick next time I go. Just found out about this thread when I came back.... |
Does anybody have the M life card from the MGM resorts? M life emailed me an offer today from Monte Carlo hotel for October's promotion: OCTOBER FEEL RICH
Has anybody used or tried it before? Does any know are these usually really free/complimentary? |

They are free/complimentary if you got it in your email. Maybe you have to pay resort fee but that's about it. |

How much did you gamble the last time you were there? |
I guess I need to sign up for a M life card next time I visit vegas |

It won't fly if you are a brand new member with the M life card that hasn't gambled at the casino before. |
I went with my wife last month, and we just signed up for the M life card, and our cards are linked together for points and etc.. We only played slots, we don't play on the tables. Between the both of us, we probably put in around $600-$800 between the casinos. We spent 5 days and 4 nights in Vegas. We probably spent the most money at the following casino's: Luxor, MGM, Monte Carlo, New York New York, Bellagio. I've noticed recently, that these hotels are under M life card. I was surprised they sent me an offering, I usually don't expect much for these point reward cards, unless I spend tons and tons of money. I usually expect: "new members who sign up, can get $x amount free play". Now I need to find dates which are very cheap for air fare, and be able to use the complimentary nights at the Monte Carlo. Allegiant air does have cheap airfare + hotels packages at the end of November and in middle of January. It is probably cheaper to buy an package from Allegiant, then to find separate air fare around those time. |
They offered me Limo service from and to airport, reimburse my flight ticket, $400 in casino chips and 5 days 4 nights hotel a while back.. Didn't take the advantage as I was too "vegased out" and busy |
anyone else going to vegas for sema? ill be there the whole week. Going with my dad but need someone to club with for Halloween lol |
i see on November they got cheap flights for Air Canada..lowest fare nov.25. $130 tango plus & 99 dollars on certain flight days. & even the same on returns...Hmmm.. |
Plan suddenly changed from going to LA and now inbound to Vegas in mid December! flying from bellingham rd trip $250. staying at the monte carlo monaco suite for 3 nights + $50 comp food and beverage credit $215. |
how do you guys get these food and bev credits? Going to Luxor for 4 days next week. Would be nice to have a food / bev credit to cover a meal or 2 |

I would sign up for a M Life card first, gamble and see if you can get any comps. Vegas Hotels don't comp up front unless it was a special offer or if you have a previous track record of gambling. |

What do you usually play? For how long? And how much do you bet? |

They said everything was great. Border was faster than passenger vehicles but the driving itself was slower. No issues that I heard of. |
