I'm flying out from Bellingham this weekend.
Anyone got any tips for cheap parking?

The airport is pretty affordable and can't beat the convenience.

Way cheaper than buying booze on the plane. I think I had about 10 of them in a ziplock bag, customs looked at it and said it was fine.

Some airlines don't allow you to drink alcohol that you brought on, IIRC Alaska doesn't allow this.

Airport is $10/day. You can park at the further lot (gravel) for $9/day from my memory

Where can I find cheaper rentals

Hotwire is your best bet. I booked a car for five days for about $131 CAD and change (before insurance). I have auto rental insurance with the credit card company that I booked but I don't think it includes 3rd Party Liability or whatever so I might get some Roadside Plus from ICBC (I asked an AutoBroker and it was $10/day aparently).

Any how, after doing some research and asking around, Hotwire is your best bet I think.

roam mobility

buy it locally and just pop it in at the airport

headin to Vegas next week with the fiance.

Booked with airmiles and staying at the PH. Bought tix to KA and Phantom so I'm stoked.

Wondering if anyone tried the $20 trick at PH reception? I've got a regular room reserved, and am hoping the trick could possibly bump me up to a view of the strip, or even the bellagio fountain. Have high doubts it would work for a jr suite :okay:

thx!

im also going to vegas next week with my gf. 13-16. got a wicked deal not too long ago flying out of bellingham. about 290 for flight and hotel. it was one of those surprise 4-star hotel things tho.. got TI, which is not TOO bad considering it is better than some other crappy ones. lol will be trying the 20dollar trick as well. im just taking it as a gamblie.. since im in vegas anyways. so hope it works out!! yah im also parking at bellingham airport.. but for 9$ a day.. so im guessing it is the gravel parking lot. its going to be one hot trip.

I've done the $20 sandwich before and got upgraded from a basic room (cheapest) to a larger room with a beautiful view of the fountain. This wasn't during the summer though.. Did it around Christmas time.

I'm going again next week (12-15) so I'll post in here if it works again.

Mobilicity might be expensive depending how much you use your phone

T-Mobile Pay by Day plans seem much better

Unlimited everything with 4G data speeds for $3/day
You use 2MB with Mobilicity and you pay for a day with T-Mobile

Are you staying at planet hollywood again?

I'll be heading to Vegas for a golf trip in Sept from the 27th-30th and only have the hollywood hip room booked for 3 of us. Just curious to see what the success rate is on the $20 trick. Hell since there's 3 of us staying in 1 room with our golf bags/suitcases if I can make it a $60 trick to get a suite i'd be happy.. Post up regardless if you were successful or not.

Yes, I have the Hollywood Hip room booked too. It might be harder to get a better room this time because I want 2 separate beds. I know they have a larger selection for single kings so it was easier when I was going with the gf.

All the sites I've looked at, PH has the highest success rate (>80%).

Went the last week of August last year and booked the cheapest room. Was contemplating on slipping the desk a 20, but decided just to ask nicely and the guy bumped us up to a jr suite :fullofwin:

Also will have to buy the sim from mobilitcity/wind as well which is way more expensive than t-mobile.

Roam mobility, not mobilicity.

Talk, Text and Data for Canadians Roaming in the US - Roam Mobility

lilaznviper 08-08-2012 01:41 PM

looking at their site right now... pricing seems pretty reasonable. and on par with t-mobile
edit: looked closer and its not that good ahha unless you buy 30 days... still t-mobile is cheaper

smaggs 08-09-2012 09:10 PM

Anyone got an idea of how much a limo vs a taxi is from airport to strip (Venetian to be specific)?
