Going backpacking for a year or so requires a certain level of physical fitness. I'm in good shape overall. Im built like a football lineman and my body adapts to whatever i need. I may suffer but my body figures it out pretty quickly. I am the usually the strongest/coordinated guy i know. But I leave for New Zealand in 2 weeks and hiking 5-8 km a day with a 50 pound backpack takes its toll. Damm i need more practice............
