when i went, i booked my flight one day late and the price went up by a lot. i think the prices do go up around then since new years is close too.

a guy in class went around the same time i did, he got a deal from some place. i think it was $600 for flight and hotel. he left around the 23rd i think for 5 days, stayed at the venetian.

here's something I found on the las vegas forums of trip advisor...
http://www.ticketmaster.com/summerof...ink=tm_home_f7
"Ticket master has both a contest going and a $50.00 Cirque Show ticket offer for Ka, Mystere, Love, Zumanity, but O tickets presently not for sale. Good until September I believe. Enjoy!"

here's the trip advisor link if anyone wants to read others experiences. From what I understand, it's legit. http://las-vegas-hotels.tripadvisor....as_Nevada.html

if you're going in August prepare for temps to be in the high 30's- low 40's.... It's a different kind of heat, not humid... You'll understand when you get there... Just remember to drink lots of water... There's a couple grocery stores on the strip. I think one is close to the gameworks area so get water there.

suprasian 07-25-2007 12:01 PM

any ideas for cheap eats? i hear its hella expensive to eat to the point where we should eat once a day?! lol

I heard there is air conditioning everywhere that true?

dub.g 07-25-2007 06:22 PM

Ya, im goin there next tues, im expecting it be hella hot.. ugh

but hows at night? does it get cold? or just regular temp?

saucywoman 07-26-2007 05:31 AM

the hotels are a/c'd inside some people say you might want to bring a light jacket or whatever, but I didn't so it's up to you...

at night it was nice.. my first night there I got in at 9:30ish and was wearing a tank top as I walked around outside and I was fine... make sure to check the weather report before you head down to see what it's suppose to be like... This week they had thunderstorms, but so far up til aug 4 looks/looked good

saucywoman 07-26-2007 06:27 PM

here's the average tempatures in vegas during August
August HIGH 103° F (39° C) LOW 74° F (23° C)

So if you've come up here during the summer, the tempature is about the same as here...

http://www.accuweather.com/forecast2...89101&metric=0

unKnown 07-26-2007 10:38 PM

i went last year @ the end of august, temps were 42 degrees in the afternoon and around 29 at night

honestly its not bad..... it was hot but i wasn't sweating.

and yes, theres air conditioning everywhere

i didn't bother getting a car, didn't think it was necessary. if i wanted to go anywhere on the strip i went on the bus, 5 dollars all day, has air con and its quite fast.

if i wanted to go to a club i just took a taxi

if i wanted to go to a strip club, just tell the guys at the front of the taxi line and they'll pull up a nav/escalade/limo for you to take you there. its complimentry so you just pay tips.

and when you leave the strip club ask for a comp limo, just tip and its fine.

bildo 07-27-2007 05:15 PM

Is there all you can drink cups, similar to the hellavator cups at the PNE? I heard that you can pay like 20-30 bucks for the cup and you can drink all you want.

These are starting to be a thing of the past. Vegas is becoming a higher end place to visit.

I would recommend the Ellis Island restaurant on Koval Lane behind Bally's. They have a $4.95 steak special that is really good. It comes with baked or mashed potato, string beans, and salad. The steak is a healthy portion and beers/root beers are $1. It's not on the menu, so you have to ask for it yourself.

Otherwise, the Cheesecake Factory in the Forums Shoppes and Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian (same company) have large portions and great tasting food for affordable prices. You can split an appy and an entree with someone and still be full.

grock 07-31-2007 05:48 PM

depends what days you stay

ive found that prices for the week leading to christmas are much cheaper than the week after christmas

^ Where is California or Upper Deck? Is that like a restaurant in a hotel or something?

saucywoman 08-01-2007 12:47 PM

California is downtown around Fremont Street Experience...

here is a map of the strip and the Fremont Street Experience
http://www.vegas.com/lounge/map.html

Upper Deck says it's at Las Vegas Club, which when I look at the map I'm assuming it's downtown under the Fremont Street Experience too, not sure though

6insomnia9 08-01-2007 03:24 PM

saucywoman 08-01-2007 07:48 PM

just got back from Vegas fri night

arrived there on tues and stayed at Ballys...

friggin raining wed morning, was kinda bummed out

but once the weather settled in, it was redicolously hot, i was drinking water constantly, also didnt bother waiting for bus/shuttle... ended up cabbing everywhere which got very expensive...... damn

but neways fun nights, stopped by at OPM and Tangerine, didnt get a chance to see how Pure was...

kinda sad to admit this, but it was my first trip to vegas without a presence of a parent and just with buddies..

was thinking of going back there by myself though.. neone here frequently go by themselves?

I never have but I would. I've already told my wife and my friends that the next time I go I'm going alone.

6insomnia9 08-08-2007 08:03 PM

I just got back, decided to come back a week earlier.

It was soooo fun there holy shit
i did everything within 7 days humanely possible.
rollercoaster was fun.
when i flew down at like 11 pm on the day i went, the lights there were so nice.

ah_cat 08-08-2007 10:26 PM

Got back Monday night
Got to Vegas on Thurs night at around 11.

Did not really have enough time to see everything, but managed to hit up Tao on Friday night and Tryst on Saturday night.

Loads of fun, but I was partied out after Tao.

Did a lot of mad shopping too, esp. at the outlet.

Had an awesome time, but wish I stayed there longer!

Hows the WOMAN shopping experience from the outlet? Lots of womans' stores?

dub.g 08-08-2007 11:06 PM

I know eh? seems that 3 days isnt enough to see everything there

i didnt get a chance to see the fashion mall when i was there last week

the outlet mall is the exact same look as the seattle one.. but not as many good deals as the vegas one..

a good one week stay would be perfect, but i dont think i can afford it, lol im broke after the 2nd day..

but i definitely made up my mind, i really wanna go back there sumtime next spring by myself....... i think im better off by myself to see everything there rather than with buddies.. at least i make my own choices..

wuts actually a good time to come there besides summer? well in terms of cheap rates and travel packages? february? spring season?
