you guys think the wii will really do good as opposed to the gamecube ?

as the resident console geek I'll chime in.

The wii will only do well if they have implimented the control system well. Anyone remeber the power glove? I had that and playing mario is hard. I really hope 3rd party publishers will take the wii seriously and use the motion sensing technology more and more. Have you seen what they are doing with this years madden? Seems cool...lets hope it starts a trend.

Apparently in some cases its pretty solid but in other cases (in zelda using a bow and arrow) its horrible, apparently the graphics are still pretty blocky on it as well. After reading a review/test play writeup about the wii i'm kind of reconsidering

geoff was thinking it over as well. I want to read some honest reviews from someone with intelligence that is unbiased. Now about Madden I notice you have to move the wiimote (cute name btw) down to hike and up to throw, do you think this'll get tiresome for the serious gamer?

I beleive it wil, but it'll train those who throw the remote around trying to turn or soemthing to be more careful haha

look over on the van side in the ps3 thread, theres a link to a review of that sort. apparently it does get tiring and nintendo has designed it with a 2-3 hour max. gaming session in mind. also when your pointing the remote (to center it and everything) its relative to the console, not the screen. so you'll have to have the console on top of the tv or its weird trying to aim (if the consoles on the ground, and you center it, the wiimote will be pointed downwards, etc...)

Thats dissapointing. I heard rumours on www.joystiq.com that lighting in the room will play a big factor as well. Anyone know if the wii will be able to be used on all tvs, even plasmas?
