Are you buying the 100-400? I hope you're getting either a new one, or if you're buying used, a relatively new one. Whatever you do, don't buy an older 100-400 as they're not very sharp.

N.V.M. 12-19-2010 10:55 AM

i'm about two hours away from not knowing exactly what i'll get! haha! have you shot with the Bigma with OS? i'm leaning towards the 100-400(new) because i have the TC 1.4II already.

Senna4ever 12-19-2010 11:09 AM

No, I don't have any experience with the Bigma. I've seen some really sharp shots done with it, but I've also seen some soft results too. With Sigma, it's a crapshoot as to whether you get a sharp copy or not. Kyle's got a sharp copy of the non-OS one though.

Boostslut 12-19-2010 02:08 PM

So what did you end up getting NVM?

N.V.M. 12-19-2010 02:12 PM

i'm procrastinating at the moment. i went to Park Royal Lens&Shutter and touched it though. haha!

in the meanwhile;

and this shot is similar to the cow pic, with the cookie sheet turned vertically.i had to use my 70-200, from across the kitchen!

Nice shot European, and Matsuda!

Two shots of some Siberian Tiger cubs. They are about 10 months old. They are too beautiful! Enjoy!

are those taken @ 400mm? do you know how old your buddy's lens is?

Soundy 12-20-2010 08:54 AM

He got it within the last couple years... I'd have to check the EXIF, I think they're all at or near 400.

Keep in mind these are the Facebook versions, complete with the resizing they apply :\

It's been awhile since I've been on here. Here is a photo from October.

Apparently, Flikr does the best resizing - the apply a good amount of sharpening when they resize, so you don't lose that much of the important detail.
