Did you stay at Planet Hollywood? How are the renovations coming along?

Leaving on Sunday and it can't come any sooner

Has anyone been to the Trader Vic's restaurant that opened in Sept? (near Paris or Planet Hollywood...)

I really wanted to go in August but it wasn't open.

Becareful when booking with Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, Hotels.Com. Half the time the bookings are all messed up.

Always print all confirmation numbers, call hotels/airlines and double check all the details!

Just wondering if anyone of you who have flown with Allegiant Air ever experienced flight delays? Their fares seem attractive but still contemplating if it is worth travelling to Bellingham for the savings.

Horrible customer service, and get their ealry you dont want to get stuck at the border. You never know when they will decide to search your car, espcially if you have suit cases with you.

what does that have to do with the airline?

I've flown with them, they're perfectly fine for a 2 hour flight...who needs 1st class? Plus Bellingham is a smaller airport so there are shorter security lineups and parking is only $36/week.

Just make sure it isn't snowing when you're flying. It's a smaller airport and they don't have the equipment necessary for clearing the runway of snow and ice.

yes, on the off-chance you fly on 1 of the 10 days in a year it actually snows that much in the Puget Sound region...you probably should rethink your day at the tables in Vegas

Well I could go into it a further, I said customer service sucks and it does. I was supposed to fly out with them on the Friday long weekend. Our flight was at 8:30 and we left Richmond at 5am. There was an hour and a half long line up at the boarder at, then we were pulled into customs for a random search. We got to the check in counter at 8:05, there was still one person ahead of us checking in and customs were still checking about 5 bags. The lady looks at us (2) and says sorry too late bye. The customs officer behind her said we still have time to check you in and your bags but it’s up to her; they look at her, she replies by saying no sorry bye smiles and walks away. I pleaded with her and told her the whole situation and she wouldn’t budge they had not even started boarding the plane.

Alaska air line next to us said it happens daily, right then a customer showed up late, their flight which already was completely boarded but the lady told him no problem. She called back a security officer to check the bags, rushed the guy onto the flight and told us see you should have flown with us. At that point our plane had already taken offer, I was been on hold with alligents telephone line for 35min (roaming and ld) and the alligent csr came back. She asked us if we would like to purchase a new ticket for tomorrow’s flight or fly with Alaska Air seven hours later for 362 each one way ticket. Talked to her for a while, she then apologized saying I didn’t know you got held up in customs (I told her 5 times earlier) and she explained it was her 2nd day on the job. You know what if it’s your second day on a job and something happens go and ask a supervisor or call someone. The csr in front of me and the one on the phone then tell me that there is nothing they can do and only customer relations can give me a credit or refund; I am expecting a call tomorrow.

We eventually did get to Vegas by driving like a nut down to Seattle and catching a 12 o’clock flight with southwest that connected in Oakland for an extra 220/person. The customer service at Southwest was great they got us on the earliest plane. They even called and checked other airlines to see what would be the quickest, cheapest and even tried to get us on another plan that had already boarder but it was just a little too late.
We flew back with Air Philippines which was great and the only way I will fly to Vegas from now on.

It’s all about customer service and how the lady dealt with us, only apologizing once it was too late. I work in customer service; one of the most import traits to have is knowing how to listen; which she dropped the ball.

And as promised a few pictures:

The normal line up at Tao’s 2 year anniversary on the right which stretched outside; our line up on the left, no line up, no cover.

Our renovated Resort Room at PH on the 23rd floor, with a view of the Strip and Bellagio’s fountain show. two of us stayed at PH the other two stayed at The Bellagio, and personally I liked our room better. Not only was it cheaper, it was also closer to elevators and easier to get in and out of the hotel compared to the 10min walk from the front desk to their room.

Probably my Favorite meal of the trip was Sunday Brunch at Bouchon in the Venetian. It’s a must try.

Bouchon French Toast: Bread pudding style w/ warm layers of brioche, custard & apples. Served with maple syrup.

Special and my order: A Wild mushroom & bacon 3 egg omlette w/ country sausage and toasted brioche.

Croque Madame: Toasted ham & chesse on brioche w/ a fried egg & mornay sauce. Serves with french fries.

Breakfast Americaine: Two eggs any style with bacon, country sausage, french fries & toasted brioche. Your choice of breakfast pastry, fresh juice and Bouchon blend coffee.

On the table not already listed above:
Banana Nut Muffin, Tripple Fried Fries, Fresh Squeezed Orange and Apple Juice.

Really depends on what you guys like...

I went to the X Burlesque show with my gf and we both enjoyed it. We tipped the usher and he gave us the best table for the show. Front row and right in the middle

Shows wise, generally the Cirque Du Soliel shows are good. I went to Mystere (at T.I.) and liked it. I've heard that Mystere and I think O are good ones for someone who's never seen Cirque Du Soliel shows. My recommendations would be to check out tripadvisor.com's las vegas forum as they had a lot of helpful advise for me both times I went to Vegas

I understand that what's done is done, but for others and for future reference, I would highly suggest more than 3 and half hours time allowance for getting to Bellingham for a flight. You should be prepared for unexpected traffic, border delays, and a busy airport security check, espcially on a long weekend.

I went down to Vegas the last week in August and had a flight in Belligham at 11:30AM. I left Surrey at 6AM, got the border around 6:45AM, cleared the border 8:00AM, arrived at the airport at 8:45AM, cleared security and was ready to fly at 9:30AM. Sure we waited for our flight at the airport for 2 hours, but at least we had plenty of time to spare in case we ran into any delays.

Car rentals are dirt cheap in Vegas. Just go on any of the US travel sites (cheaptickets.com, hotwire.com, etc) and you can probably score an intermediate car for about $25-$30 a day.

If you're staying on The Strip exclusively, I probably wouldn't even bother renting a car. The Strip is super close to the airport and you can probably cab it for a few bucks anyways. It'll also save you the nightmare of driving up and down The Strip where it's usually faster to walk anyways.
