Oh yeah, there's 4 of us going, and it works out to something like $40 USD per night per person, for 6 nights... I think that's a pretty good deal... what do you guys think? Thanks.

6 nights? I usually want to come home after 3. Don't get me wrong because Vegas is great and I go at least once a year, but only in small doses.

Ya, it has a full service maserati/ferrari dealership built in, and is connected to one of the best golf courses in the world.

Definitely not cheap...

Kind of a sidetrack question... since we'll be driving down, and obviously there are a lot of sights to check out... does anybody have any good suggestions? I've been told not to miss Knottsberry Farm. True?

^which hotel? price depends on location, hotel class, and whatnot. but yeah 50usd sounds pretty good for a room on/near the strip. i think i remember a couple years ago imperial palace had some special for like 55usd a night.

it's an amusement park, like six flags and disneyland (which are also in the LA area)

from what i remember, knott's berry farm is based on the peanuts characters (snoopy, woodstock, etc.), and six flags is warner brothers (bugs bunny, etc.).

i hear that most people like six flags better than knott's berry farm.

Wynn is really nice, but i find that they're packing too many themes in the hotel that unlike Venetian or Caesar you'd feel like u're in a historic place.

As mentioned above Venetian is very nice but i really like the Ceasars. it's like the one stop for everything. you won't even need to leave the freakin place! Forum shops and the moving statues, PURE nightclub, the restaurants in there are great too. There's a exotic car shop beside the Nike shop inside the forum shops, i took so many pictures!

so all in all, Ceasars get both of my thumbs up!

Las Vegas

So I am planning a trip to Vegas end of April and I have never planned any trips before. Anyone can tell me where to stay and where to book my package for the best deals possible and when I should book it?? Thanks I have no clue on what to do and where I would get the best deal!

ok well there really isn't a GOOD time to book a trip in Vegas as its a year round destination prices are usually always level. Where you stay is up to your own preference. Some prefer the glitzy glamour of the Strip (probably you, as a first timer). Others the less-pretentious downtown. Go to some travel agents, flight center, etc and shop around.

imo i would choose a crappy hotel but good location on the strip. like civicblues said thats ur own preference. some people have to stay in a really nice place, me personally ill settle for a cheap place that isnt super ghetto b/c i wont be spending much time in the hotel anwyays cause ill be out partying everywhere else. For hotels I would suggest something like imperial palace. one of the cheaper hotels and its rite in the middle of the strip. keep in mind going during weekends is more exspensive. do a search for deals and packages and also do a search and see how much it is if you just booked the hotel and flight seperately cause sometimes that actually turns out to be the better deal. good luck and have fun

thanks guys!!

i really don't care for glizt and glamour or anything, just as long it's not dirty and ti's on the strip so i don't have to worry about traveling. What's a good travel agency?? i've looked at flightcentre, expedia, itravel2000, ebay.....haha

I find that Expedia usually has the best deals for Las Vegas. Try EVERYTHING when you search. There a HUGE difference whether you depart on a Sunday or on a Monday...even larger differences for weekends. The 2nd or 3rd week of April is usually the cheapest for Vegas - I don't know why, but people say this is Vegas' "downtime". I went during that time last year, and it's SORT OF dead...but you know Vegas, it's never completely dead .

Sometimes I find booking directly from the hotel's website to be cheaper than going through travel agencies, or other online travel websites such as Travelocity, etc.

From the hotel website, they often show a calendar with the rate for each day. You'll notice weekdays (M-Th) are much cheaper than F/Sa/Su. Also, if you see some ridiculously expensive rates for certain days, you can be assured that there is some sort of convention in town...

Leaving mid-week is usually the cheapest to any destination (in general.)
