A swan and two seagulls (aka rats with wings).

Oh wow, I really like this shot! So beautiful!

jolaika, I really like your series as well! I especially like the closeup of the racoon (the 3rd pic). Great DOF and that little piece of green really adds pop to it! Which lens were you using? a 70-200 f2.8?

Raid3n 04-11-2009 10:25 AM

soundy, that's pigeons lol.

Alphamale 04-11-2009 10:26 AM

^No man, pigeons would by mice with wings. They aren't nearly as intrusive as seagulls.

Inaii 04-11-2009 10:52 AM

They should be referred to as garberators with wings.

Seagulls! Pigeons do not swim!

jolaika 04-11-2009 04:05 PM

shot some stills at a music video shoot today... got to use a sigma fisheye lens and it is pretty cool... thinkin of getting a canon fisheye but can't find one anywhere... would love to get it for my kid's portraits.... anyway, hope you enjoy the photographs... got more coming...

roastpuff 04-11-2009 07:27 PM

Oooh, I spot a 5DMkII in there!

Fisheye is fun... in moderation. It makes me go dizzy.

Senna4ever 04-12-2009 01:24 AM

Was the 5D being used for video?

Looks like it is, considering the tilt/pan head on the tripod/setup it's on.

g/rex 04-12-2009 09:51 AM

yes, we had a pair of 5ds ... both used for video... i will post the link for the music video once it is completed... the mk2 video capabilities is insane when used properly... i've used it before but never with pan tilt heads and sliders and such... quality is amazing!

Tim Budong 04-12-2009 03:09 PM

that was the sigma8mm?

ColinK 04-12-2009 03:10 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing the video results!

Did you find it difficult to manual focus everything?

g/rex 04-12-2009 04:49 PM

it was the sigma 15mm 2.8...

i'm looking forward to see it also... my friend is actually the one who was doing all the video work, i was just doing stills throughout the shoot... he actually had another guy doing the focusing.. so one guy with the cam and the other guy doing the focusing... it was my first time in a video shoot and i thought it was pretty cool.. lot of prepping... lot of trial and error....

Had family dinner at a Korean restaurant and took some snaps.

C&C always welcomed.

I know two of them are the same but they somewhat have different editing.

Also do you guys use flash when taking pictures inside a restaurant? I don't like using the flash on the camera so i'm stuck there holding the camera still for a second or so which gets kinda hard cuz my hands shake.

Inaii 04-12-2009 10:27 PM

Hey guys, hope this is okay but I have a friend who'd like some feedback on his photo editing skills (as well as photog skills) if you don't mind.

Here is his edited version of the photo above

If you guys could provide some feedback (good and bad) he would greatly appreciate it and so would I! Thanks!!

K-Dub 04-12-2009 10:29 PM

Too much photoshop tan.

Inaii 04-12-2009 10:35 PM

^thank you! I said the same thing. Apparently everyone else he talked to liked it?

I think the original looks better personally. Just needs a little brightening and some more contrast.

Senna4ever 04-12-2009 10:52 PM

The way he's cut off all four extremities is unsettling, especially the hands. There's something about the image that's just not right...is it the camera angle? It looks too amateurish. I wouldn't put it in a portfolio.

niforpix 04-13-2009 10:02 AM

Never crop at models wrists. Either show the hands or crop at middle of forearm (more less).

ColinK 04-13-2009 10:28 AM
