Wykydtron 02-27-2010 06:49 AM

^^ Ok. someone correct me if I'm wrong, I want to see if I'm learning and have this right :P

Up your f/......I'm not going to try to explain why, but that's the most basic answer I hope. Let's see what one of these actualy photographers say.

IMASA 02-27-2010 09:28 AM

You probably need to increase your depth of field, ie higher f stop number. That one was shot at F3.5, so you probably need to stop down, say F8 or more. With a small aperature, you need a longer shutter speed. The EXIF shows 1/60, so I assume you hand held it? Try using a tripod.

I found even when using a tripod, my shots of the vectorial elevation night shots were not sharp enough. It's either the vibrations from the cars on the bridge or not using a remote to trigger the shots. I even used the mirror up feature.

came aross a Lynx chowing down on a carcass likely poached while we were unloading the sleds... probably a once in a lifetime sighting, these things are hard to spot!

That's sick! Nice snowboard shots, but those Lynx shots are awesome! All that @ 200mm! Very nicely done!

keitaro 02-28-2010 08:32 PM

HyperREV excellent shots! both of the lynx, and sledding!

on the second sledding photo, i think you need adjust the WB. you got some yellow/brown snow.

Wow.. rare is right..

my uncle who works in forestry and another uncle who works in mining both have been in their respective industries in the kootneys for the past 25-30 years and both have never even seen a cougar in person [which is a very rare sighting in itself] but to see a lynx and get these type of pictures, amazing!

Senna4ever 03-01-2010 09:05 PM

Those lynx shots are unreal!
