I'll probably have to pay some stupid brokerage charge seeing as its UPS.

stevo911_ 04-19-2008 04:38 PM

lets play a game! guess how much scrap aluminum you can put in a crx!

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q..._/DSC00652.jpg
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q..._/DSC00653.jpg

I found out on friday we needed to get all our scrap aluminum off site by the end of the day, my coworker is out of town visiting family and the boss (the only one with a truck) is in cancun, so me and my 1g were on our own, so i busted out the chop saw and started cutting it up into CRX sized pieces, unfortunately the scrap metal places were closed by the time i was done and i cant get to them now because of the snow (too much weight in the back + snow + going up steep winding hills = doesnt work so good)
so looks like i'll have to take it there on monday and find out what the payload is.
I'm guessing 350-400 Lbs, you each get a 50 Lb range, the winner (or winners) win the prestigious title of
"the most awesomest guesser of the amount weight of scrap aluminum that can be loaded into the back of a 1g when you're in a fix at work all by yourself with your car"

heres another reference picture, its not staying in my car until monday
thats a size 12 6" top work boot
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q..._/DSC00659.jpg
oh and its mostly 1/16" and 1/8" extruded aluminum

rental_metard 04-19-2008 05:37 PM

615. message length is not my friend

FLYNLOW 04-20-2008 02:06 PM

Nice you should get an easy $200 for that.

stevo911_ 04-20-2008 04:38 PM

74 cents a pound woot! (for some of it, the flashing is only 60 something a pound)
I'm hoping it'll offset the 400 bucks i just spent on paintball gear, or the azenis rt-615s i forsee in the near future

Lageno 04-20-2008 07:33 PM

How many of you play Smash Bros Brawl? I need human competition.

OffroadZuki 04-21-2008 04:37 PM

did a guy named Jamie Miles ever own that CRX?

stevo911_ 04-21-2008 04:51 PM

it came to a total of a whopping 28X Lbs, kinda cool driving my car onto a scale and having weigh more than 2000 lbs :p

negatory, i'm the 3rd owner, 1st being an old couple, the second being a middle aged woman

Celica Girl 04-21-2008 05:33 PM

Never use UPS. I've been dealing with that bullshit for years ordering tattoo supplies from the states. The brokerage fees are a sham, you have to give up your first born all for nothing.

OffroadZuki 04-21-2008 05:35 PM

UPS sux ballz

I've ordered a bunch of photo gear...all through USPS...most got here in a week without any hassles at all

Agreed. UPS brokerage is just a huge money making scheme. Sure, I can see paying the person for a half hour of time it takes (or less), so lets say $20 tops. But lately I've been getting $50+ brokerage fees on items that are worth less then $50.

metal 04-21-2008 09:28 PM

I had no choice but to use UPS for this order, thats all they really shipped with. But on the plus side, I got my business cards today and didn't pay any brokerage for em, yay!

Super Dipper 04-22-2008 05:25 AM

meh, i ended up paying 40 bux for the taxes and brokerage fees which is acceptable for the price of the parts. woot car can head off to the body shop now.

Neva 04-24-2008 05:42 AM

so last night at work i'm sitting there and i see a van roll up with what appears to be an older lady that looks to have just gone through chemotherapy (just getting hair back) in a white fur coat with pearls on and i think to myself good for her for not letting the lack of hair get to her and whatnot. however the closer i look the less it starts to look like it's not an old lady.

a couple mins later a middle-aged balding guy comes into the store wearing heels, pantyhose, fur coat, pearls, all the makeup and a red dress short enough that you can see the undergarments containing the proof that it in fact was not a women. now at this point i don't know what to think, maybe he was going to...i don't even know. so he brings his drink up to pay for it and i casual say to him "so did you lose a bet or something *chuckle chuckle*?" to which he replied "no, i just like to dress up sometimes *disgusting molester smile*." and as he was leaving he flashed the cabby outside the same head slightly cocked creepy smile...

i've lived in this town pretty much all my life and have never encountered something so creepy. ever! but i guess that's just another thing beautiful langford has to offer...
