Thoughts? I am by no means a photographer, even though video work is technically similar. Thought I'd give a try at taking a few photos. All three photos are lightly photoshopped and were done with nothing more than my camera. It was an impromptu shoot, so no lights, bounce boards or anything.

this lens is great on the 5D2. wasn't so great on my 7D when i bought a used copy on whim.

(couldn't justify the cost of the 16-35 II!)

are you going to trade it up for some fast glass now? would she notice if you had a 16-35?

she would notice as i was debating between the 16-35 as well to buy for myself before she got me the 17-40 :)

as much as i want to complete my trinity of F2.8 L zooms, i can't justify the cost of a new 16-35 F2.8 L II.

it's a lot cheaper in the US though, i think at $1200 USD new? 2.8 would definately be nice, but the cost over the 17-40 and also the filter size of 82mm gets to me.

i don't use an UWA that much so it boiled down to the 17-40L in the end.

She knew i wanted the 100L Macro as well, but thought i would use the UWA more so :)
