If your looking for hotel reviews use this tripadvisor .

It pretty much saved me when I went to California, I had almost booked into a hotel, then I saw real pictures of the hotel compared to their website and it was a world of difference.

wow thanks!

ok another question, how do u guys get to the outlets outiside of the strip, rent a car, shuttle??? I am salivating already at the D&G, BCBG, Versace outlets.

aznrsx1979 03-06-2006 05:05 PM

there's a shuttle that goes to the outlet mall...i think it depends what mall you plan on going to.

this is the one i had gone to...

girlie 03-06-2006 09:38 PM

i did try clicking but for some reason only the homepage is working on my comp....??? everything else i click turns up as an error??

girlie 03-06-2006 09:53 PM

one more question, how big is the actual strip?? would it be really bad if I stayed at a hotel or condo nearer the end of it?

6793026 03-07-2006 08:51 AM

damnnn u are pretty new eh..
it's best to be on the strip.
please look and make sure you don't book the OLD vegas eg// gold nuggets.
too lazy to type
1) hotel in the strip is pricy... i've stay in caeser and i've stayed in a dingy 40 dollar a night hotel before also... no problem
2) go to places and find coupons for cheaper shows.

look at other online forums for help....too much to list

aznrsx1979 03-07-2006 10:36 AM

the strip is pretty long and you gotta remember its gettin pretty hot out there. make sure you got comfortable shoes. if you're stayin on the strip it makes it easier to get around.

girlie 03-09-2006 11:54 PM

thanks for all the advice guys & gals

yes I know I'm harsh newb =(

but this is getting alot easier!

girlie 03-10-2006 12:20 AM

oh yeah and how is SAHARA HOTEL?? anyone stay there before?

aznrsx1979 03-10-2006 11:42 AM

so any idea which airline u're gonna take and how much ur tickets are?

i think the sahara is near the end of the strip...don't really know anything about that place

girlie 03-10-2006 02:14 PM

still looking for cheap airfare.....cheapest Ive found so far are like 400 so I'm better off booking a package, but still looking!

W2K 03-14-2006 11:07 PM

have u checked out the LV vacation place in richmond centre?
I was also planning to go down to LV for a few days after finals in April. I think they had 4 nights and airfare for around 500-600. Obviously not one of the hotels on the strip, but you can probably find one that is close to the strip.

All you do at the hotel is just to put your belongings there, sleep, and shower. You won't be spending much time there anyways so I don't think it really matters where you are staying. If you want something really close, you can try Imperial Palace, its basically right beside the strip. I was there at travel cuts today and they said it was around 640 (w/o tax) 4 days, incl airfare.

Hope this helps.

leave from bellingham or seattle. it will cost u less than $200 with tax

girlie 03-16-2006 09:35 PM

I know, but I don't think anyone would just want to drop us off at Bellingham.

Anyways I bought the tix separately....157 there with Air Canada (but purchased on United) and 90 US back from west jet + taxes

did you get it through an agent or just on the website?

where are you staying?

RayBot 03-20-2006 01:56 PM

My next experience to Vegas is already planned out. I've been to Vegas 3 times in the last 6 years, and there are always ways to save money, WITHOUT taking anything away from the FULL vegas experience.

As cheap as the Stratosphere and the Circus Circus is, don't even bother staying there, or else you will be doing LOTS of cabbing or walking.

For my next trip, i will be staying at the Imperial Palace. Its one of the older hotels in the strip. Fact of the matter is.....its a strip hotel, its cheap, and its located right in the middle of the strip across from Caesar's Palace, and very close proximity to other awesome places to hang around like the Mirage, the Venetian and the Bellagio.

If you are also looking for a hotel thats going to provide the best ammenities like spa, fitness centre, pool......save it for another city, not Vegas. In Vegas, you shouldn't be spending most of your time in the hotel anyways.

For shows....i mentioned this in another thread....check out the Blue Man Group. Best show bang for the buck.

And for the Sahara.....yes, its a nice hotel without the $$$$$. They completely rebuilt it. Still more expensive than the Imperial Palace, but at least you will be right there at the monorail station, so you can go anywhere.....fast.

girlie 03-20-2006 02:02 PM

shit

i'm staying at Stratophere.....argh

cuz ti was cheap lol

oh wells lots of cabbn for me i guess

i thougth sahara was near teh end too?

RayBot 03-20-2006 02:09 PM

sahara is near the end yes...but in the back of it, theres a monorail station.

So, pretty much if you want to get to the biggest hotels, its just pocket change away.

I on the other hand, won a free trip to vagas last year. Not that i am to complain, but i have the same experience staying at the end of the strip. This time its the opposite end of the strip....i stayed in the luxor. But....there is no monorail station close to there, so i was choiceless to cab most of the time (because the week i went there last year was apparently Vegas' record-breaker for rainfall).
