Holy smokes! Just found out there is a flash kit in the making called the DSLink.

It is the same size as a normal DS game, and takes MicroSD / Transflash cards.

Card inside DS Lite:

The developer said that the Castlevania intro had no slowdown at all using a KingMAX card, so I am expecting no slowdowns at all :D

I might sell my EZ4Lite if reviews are great! ( Which I expect and most people are anticipating for. )

^that'd be awesome.
because the current ones that are kind of like that (ninjapass, etc.) don't take any external memory cards

its pretty much the same

Razor Ramon HG 08-07-2006 06:02 PM

I flashed my DS with Flashme v7 Stealth.
I'm pretty sure I got a few more hours of batterylife than when I used a NoPass card.

Rhetorical 08-07-2006 06:35 PM

^i'm wondering how different are the ds phat and ndsl though, also considering htat older units are going to have poorer battery life in general and running a passme/nopass card just exacerbates that.

Razor Ramon HG 08-07-2006 06:41 PM

You can get a new battery pack from Nintendo in their Richmond Customer Service Office for like 15 bucks, lol

sh0n 08-07-2006 06:55 PM

Any of you tried to load homebrews on the NDS?

I have the m3 minisd adapter

I could get DSOrganize to work but BeUP (msn doesnt really work well for me)

Anyone have insight on this?

eddoe 08-07-2006 07:11 PM

How did you get DSOrganize to work? You just extracted the folder to the DS and just put the ROM into the mini without using the game manager, right?

Razor Ramon HG 08-07-2006 07:26 PM

I got BeUp to work by using the Chisem (sp?) Test .gba version.

Extract all 3 versions to your M3 and try loading all of them sh0n.

How's DSOrganize?

sh0n 08-07-2006 09:02 PM

eddoe: I extracted the files onto my harddrive first. If you are using the m3 sd or mini sd adapter load the DSorganize folder along with dsorganize.gba.nds (in the folder itself) onto your memory card

Bennyboy: DSOrganize is not bad, it turns your NDS into a PDA. Kinda cool if you like to organize your appointments, addresses, numbers, calendars, to do lists.

They also have some kind of irc and homebrew database in there. I haven't gotten it to work yet.

On a side note

For the BeUp, I tried the same version as you did benny but it has a problem connecting (I guess to my router). It tries to connect and just freezes on me (stylus keyboard especially).

Any fix on this? Could it be cause I have WEP enabled on my router?

I'm looking for more homebrews too. Name some if you guys have used and like it

big grey or lite?

Don't think it matters which one you use for the homebrews, you'll need some sort of flashcart

But definitely the DS Lite FTW

I have WEP enabled, it automatically bypasses it cause it connects to your router by looking up your WiFi settings already stored.

If you get a connection error once you connect to the servers, keep retrying and it'll eventually work.

the DS link looks nice, but i think i'll stay with the G 6 and passcard 3 combo .

Razor Ramon HG 08-07-2006 11:45 PM

I heard lots of bad things recently about the G6, mostly corrupt and broken G6s to saves randomly disappearing? :o I hope yours never has a problem.

andrew_77751 08-07-2006 11:50 PM

really>

woah. well i haven't gotten it from the mail yet so i'm not sure how it will be.

also , mines is gonna come with the 3 colored face plates instead of just the white one. so this is going to be the second batch G 6 .

His feedback is good, I was going to buy something from him and he answered my questions promptly.

If you have a DS Lite, it's a really big risk since you could mess up during flashing. You have to load up the flashing program, then bridge a part of the DS known as the SL1 with something metal. If you accidently hit the left side of the hole the SL1 is located in during flashing, you will brick your DS because it will turn it off during flashing. It's much easier since it's impossible to turn it off on a DS Phat.

Here's a good guide.

andrew_77751 08-08-2006 11:02 AM

i prefer a Ds No pass device instead.

it's safer :)

and plus , battery life won't be lost that much cuz the G6 lite consumes identically to a regular GBA cart. so it's just gonna depreciate a lil more with a no pass like passcard 3

Razor Ramon HG 08-08-2006 11:05 AM

If you have a DSL, it's probably safer, but if you have the old DS Phat, there's no way to brick it unless you turn off the DS.
