a side note.... my camera likes to blow out the red channel for some reason - something that wasn't the case when I was using Nikon.

Any suggestions on how to prevent that? or is it a Canon "thing" to easily blow out the reds in the shot? lol

niforpix 01-05-2007 11:43 PM

First attempt at "colour isolation" using photoshop. Go easy on me, I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff.

Also, this photo was taken long time ago with my old 3.2 meg Canon Digital Elph. :)

Sorry Mike,

I missed this photo. Just some simple things to keep in mind. When you are lighting her from above make sure you light more of her face.

Kristen has high cheek bones and it casts shadows off the side of her mouth.

^ The last one woud look good in B/W with a tone of some sort + exposed a bit more

Senna4ever 01-10-2007 12:43 PM

^^^ I agree, but the tonal range seems to be very narrow. What camera was used?

Yeah, the Sigma isn't very sharp at 500mm, but the in-body stabilization allowed me to get a somewhat useable shot here. :)

Might seem like a stupid question but i cant figure it out:S.

How do you add boarders to your images? I went through all the tools, and boxs in photoshop but there was nothing there. My other idea was to open the image in windows paint, but thats stupid. I know its somewhere in photoshop.

Where are you, you bass?!

Meowjin 01-10-2007 10:17 PM

There are some built-in borders in Photoshop in the actions palette.
