I am still trying to sort out what you are doing in order to manage a 250 shot. Care to enlighten?

However, as the Ecotec pushed through 283 hp at 4400 rpm, all four connecting rods simultaneously failed catastrophically and smashed through the side of the block. Laboratory analysis subsequently revealed a mid-beam compression fracture on all four stock powder-metal rods. All other components checked out fine. GM Racing installed a package of components you'd certainly install if you were taking the trouble to open an engine to upgrade the connecting rods: Super-duty forged Crower X-beam rods -- plus 10:1 JE forged pistons with thicker top ring lands and Hastings moly ring packs. The GM Racing team installed larger fuel injectors, and continued lean on the engine. Power quickly advanced to 350 hp, at which point the engine ran out of breathing room on the exhaust side. The ratio of Reactants (exhaust) to Products (inlet charge) is very high on a nitrous motor. GM Racing found the stock Ecotec exhaust manifold became sufficiently restrictive above 350-hp that injudiciously adding more nitrous could actually make less horsepower -- due to dramatically decreased efficiencies in scavenging exhaust gases from the combustion chamber clearance volume. "We finally made 370-375 hp on nitrous," says Bothwell, "but the engine was really pissed off."
I have all the parts they added, plus lots of headwork, and the usual bolt ons... and its not like I'm going to throw a 250 shot at it with testing a 100, 150, 200 shot first... ensuring my AFRs and EGTs are within acceptable parameters.

Basically all I need right now is a big fuel pump, bigger injectors (yellow tops are maxed), lots of octane, and a progressive controller... I've talked to people at GM, and they think a 400shot wont eat anything with excellent tuning and a progressive controller... not sure how confident I am in that.

It's really dark out, and I don't like that. Makes me not want to stop and pick up food for dinner before I go watch BORAT.

I have faith in the ecotech motor. Cant wait to see it make some power. I'll keep an eye out for injectors.

I get tomorrow off then a easy job monday though...and 6 days till cutoff day :D should have around 160ish hr on the paystub :)

can I recommend you bank some of those hours if you can at your work for a rainy day, I don't know what your hourly wage is but I believe after about 125hrs on a 2 weeks pay period you actaully start working for way less. The tax man rapes you.

TurboRay 11-06-2006 06:00 PM

He does rape him. He also makes like 45-50/hour

H2S gas ticket ?

if you have a class 5, BC first aid, air brakes, WHIMIS, TDG, and confined spaces, your pretty much set for anything from builindg leases to do being a roughneck.

they'll put you through AB first aid and ground disturbance though and anything else you need

stupid easy work too dude, easy.

I made the mistake of leaving my windown on my car open when i came home from school, just grabbed lunch and came back out to put it in the garage and work on it, absolutely soaked :(
on another note i hate doing custom installs of stuff now, swaybar endlinks are ghey

gracefallen 11-07-2006 11:23 PM

Could be worse, you could drive a Volkswagen.

My boss bailed about four inches of water out of the passenger side of his Jetta yesterday on the way to work. And pulled another three gallons out of the carpet with the shopvac later on...

My furnace stopped working and now my house is cold. And we filled up the tank on Friday. :(

Big Zee 11-08-2006 01:44 PM
