"Zensoku" is the Japanese word for asthma.

....and I've just been informed, apparently also means "full speed" or "full power" according to the missus.

underscore 04-24-2009 07:14 AM

^ now that doesnt make a whole lotta sense.

+Kardboard+ 04-24-2009 08:44 AM

FULL POWAAA asthma?

ColinK 04-24-2009 10:48 AM

I checked out http://www.atticfire.com/ and thought I'd try to replicate the process.

Here was my first attempt. I still have a lot to learn, and it's very time consuming!

Mananetwork 04-24-2009 10:56 AM

^I'm confused, what is going on?

bikerx 04-24-2009 11:01 AM

painting with light?

ColinK 04-24-2009 11:04 AM

I used multiple exposures with flash pops and then combined them in photoshop.

atticfire.com does some really great looking interior photos, so I thought if I could do something like that, it could be a real benefit to our clients! :)

G Hawk 04-24-2009 11:07 AM

^ all you doing is just lying to your clients eyes!! :P

Mananetwork 04-24-2009 11:08 AM

I think you should also use a slow Fstop to fix up the corners

ColinK 04-24-2009 11:27 AM

sorry Thomaz, by slow fstop do you mean higher fstop/smaller aperture?

Why not do it in camera? It'll save you all the time wasted doing it in PS.

ColinK 04-24-2009 12:05 PM

^ that's something else I was also thinking of trying, but then I'll make to clone out the flash when it fires which may become tricky depending on where it is...

bikerx 04-24-2009 12:09 PM

what you do is shoot it at night , or almost night or early morning.

F22 / 50 iso have two ppl walk around and high light the places. then do a over all exposure with a flash to fill up the shadows. done deal :)

Damn, I was just going to post this idea too. Make it a sexy sunset and just fill in the rest of the light with flashes. Painting with light as it's called :D

ColinK 04-24-2009 01:06 PM

just have to make sure the flash heads are always faced away from the camera.

but I'll give that a shot!

Thanks guys!

Also wear all black. and its better to snoot the flashes. and shoot at a 45 degree angle . prevents your shadow from showing up and snoot will help make sure the camera doesn't see the flash. anything that is black will do as a snoot , can even just gobo the flash if you like. :)

Senna says I haven't posted this on here yet... I honestly can't remember. Oh, and the flower looked totally orange on the crappy screen at work, so this is what it's supposed to look like Jason lol :p
