Actually...i found something that might help you out here if you want to save some money on your travel.

i found this link

http://www.lvmonorail.com/ride_02_routemap_pop.html

#25 is where the stratosphere is at. So...thats only a kitty-corner away from where your hotel is at.....plus the small hassle of cutting through the casino and hotel of the Sahara.

Hope that helps.

Bally's = good price, best seafood buffet, centre of the strip.....but nothing special.

Excalibur = horrible location, boring hotel.....but best for breakfast, and cheap stay.

*best seafood buffet doesn't really say much in comparison to the rest of the buffets. Just saying....most of the buffets there are average joe, but if u prefer seafood, then Bally's is the better one, if not the best one to go to in Vegas.

not interested in spending 35 bucks on a buffet at the Bellagio.

As for aladdin...i would say its comparable. They've got lil ethnic sections...mexican food, chinese food, jap food etc.

Still like bally's better.

mandalay bay is nice, its fukkin huge. its infamous for its pool, which is definitely the best in Vegas. I mean where else do you see girls wearing tiny ass bathing suits while wearing stilettos. The only crappy thing about the hotel is the location. its near the beginning of the strip

hey

best time to go is November long wknd.... but i would have to say Luxor is a great hotel. Good location, good food, nice hotel, but a bit expensive than some others. MGM Grand is good place to say or Ceasars Palace is good location too!

MGM's not bad at all considering its location which is in between the beginning and the middle. If you're willing to pay MGM prices I'd also look at paris, mirage, ceasers palace, and one of my fav hotels, treasure island, which are in the middle of the strip. Theres a shat loads of things to do and see. some of my fav places to visit are the Rio and Bellagio buffets, tangerine club, ghost bar, cheetahs (dirty place but the girls are smokin'!), shopping at the premium outlets and at ceasers palace, blah blah. u'r never bored at any given time of the day. But staying there more than 4 nights is overkill imo considering the non-stop drinking, smoking, partying, gambling, and eating you'll be doing

Well, just decided a couple days ago that my girlfriend and I are going to go to Las Vegas at the end of the month as well.

Did a hell of a lot of research since last night.

A lot of websites have the exact same vacation packages available, just for slightly different prices. I compared like 5-6 of them side by side with the exact same search (yielding the the exact same results) and in the end, http://www.traveltst.ca/ was the cheapest. In the end, we chose a 3-night package at The Orleans and everything came to a bit under $1300 total. It's possible to save about $300 if flying out of Bellingham. We decided to not bother doing that.

After a LOT of contemplation, we decided The Orleans was the best package. It's close enough to the strip, and seems to have the best bang for the buck by far. In all my research so far, I haven't read a single bad thing about The Orleans yet.

http://www.cheapovegas.com/vegas_cas...?hotel_id=1069

The same package for any decent strip hotel is $300 more per person.

The Orleans has a 24-hour 70-lane bowling alley... overnight bowling is $1 per game.

Apparently their buffet is very decent and for like half the price of other places.

^1300 for 3 nights at the Orleans? Dude, you should have gotten a travel agent to crunch some more numbers for you. I got 4 nights at the Alladin for <$1200/couple....then again that was 2 years ago..

I'm pretty doubtful any better deal could be had at this moment. Generally you won't get any better deals in person, would you? Even if you could get a better deal in person, it can't be by much... and with as much research as I did last night, there doesn't seem to be any better deals.

There aren't even any five day, four night packages available... seems like it's very set. It was either 3 days, 2 nights between 20th and 23rd or 4 days, 3 nights between 23rd and 27th.

asking a travel agent couldn't hurt. especially those who are "consolidators". I remember scouring the internet myself and couldn't find anything under 700/person at places like the Imperial Palace.

i heard the orleans is somewhat new. it is a bit farther off the strip, so expect to spend $15-20 on cab fare to get to and from the strip, unless they have a shuttle. i stayed at palace station for $35 usd a night and it was very decent for that price. they had shuttles to and from the strip on the hour, so that was very convenient!

anyway for transport, that kind of money can certainly add up, so renting a car would be a wise choice. but the state of nevada doesn't have 3rd party liability insurance as a mandatory requirement, so even if u get the compact-size car -- expect to pay $15-25 for insurance on top of that. (we took a risk and didn't pay any insurance... ya, not wise but we only used it to go from hotel A on the strip to hotel B on the strip, and back to our hotel)

so just my 2cents about LV. the orleans is quite big, so you can't go wrong with a larger hotel. HAVE FUN!

yknow what, it's really not THAT far. you can probably walk to the bellagio, pretty much middle of the strip, in 10mins from mandalay bay. if you want to save your feet, buy an all-day 24hr-long bus pass for $5 and ride up and down the strip. the buses are double deckers that run every 15mins, even late into the night. although i might opt to take a cab at 3am instead of waiting for the bus

if you can score a deal with mandalay bay, go for it! that place is REAL NICE.

btw, being on the strip is entirely overrated. if you plan to check out the nightlife, we hit a ton of clubs and the best clubs we went to was at the palms, which is a hotel entirely off the strip near the orleans. we had a blast at the ghost bar (55th floor view was amazing) and their main club, rain. luxor also has a good club, called Ra, as well as mandalay bay -- which i can't remember the name of at the moment. bellagio club was nothing special, and venetian's club, tao, charges $30-40 cover.

Just a warning, you do NOT want to walk outside on the strip for any extended periods if you go to Vegas during the summer! Temperatures go over 40C so keep that in mind...
